This item was introduced at Julie's debut in 2007 and retired in August 2014, when it was replaced with the second (BeForever) version.
In times of change, Julie’s accessories keep her upbeat: A crocheted cap, A shiny gold necklace with a “Julie” name charm, A faux-suede purse with printed flower detail, A pretend Bicentennial quarter — a collectible coin that was issued to celebrate the 200th anniversary of America’s independence.
(retired8/28/14)
I bought Julie's accessories along with the doll since that saves a little money. The crochet cap is pretty cute- I think Julie looks better without it though. Her purse is nice and think- feels like real leather, it snaps closed. I left the bicentennial quarter in it's bag- I usually end up losing the coins. I like the necklace a lot- it's nice heavy metal. Looking at pictures I thought it would be like stamped aluminum or something, but it is good quality. I wish it was a little longer- seems a little tight on her turtleneck.

Yes, have to have Julie's accessories. That necklace is such a perfect mid 70's accessory! Julie wears her name necklace with lots of outfits. Julie's Meet Accessories - hat, purse, 1976 quarter, name necklace

The only thing I don't like about her Meet accessories is that she has a 1976 quarter when her stories take place in 1974. That's probably nitpicking, but it bothers me. Unless I'm just uninformed and they produced bicentennial quarters for a few years before the actual bicentennial in 1976. Does anyone know?

I know for a fact that one of her books (Julie's Journey) takes place during 1976, as does Changes for Julie.

I agree Julie's necklace could be a couple links longer, I kept worrying I'd snap it when I was trying to get it on her!
I think her accessories really complete her 70's look.

She's cute enough without, but her accessories really do 'make' the outfit. hat: my mum squeed over this when I pulled it out. It's a cute colour, and fits nicely. It's not hugely versatile, but I can see it maybe going with the dog walking outfit. I'd love a person sized one, but I think I'd look terrible in it, unlike Julie. grade - A necklace: this is sweet, sturdy enough (not cheap aluminium or worse, painted plastic), and goes with lots of things. Just nice. It *is* a little short with her turtleneck though, but this is remedied when it's paired with other outfits. On the other hand, it's supposed to go with her meet outfit, so it should fit. grade - A- bag: this is my favourite bit. sturdy, cute, feels like the real thing, snaps shut. Stays on her shoulder well too. Again, I want a person sized one! grade - A quarter: maybe this is lost on me as I'm not american, but I just found it...boring. Felicity's bit, at least, was interesting and historical, but a quarter? Whatever, it's realistic enough. grade - B total - A-, good set

quarter: maybe this is lost on me as I'm not american, but I just found it...boring. Felicity's bit, at least, was interesting and historical, but a quarter? Whatever, it's realistic enough.grade - B The US quarter was redesigned for our country's 200th birthday celebration in 1976. The new quarter was dubbed the "Bicentennial Quarter" because of the bi-centennial (two-100) birthday of the United States. It was ONLY made that one year, 1976. It's a very special quarter and has never been made since. So it is relevant to Julie's stories, although not the first few. When she goes on the "Wagons, Ho" in Julie's Journey, that takes place in 1976.

I love the hat. It's cute, but when Julie sits. it slips off, so #28 usually wears it with the licorice play outfit. The purse seems kind of big, but I reall like it. The neclace barely fits wth the outfit, but I was surprised at how good quality it is. The coin is very realistic, and very cute.

I love this set, particularly the purse, which I had one very similar at that age. I use the purse with several of my doll's outfits. It's faux suede and really soft.

As others have said, the necklace is a tight fit, a pain, and that's why I have not taken it off even once since putting it on her when I got her for Christmas. It's heavier than I thought it'd be though, so I'll give AG that. I remember having a name necklace myself once, when I was a kid, except it was silver instead of gold like Julie's. Her bicentennial quarter is not as interesting to me as say, Felicity's bit, or Josefina's jola coin, but I understand that it too has significance. The remainder of this set, the hat and the purse, I absolutely love. The hat fits perfectly on Julie, and the purse, since it's versatile, gets a lot of use. Overall, I find this set to be well worth the $24, so those of you who usually get the dolls' accessories should definitely get Julie's. Grade: A (some points taken off because of uninterestingness of quarter and tightness of necklace)

I'm soooo glad that I bought these when I bought Julie a few months ago. The purse is similar to one I remember having although I do wish AG had embroidered the flowers on. I guess from P C days I'm always looking for that one extra inch . The necklace is great, I had a name one too- they were all the rage. I've seen the new set and I'm glad I got this before it was gone.
