I bought this for my Felicity instead of her nightshift. It's very feminine and beautiful. It looks great on Felicity too. The nightgown has a nice shape to it, the slippers are smooth satin, and the cap is very pretty. I highly recommend it.

Invitation and Fashion Doll I I really love this doll and although I paid a pretty penny for her, I have no regrets. The reviews pretty much covered it but just want to add that if you can find this one, I think it's nicer than the second version. It has a timeless quality to it and I love the spool shaped head.

I only have the pitcher and bowl from this set but they're beautiful and simple. They're very solid and heavy too. I don't know if there's a difference between the Mattel and Pleasant Company versions (I have the PC versions of the pitcher and bowl). Regardless, I highly recommend.

I finally won this item on EBAY. It's hard to find on the secondary market but totally worth it. I really love this piece. I won it with Addy's pitcher and bowl so that was an added bonus. It goes perfect with Addy's bed and it's very well made. It's taller than Josefina's night table and has more storage space with having the shelf down below. I highly recommend it.

The Silver Belle dress arrived yesterday for my DD. She LOVED the dress. The only problem is that it's very long on her. She said that she "will grow into it" and doesn't want to return it. I understand this dress is supposed to be calf length. It literally hits her ankles. The top fits fine, it's just the length. I'm hoping she'll grow a little before Christmas. I could order the dress in a size 8 and see how that one fits or just suck it up and keep the one that I have and not worry about it. It looks like a ball gown on her and she's not bothered by the length.
ETA - I ordered a size 10 in the dress. She's a size 8 but sometimes wears a size 10 depending.

My DD has these and while playing with them, one of the lenses popped out. I called AG customer service and they are sending out a replacement pair. They are cute and really seem to suit my DD's Kit. Just wanted to warn you guys about the lense issue - hopefully it won't happen to anyone else.

I picked up Marisol (without “Meet” outfit) from EBAY. She is in like new condition. She is one of the most stunning dolls we have. That is high praise as we have some stunners in our collection. Marisol has gorgeous coloring, a beautiful face, and tremendous hair. Her hair has great volume, length, and wave to it. When people say “everyone needs a Jess”, I disagree and say “everyone needs a Marisol”. No imperfections with this one – just an all around stunning doll. A+

I picked up Ivy from a craigslist ad. She was in like new condition with the exception of her legs. She had some staining on her legs from her “Meet” outfit pants. I was able to get the stains out with multiple treatments of Remove Zit. I’m probably one of the few who actually like her “Meet” outfit. I like that it's funky and she’s one of the few dolls who can pull it off. Ivy is really “cute”. She has an adorable face and her eyes are very pretty. The only drawback is her hair. I’m not crazy about it because there’s not much that you can do with it. It also feels more synthetic and fake than hair on some of our other dolls. It does make her a low maintenance doll though. I give her a solid B. She missed an A mark because of her hair (would have liked a longer length so there could be more styling options). ETA - The more I'm around Ivy, the more I'm enjoying her. She's one of those dolls you may not instantly fall in love with but she definitely grows on you more so than other dolls. She's actually becomming a fast favorite for me. Don't let the shortcomings with her hair stop you from getting her. She's truly a gem.

I found this set at a Flea Market today. My set is the older version with the creme colored handle on the magnifying glass. It's a very cute set but can get very expensive on the secondary market. I'm not sure if it's worth paying the high secondary market prices for. I paid less than retail but I'm missing the flower press. The nicest piece in the set is the basket pack. That piece in particular really stood out to me as very well made and unique. The flowers and butterflies are nothing special but the basket pack, butterfly net, and magnifying glass are really cool.

I just found the Pleasant Company version (looks exactly like Sail Away's trunk) of the trunk at a flea market and wow, what a fantastic piece this is. It's definitely heirloom quality. It's a heavy piece and extremely well made. It's not ideal for clothing storage but I love the drawers and the shelves. It's simply a beautiful, timeless, very high quality piece.

I just picked up this set for my Anna to match Emily's pajamas. I was on the fence about this set since none of our other girls have a robe with slippers. I also didn't feel it was a "necessary" clothing item. I had this on my "wish" (maybe someday) list but upon seeing it in person, I just had to have it. This set is worth every penny in my opinion. The robe and the slippers are both very thick and incredibly soft. The quality is amazing and it looks fantastic on Anna with the pajamas. Very highly recommend.

This is actually my favorite Lanie outfit. It's true that the pants bunch up upon putting on the boots but otherwise I have no complaints about this outfit. It looks simply adorable on Lanie and all pieces are very good quality. The t-shirt is the best piece in my opinion - love the color and the embroidered owl. If you get nothing else from this outfit, at least try to pick up the t-shirt somehow.

I did not buy this set but saw it at the AG store in Atlanta. I will add my observations though since there's only one review. This set didn't impress me much overall. The jacket, book, and binoculars were nice but the bug jar was much smaller than I expected. My DD actually only liked the bird book from this set. Will I buy this set for my Lanie? No, I won't. I do think the jacket is cute if the jacket is badly desired but otherwise I think you can find similar items for Lanie (a different nature book, a homemade bug jar, etc.) that would work just as well.

Styling Center Item# F6561 $32 Girls can create the latest doll hairstyles with this unique doll-sized center. From curls to braids to ponytails, girls can explore new hairstyles for their dolls with everything here: 2 claw clips, 2 barrettes, 6 mini clips, 6 ponytail holders, 25 elastics, 8 bobby pins, 2 bow clips, 6 rollers, 2 loopy ponytail holders, A hair pick, A pretend product bottle, A set of styling tips, A green-colored caddy for carrying it all My DD has it and it does keep all of her hair stuff organized. I found it through craigslist and then added some of the hair items as replacement parts. If you do hair play a lot and you need a storage caddy for your hair items, then I would recommend it, especially if you can get it for less than retail.

This set was one of my "must have" items on my wish list and I'm so glad that I finally won it on EBAY. It is a charming set and very well made. The other reviews pretty much covered it but I will say that I don't recommend this set for children. The pieces for inside the box can get too easily lost along with the basin (although very thick and sturdy) maybe getting broken in the hands of a child. This set is a must though for Josefina collectors. It really ties into her stories and also looks beautiful on her bedside table.

I picked up this dress on EBAY from the original owner. It's tagged Pleasant Company 1993. I don't know if there's a difference between the Pre Mattel and Mattel versions. I love the simplicity of this dress. The lace detailing is wonderful and I like that it's white with pink accents. It's beautiful and feminine without being obnoxious or too girly. I give it a solid A.

Second Version
AmericanDreams wrote up a pretty comprehensive review. I too was confused by the leather cloth. I am using it as a liner for the basket. This set does have good play value but agree that the oven itself looks kind of cheesy. I'm not impressed by the oven (would have preferred more of a clay type feel to it instead of smooth plastic) but the other pieces to this set are very well done. I especially like the woven runner and basket. My DD and DS thought the set was "cool" so I think kids may have a different opinion on it than adult collectors. It does work well with Josefina and does remind me of the ovens I saw as a child going to the pueblos in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

I bought the Sugar set through Barnes and Noble. Sugar is for Anna (JLY21) and I'm saving the postcard set for my DD for when she goes away to camp. For the price (around $17), it was a good deal. Sugar does not come with a collar/leash though so if that is important to you, then I would buy the Sugar through AG. Sugar is very cute. She is lighter in weight than I expected (lighter than Coconut and Licorice). She also seems to be have a big head in comparison to her body. She is very soft and fluffy though. The postcard set is adorable and includes stickers of Sugar, etc. It's very girly so I know my DD will enjoy it. Overall a good set for the money and a very cute AG pet.

I bought this set from a board member NIB. It was worth every penny. My DD really loves this set. Her Daddy is an artist so that may be one of the reasons why - she paints a lot and is pretty knowledgeable about painting. She has her dolls paint and also uses it for art class when she sets up doll school. It's a great accessory piece and I highly recommend especially if you have a child who is interested in painting.

We picked up this set for $22 - pants, top, shoes, bracelet, paper goody bag, and doll tote. I believed they reduced the price since we were at the last AG Fashion Show for the weekend. We didn't have plans to buy this set but for the price, we thought it was worth it. My DD had Ruthie in it and it looked really cute on her. The shirt seems a little tight though and the shoes may be hard for some kids to put on but otherwise a great, simple outfit. Lots of mix and match potential.

I bought Addy's bed for Anna. I bought it without Addy's quilt. I picked out a quilt set from an Etsy seller instead that looks great with it. Addy's bed is very nice. I'm happy with it. The first bed I received was defective (the headboard did not fit into the footboard) so they sent me a replacement (immediately - great service). The replacement had no issues. The only thing that I thought was strange was that the screws did not go all the way in from the footboard to the headboard. We tightened them to the maximum and if we tried to tighten any further it probably would have caused problems down the line like cracking to the wood. There's no issues with wobbly legs and overall the bed is stable. I like the style of the bed - very simple and timeless.

I ordered this outfit with Jess in mind. I think it will be perfect for her. It's a great value at $24 (dress, shoes, headband, bracelet, book), especially with free shipping. It's really adorable too. I highly recommend. I think it's very well put together by having the matching bracelet and headband with shoes that picks up the same pattern from the dress, etc.

We received Jess from EBAY. She came to us in fantastic condition. I originally rated her a high B because I thought her eyes appeared uneven but as time has worn on, I've gotten used to her and thus move her grade up to a solid A. I think she's an all around great doll and I'm so glad that I picked her for my DD. She has a sweet face and is just in general very unique. I really love her hair especially. It's a beautiful color and a nice length for styling. It has good thickness to it as well.

I highly recommend this set of animals. Each animal is very well made and simply adorable. They are soft and furry. I’m not keeping the owl or butterflies as my DD is only interested in the fox and squirrel. Regardless, this is a great set and worth the cost in my opinion. My DD has other AG animals and these animals to me, are far more unique.
Note: The owl and butterflies have been sold to another board member. I had a lot of inquries about the owl - must be a popular want item on this board. It's really cute - definitely worth it if you can work it out.

I won this dress on EBAY new in box. I'm so glad that I bought it. I give it a solid A. You get a lot of pieces with this outfit - barrette, necklace, tights, dress, shoes - so it's worth it. It looks fantastic on my Anna (JLY21, she's early 1900's) too. I don't have any complaints about this outfit other than maybe the sleeves of the dress being a little long. The shoes are adorable and one of the easier pairs of AG shoes to put on actually. I love the fit and light pink color of the dress and the nice detailing with the hairbow and the necklace, etc. It's just a very classic, timeless outfit.

I ordered this doll online from American Girl since she is no longer available in the stores. I would have loved to have hand picked her. She is a very pretty doll. I have no regrets about choosing her - and believe me, it was a tough choice. She has a timeless look about her and I love her hair and eyes. Her hair, especially, is what makes her special. It's a great length and falls into the sweetest curls. It's a very nice color too. She is just sweet and innocent - reminds me of a little girl.

My DD received this outfit for Christmas even though she doesn't have Julie. She loves everything about the outfit except for the tights. She didn't like that the tights were red and prefers to dress her dolls without them wearing the tights as part of the outfit. We have tried it on all of her dolls and it looks good on all of them. I think it looks the best on Kit though. The tights have already snagged and thus we will need to replace them if my DD desires them but she doesn't seem to care.

We have this set and I agree, it's overpriced at full retail. My DD mainly uses the backdrops and easel as a TV for her dolls. She uses the camera for "school picture day" for her doll school. She very rarely uses the pedastal - right now it's serving as a large "present" for her dolls. She used it for its intended purpose when she first received it but now rarely sets up her pets for portraits.

My Aunt bought this for my DD while she was at the store in Dallas a few days ago. This is not a very substantial review since we don't have it yet but wanted to share her impressions. She thought it was "very cute." She liked the Nature Girl message on the tee and said it was a nice shade of green. She liked this set best of all the Lanie t-shirt sets offered.
ETA - We returned it since it was too small on my DD. It was a nice set though.

This is by far one of my daughter's favorite outfits for not only Kit but for her dolls in general. She has many AG outfits but this one gets probably the most "wear" time. Kit wears it an awful lot but she'll put her other dolls in it as well. It's very well made and it looks great on Kit in particular. It brings out the blue in her eyes. My daughter likes the bunny pattern. It is very playful. I highly recommend it, especially for Kit.
