Same here with the older version - once the candles are IN, they're there for good! I wish I had thought to sand them down a bit beforehand.

The tower itself is solid - wood - however, the storage bins are covered CARDSTOCK. Tower Description/sides: Front: shelves + bins (2) Side (R): Knobs/pegs for hanging items Back: hooks for holding doll Side (L): mirror, full-length Bottom does NOT swivel, which is too bad because I thought at first that it would/should. The earring tree is super cute and is plastic.
I should ADD that the bins are completely removable and their "slots"could be used as shelves. I've also been thinking that it shouldn't be too difficult to get a little round ball-bearing thingie from the hardware store to make the unit into a lazy-susan type display (like on Addy's table).

I just picked this up at AGP Dallas and it is VERY cute! There are two plates with slices of pumpkin pie, which are NOT removable; a bowl of Halloween candy, and two drinks with straws. There's also a fuchsia-colored tray and an orange trick-or-treat bag which can be decorated with enclosed stickers. The set was $24.
