My Ivy was an eBay girl in barely-played-with condition. She's from about 2008. I just received her in the mail today! Her hair is beautiful. Somehow when I thought "short" I was imagining hair like Nellie's, which Ivy's definitely isn't. I haven't tried styling it yet. It does look very nice down. I especially love Ivy's eyes. They totally change the look of the Jess mold, in my opinion.

My best friend got her for her niece this past Christmas. Although she's a cutie I didn't find her to have much play value. Perhaps it's just me because I'm not use to dolls with short hair. Her hair is very soft and silky but doesn't have too much style potential. Her ear plugs really don't bother me. I can see why collectors would have a problem with it but I don't think kids really care. My friend's niece didn't notice them.
Her outfit is ok. I like the shirt the most. The pants weren't too bad either. I think I like them better without the boots. I think her undies are the worst part of the outfit. I like the boots but not with the the pants.

My DD7 got Ivy for Christmas from my very generous aunt Life is so busy and I never got around to taking decent pictures of Ivy to post here until today... I was sewing a dolly outfit and needed a model and my DD voluntered Ivy. I do not have pictures of her in her meet outfit since as soon as my DD opened the box and removed the doll from it, the outfit came off and was never put on again... My DD says she thinks the outfit is pretty but just not her favorite... Here is Ivy, absolutely beautiful doll. I give her an A+. The plug in her ear lobe is not a problem with us. We don't even notice it to tell you the truth... We highly recommend Ivy. She is beautiful, has fun earings, her hair is beautiful and easy to care for and her eye color is unique!

I just got my Ivy from the Seattle store on Saturday and she has clear plastic circles behind her earrings now and not the flesh colored ones! They come right off when you take her earrings off

I just got Ivy today at the opening of AGP Columbus. She also has the clear plastic circles behind her earrings, and they do come off. I will post pics and review later, she hasn't come out of the box yet!

My daughter will receive her first American Girl doll for her 8th birthday in November. Initially she picked JLY 30 (as the doll that she felt looked most like her--she is Chinese). I ordered the doll and was not happy. Her "Black-Brown" hair is definitely brown. And her eyes are really unfocussed, which drove me crazy. I then purchased a #4 (ebay) and love her, but I know my daughter will want a new doll from the catalogue. A few weeks ago she saw pictures of Ivy in outfits other than her meet outfit and fell in love with her. Since I really wasn't happy with the #30, I decided to just bite the bullet and order Ivy. I waited on pins and needles for her to arrive, hoping she wouldn't have the same unfocussed eye issues and I am happy to say that she came and I love her! Her meet outfit is truly bizarre--the shirt looks like something a 50 year old woman might have worn, but that's no big deal since I make doll clothes. I'm not crazy about her hair cut, but the hair itself is very silky and all in all the look has kind of grown on me. Her face is adorable! While she has the same face mold as #30, the eyes definitely look different and her hair is actually black. Below are pictures of Ivy with both #30 and #4, as I thought side by sides might be helpful for people trying to decide between these dolls.

My Ivy is a modern girl with added freckles. I love her wig a lot, even though you are pretty limited in what you can do with it, because it makes her a great traveller! It looks neat almost all of the time, and her bangs keep pieces from falling in her face. I also love that she has decal brown eyes instead of pinwheel, and that she has a true black wig rather than dark brown. One of my favorite dolls in my collection for sure, and my 2nd favorite Jess mold, behind only Jess herself http://instagram.com/p/CBtKJDis2u6
