another note on historical accuracy... girls addy's age and especially her class probably wouldn't have had a hoop skirt/crinoline, though many girls wanted to wear them. Sometimes girls would save up for one together, and take turns wearing it. I don't know where Addy might have gotten one, if she was busy saving for the freedman's fund or for a gas lamp or whatever. Instead, for "poof" and for warmth, many girls wore petticoats upon petticoats. They were usually white, but oflen also red or black (+ to AG) or made of skirts that were too worn to wear on the outside, not nice enough. A petticoat was oflen worn under the hoop, too, in case a strong breeze caught the hoop and lifted it(I think... I don't remember if this is just for reenacting or how history was.)

I got mine on sale from cyber monday for $15... At least for that price, it's definitely worth it. The pieces will be great for mix and match, and they all look real and well designed. The jacket, especially, seems like something girls would really wear. It is annoying that it didn't come with a shirt underneath, but for the sale price, I'm not gonna gripe about it. If I paid full price, then maybe it would seem like more of a problem.
The hat is a nice material, and big enough to go on easily and stay on. My doll is a bit floppy but she still managed to stand in the shoes, which have straps that hold them onto their feet.
I love all the textures in the outfit-- courderoy, wool, embroidery, the heavy-but-soft pants, the rubbery, nubbly shoe soles, and the velvety band that holds them on. I like the colors all together, personally, though someone was complaining about it.
The pants are a little bit tight, but not enough to be a problem. I think it's because they used some pretty ferocious elastic in the back, that doesn't want to stay stretched out. Besides the waist, I like the pants a lot. They seem like they'll be useful. They were tighter on one doll that tried them than the other, so I guess it also depends on your doll, as well as the elastic.
Hate the book it comes with, though. I'm getting rid of it, no need to have it taking up space. It's titled "petty cash." Something AG might say...
overall, nothing extraordinary given what I expect from AG, but no real problems, either. Since I paid $15 I'm not bothered about the lack of shirt but had I paid full price it would be a problem for me. grade: somewhere between A and B- depending on how much you pay/how it fits your doll.

While I don't have this (yeah I know, it's against the rules, but I know about Karate...) I'll put in about accuracy:
*Gi tops here have the dojo's symbol on the back, so it's fine with me *Yeah, the belts are to short, they're supposed to wrap around twice. And they only have solid belts, no purple-blue or green-blue or student black or anything. Not the best but at least they have a number of belts *I like that they have red and white pants. White is for everyone/beginners here... after you're up to blue belt or so you can buy a red gi if you want *You're allowed to wear t-shirts to karate in the summer, instead of the gi top.

I got this on ebay, and probably overpaid a little ad $20, but that's okay--it's a beautiful dress. I don't have the headband so I'm not reveiwing it.
The color is really rich and warm, and the colors go together nicely. It's nice for fall but it can be worn for other seasons, too, without a problem. In pictures I thought the green stuck out a little too much, but it's better in real life.
The skirt is full, and would be a perfect candidate for having hoopskirts worn under it.
The olny thing that bugs me is that some of the ruffles on the cuff lie forward, but that might be because of how it lay in shipping, and I still will try to press them forward a little with an iron.

Your Girl of Today can tote her sleeping bag along to slumber parties where everyone will be buzzing about the logo on the front that glows in the dark! Or unzip the bag all the way around for two fluffy comforters that are just the right size for her bunk beds.
This sleep sack is nice and thick material. It's lined with flannel on the inside, and the print of the flannel says "perfect pals, best buds, faithful friends, American girls" and has envelopes on it. It also has a pocket on the front, maybe for a book or for her glasses. The outline of the logo girl on the pocket glows in the dark. I was surprised that it still glowed after so long, but it worked fine.
It's a bit of an awkward size because it's sort of wide (hence sleepsack, I suppose) and the doll's head sticks out a bit.
It unzips all the way around to form two blankets, and the zipper works very well. The blankets are meant to go on the yellow bunk beds, which I don't have. In this picture the bottom part is shown lining up and the top part is outside-up.
It has elastic bands on it to hold it in a roll. Mine are a little stretched out, I think, but not too bad. To see the size of it rolled up I put it next to a well-known item--an AG hairbrush.
Overall an A-, would get an A+ if the size were less awkward. If I had the bunk beds, though, I'd give it an A+, because it would be of more use. It's very sturdy, though, and a nice piece. Recommended, if you have the opportunity for one of a good price.

I really like this little nightstand. Mine feels very sturdy, and the drawer slides very nicely. It's nice and heavy, but I'm not sure if it's mattel or pre-mattel.
I got mine secondhand, though, and it came with no door. I'm not sure how it was handled to cause it to come off, but I'm just throwing it out there that it does/can come off.
Still, for the part of the nightstand that I have, I give it an A-. The minus is because the door is off and it looks a bit untidy with her nightgown poking out the front.

I got this when it was on sale, and I would buy it whether it was on sale or not.
Costume: A- very well made. The tulle makes the skirt puff out, and it has gold embroidery (not decals! yay!) and the bodice is lined. The only thing about it that bothers me is the way the tulle on the shoulders sticks up at wierd angles.
Necklace: A- A nice touch, even though it's very simply made. None of the gems have fallen off, and it seems easy enough to fasten. The minus is because it tends to slip down into her neck.
Shoes:B These are very nice. They're stiff, white shoes, and the sole is a leathery material. The elastic bands take it down, though. It's difficult to get the shoes on, even for me, so I don't see how a young child could do it. Maybe ribbons that wrap around and then velcro would be a better way to design them.
Book: A Just a book. I'm sure little ballet-enthralled girls would love it, though.
OVERALL: A-

I was lucky enough to get licorice at a garage sale just after she retired, although without her toy, collar, and pillow, so I'm just reviewing the cat. I'd like to add, though, we have cats and they'd love a bed like that. They tend to like fuzzy or silky materials.
She's fairly heavy, so I think she must be an earlier licorice. Her fur is very soft and her tail is wire coated with the fur cloth, so you can pose it. Her eyes are very cute, and you can arrange her hair, almost enough for it to be considered "styling her fur".
I like Licorice a lot. She's very cute, and looks perfect sitting on a chair in the dolls' house. She's well made and she doesn't shed. I wouldn't pay full price for her, but if she were on sale I'd definetley get her.
Overall: low A or high A-

I got this dress second-hand, so I don't know if it's pre-Mattel or Mattel. Anyway, on to the review:
Overall: A The bodice fits fairly well om my skinnier Mattel doll. Id does have some extra room, but it looks fine. The skirt could use some pocket hoops to make it stand out, but I don't have any, and it looks fine without them too. The fabric is pretty, and it's supposed to look woven. The colors look great with a lot of different colorings of dolls, but it isn't really a mix and match piece in any way. I like that it has side slits for pockets.
