(price increase from $22 to $24 January, 2012. Retired 8/28/14)
I am reposting my comments from another thread in regards to the mini Julie doll. I do not have the capability to post pics- but there are some in this thread (but sandals not shown well):
(mod edit to removed dead link)
We got mini-Julie yesterday at our local Barnes & Noble. I was surprised she was out, but we *had* to get her.
Once we got her home and out, my daughter instantly renamed her Hannah, feeling she looks like Hannah Montanna. (I have to agree).
When I got my hands on Julie/Hannah, I was not necessarily pleased. Her shoes are slip on sandals, clear rubber banded on. I see a big market for replacement shoes for her in the future! (They are so simply made, they'd be nothing to approximate!) The shirts both come off and my daughter put the tunic on the mini doll without the turtleneck underneath- it really looked weird- you could see that Julie/Hannah's torso/belly is darker than her arms and face (the fabric tone was darker) and it showed thru the thin blouse fabric. The tie on belt is a another replacement part in the making- very thin and seemed cheaply made (seemed like the leather/pleather might stretch and then beads would be lost)
This is our first experience with a mini- I'd have to give it a D compared to the quality of other AG items we've bought. However- a D in AG is about an B in every other doll line I can think of. Take it as you will.

I actually said I would never get a mini doll BUT mini Julie is so cute! I actually like her, her hair is long and feels silky. The shirts are serperate and have verlcro in the back, which is good! Although I dont think id use them seperate =\ I dont dis llike anything about Mini Julie the shoes are meh but only because they are held by tiny rubber bands I dont think I would actually take them off though because im pretty sure i would not be able to get them back on!!
Shes really cute!! I never liked any of the other ones! =P Overall I'd give her an "A"

Julie's my first mini, and Kailey already claimed her. To me the mini and Kailey look very much alike. I rate mini Julie A+. The only thing I don't like is the shoes, because they seem kind of cheap to me. But so I don't loose them I keep the rubber bands on. The turtle neck and blouse are cute and much like big Julie's, whom I've seen at Borders for a drawing contest when I got mini Julie. And the belt s nice, I like how it unties and it's not one of those fakes ones sewn together. The pants are stylin! I would like these on Kailey. But her pink undies are always sliding down and don't stay up, and sometimes the pants slide and once in awhile after "rough play" with Kailey I fix her pants. Her hair is long, soft, and silky. And that face is just adorable! I love the book too. It probably has half the story in it, maybe 3/4. The cover and book are well made and it's just like the big book! I also like the mini-doll box. Wich fits well underneath my doll bunkbed. Probably the best 14.95 I've spent ever! (Yes, 14.95 because I got discount.

Mini-Julie is so cute! I never had a mini doll before, but Julie is a great first one to have. Her hair is soft and silky just like the big Julie (which I don't have but my sister does) and her little clothes are adorable. She's even got the little purple underwear (but they don't have a rainbow on them). Her sandals are little flimsy, but if you leave the plastic bands on them they just stay on just fine.

I must admit that I have always liked the old glass-eyed minis much better than the current ones. The painted eyes and rooted hair always scared me. Like you don't want these Lilliputians sharing your bedroom with you at night! I bought Nellie, Kit, Sam and two Kayas -- kept their books for Gina's library and gave away the dolls. I originally bought Julie to steal her book but she is kinder and less freaky looking than the other minis. I planned to make her over into Ivy (Antina's has mini wigs that would be perfect) but I may have to get another one to customize. I think I like her! Astounding! B+ because she's too tall.

I'm the other way around. I think the glass eyed mini-dolls look scary. I love mini-Julie. She looks so sweet and kind. Her outfit is so well made. The sandals don't stay on, but they came with a tiny rubber band around them, so we just keep them on that way. Her tiny jeans are so cute. I have all the minis and I think they are all just great. Grade A. Mini-Julie Mini Julie in the doll sized shopping bag. Big Julie with her mini counterpart in Nora's traveling bag.

^I agree... I was never a fan of the glass-eyed ones.
I just got Mini Julie (a friend picked her up at AGP for me) and I like her quite a bit more than I figured I would. Her hair is just SO silky and soft! The little outfit is well made, but something about it makes the mini doll look stockier than she is. But she's adorable anyway... the little jeans kill me, and her face is really sweet.

I have the Julie mini doll. I don't like her shoes. I don't think AG is really careful with the mini dolls because once I got a Samantha mini doll and when I opened the box, she only had one shoe! I know someone didn't steal it because the box was in sealed plastic.

I have Mini-Julie. A friend bought the Julie book set when it came out, but she didn't want the mini-doll that went with it. She knew I collect dolls, so she sent her to me.
Mini-Julie generally stays on top of the armoire with the collectible dolls because of her small size. She's best friends with my late 70s-era Holly Hobbie doll who is about the same size. I think she's darling, with her pretty braided hair. I can imagine that her shoes would get lost rather quickly if she were played with for very long, but other than that, she's a lovely doll.
