Plaid Party Dress: Item# F3615 My American GirlĀ® dolls will look party-perfect in this pretty plaid dress!
It features:
A sleeveless plaid dress with a gathered sash at the waist, button details, and a ruffle on the bodice Sandals with a bow accent, plus an elastic strap to keep them in place A plastic diamond-shaped barrette for her hair Includes a "Confident" heart charm for the doll's charm-keeper necklace.I bought this outfit for my doll Coral and it's really lovely! The dress is really spring-like and the shoes are adorable. The fabric is nice and smooth, not too stiff at all. I found that the shoes fit very well. There is a strap in the back to keep them on that does its job. The shoes are a navy purplish color. My only real frustration with the dress is the sash. It's not separate from the dress, though it looks like it in the front, where it runs through belt loops. In the back, it is stitched down for ease of dressing. I can understand why AG chose to do it that way, but it would be nice to have a separate sash. What surprised me most about the dress is the trim- it looks like ric rack in the online photos, but is really very nice crocheted trim! Overall, I really like this dress and I'm very glad to have purchased it. Grade: A

I'm surprised to see how well the dress fits your doll! I bought this dress last weekend and tried it on both of my current dolls and it's TIGHT! The back looks funny from me having to pull it tight to match the velcro. Am I the only one having this problem with this dress?

I bought this for Molly, and it works very well for the 40's, with the exception of the shoes. I substituted white cut-out sandals instead, and it looks just adorable! The dress itself is very well made, easy to get on, and the colors are so pretty! It is a nice, thick, cotton with body, and looks very crisp and spring-like. No problem for me with the sash, probably was done in one piece with the dress so it doesn't get lost, but mine works out very well. There is also a barrette, but Molly wears bright pink ribbons on her braids---and currently is also wearing the blue sunglasses that match well with the dress. I give this dress a solid A.

I'm being a hypocrite saying this dress isn't worth full price since I just paid that for it because I have a specific purpose for it. I am so saying because the pattern is very much the same as many sleeveless dresses out ther, and nothing special about the fabric either. Which I don't think is very festive, just plain old cotton blend that most every day dresses are. The embroidered ric rac is a bit of a special touch, but really, it's one of those dresses one sees by the hundreds on Ebay and on sale by off brand and homemade sellers. For $30, I wish AG had given it a little bit of something else.
Mine also had some threads that showed on the front placket, there is no attmept to match up the plaids, and the sash is sewed on. Shoes are navey sandals with a bow and a back strap, nothing that special but they do look nice. The barrette is nothing special either.
So why did I buy this dress? I wanted it for a specific doll and the colors are exactly what I wanted. I have a wrap sweater (Marisol's) that will go with it and a woven basket bag as well. So I bought it at full price with the sale items this month, and it will work well. The Sweet Heart PJs that I got on sale at the same time, have a top that is exactly the right shade of magenta to wear under the dress, and it is thin enough that it works. So the dress meets my wants precisely which is why I ordered it. Otherwise, I would wait for it to go on sale, and I think it will.

This dress looks nice on just about anybody! The pattern is so nice, and there are really pretty colors. The barrette and the shoes both go well with the dress. However, I think the redheads look especially nice in it, so here it is on Abby.
