I have a fat little PM Molly and the Mattel version of this outfit. Thus, the shoes won't fit with these socks- her meet ones, however, work fine.
I, too, think the shoes are the best part of this outfit! Simply adorable.
I also really like the crown though. I'm not sure why everyone else is so down on it. It's very cute and fits her great.
I think the skirt is perfect but the leotard could've been made better. I also prefer the older version's star colouring.
Overall, A+ for this cute dress!

I love this doll. Nadezhda is beautiful. Definitely my new fave.
I must say her coloring is really well done. She's so unique!
Her hair is gorgeous but a bit thin. Texture-wise it's somewhere between Rebecca's curly and Samantha's wavy.
Best AG purchase in a long time. A+++
Lots more photos of her on her blog, the daily Dezhi (link in siggy).

The Emily doll quickly became one of my favourites. Mine isn't an Emily anymore, but still can review. She has wonderful hair in length and style, though to me it already feels a bit dried out, and I've only had her about 6 months. (ETA: As I posted photos I thought about it- this is probably my fault for exposing her to salty air at the beach.) She looks good in everything. Really no complaints here! I certainly don't regret getting her, and wouldn't hesitate to do so again! A+! She's Felicity's sister at our house. They look related, but not too similar to keep them both! If you notice, Lissie's hair is darker and their faces aren't so alike. She looks really great hanging out with Rebecca, in my mind. Even better than being paired with Molly. My Emily is now Madalina, and is also Jewish:

After drooling over other members' photos for about 6 months, I caved and got her on my birthday trip to AGP this weekend. She doesn't disappoint. I think she's the most exciting doll I've received since my new-condition PM Sam last year! #38 has lovely hair, it's not very thick, but it's beautifully straight and easy to manage. My only complaint on the ENTIRE doll is the bangs. After being in her box for however long before purchase, her bangs had static-clung to the lid and so they're sorta stuck that way. A little water and brushing gets them to do right but I haven't found a more permanent solution yet. This girl is just gorgeous and looks good in anything. I've been staring at her for two days now. lol But you don't need to listen to my babble. Just see the below pics! I give her an A++++++++! She's perfection. Here she is after a successful day of AGP purchases: Getting a change right out of the box (I despise the new meet outfit!): Close up: She's great in the Ruby and Ribbons dress: She likes to be outside, hates all this mountain rain: I also recommend the PWP, she looks good in white (and everything else): Gah, I love her! Hope the photos are okay, they're off my phone.

Love Kit. There's nothing to say, she's just wonderful. I'd recommend her to anyone, not just little ones who are bad with hair.

Question...Is the hair shape, length, and texture (basically everything but the colour and part location) identical to Emily the historical? It looks that way...Maybe 40's hair is a bit shorter?

I don't own this, but my best friend does, and I've borrowed it for my dolls.
I can honestly say this is one of THE WORST AG outfits I've ever come across, aside from the shoes. The fit is all wrong. The faux fur hangs from the ends of the sleeves and skirt him so heavily and unnaturally. Truly bothersome. As OP mentioned, there is not undershirt, and the top itself is so loose and short that it looks ridiculous unless the doll is standing perfectly straight and linear. The collar poofs up easily and looks funny. The clasps are bizarre. This is one of the first modern AG dresses I came into contact with in person, and it really made me all the more inclined to stick to the historicals.
Grade? D. On a good day.

Am I the only one who LOVED this set?
As a rule, I NEVER buy the accessories with the doll because they're so expensive. But I went to AGP and saw all the accessories in person, and hers were the ones I had to bring home. I only have Samantha's, and admittedly want Kit's. But Emily's is just as beautiful.
I love the dog tags, my Emily is always wearing them. I'm never excited about the girls' coins, but everything else in this set makes up for that. The ration book is sweet and fascinating. I ADORE AG sweaters and this one is a great addition to my sweater collection. They're so petite and versatile, I just love them.
And the little photo album! It's probably the best little piece of any of the AG trinkets I own. It's solid and believable for that time period. I love how you get to arrange the photos yourself. Especially if a young girl is getting this set- it is designed so that a real kid is placing the photos...just like Emily did!
I am so happy with this purchase.
A+

A+++++++
I could not recommend this enough! It looks great as a modern set, and for Emily. Looks great on any doll, too.
It's the highest quality and softest and in my opinion cutest AG pajamas as well. The only problem at least with my set is that the buttons seem dangerously loose sometimes. I'm always afraid one might pop off as I'm buttoning up a doll.

A+ Samantha dress. Like someone else said, it's more casual and I think it's really great that it's a two-piece outfit. The pinafore goes with any other nice dress, AG or not. And the blue dress is wonderful by itself.
This dress looks good on any girl, even the ones who otherwise look good only as moderns. Essential outfit.

A bit thinner than I expected when I first got it, I'd seen it before in person and remembered it thicker...perhaps my friend's had a 1986 version, mine has no date, just says "Made in Hungary." Also it doesn't look good on blonde dolls! Otherwise it's great! B+

I don't like mini's because AG tries to make them proportionally accurate to the bigger ones and in the process this somehow makes them look funny. But I received the Elizabeth Mini as a gift from someone who only knows I collect AG and have Elizabeth, and I'm happy I got her because as far as the mini's go, she's adorable! Most of the minis I would give a C but Elizabeth deserves a B+!
The attention to detail is there, and the shoes and socks are soo cuute! If you are into minis this is THE mini you HAVE to have! Or if you have the big Elizabeth she is a very cute companion to her.
It's my opinion not to take the hair out though because mini hair is quite cheap quality compared to the 18 inch girls.
Also, once you remove the shoes, expect them to fall off a lot. For some reason they don't fall off easily until you remove them once.

Elizabeth was my first doll, and the first really expensive purchase I saved up my own money to buy. I got her with babysitting money saved over a long time. I really wanted an AG and it had to be Elizabeth! She had just come out and I was ecstatic. I loved Felicity's time period, and I have blonde hair and the name Elizabeth! A++ But I'm just sentimental. Those pincurls got brushed out because I was younger and dumb enough to try to brush them. xD But otherwise her hair is phenomenal. Love my Elizabeth!!!! The dress gets a B just because I don't think it's that pretty. The color is strange and the yellow ribbons on the center with the pearls on them, fray easily. Be careful with the dress!!

Okay, let's be honest, the meet outfit is fugly. It gets a D from me. The pattern is nice enough, so maybe if it was a different, softer fabric I could tolerate it more. But it just seems so fake and toy-ish. Admittedly AGs are toys but the company used to strive to make things realistic. This meet dress doesn't cut it. The doll however, is precious. She looks younger than the rest of the historical girls for some reason, I think it's the eye-hair-face mould combo. But she's adorable and the eyes don't bug me. She looks great in everything...even that horrid new meet dress. : I love my Lissie!

My Sam came off eBay, and while the doll itself is PM, I am not sure about anything that came with her being original to the doll. That said, I'm not sure whether I am reviewing PM accessories, Mattel accessories, or a combination of the two. I have never been especially thrilled with any of the historical accessories, especially for the price. While I do consider Sam's to be one of the better accessory lots, it still has some issues. It gets a B from me because... Hat: It is adorable and goes with many of Sam's outfits (and other dolls), but gets fuzzies stuck to it quite easily, and the circular piece of ribbon does not stay around the rim of the hat well; it often ends up tangled in back with the other ribbons or you end up jamming it into place on top of the hat, causing the little fringe-loops to get tucked in. The ribbons that hang behind fray easily and the darker felt ones turn dirty-looking quickly. Locket: Beautiful, no problems with it for me. Mine didn't come with photographs inside though, wish it had. I don't like pinning it on dresses because it leaves little holes. Would be nice if it was some other kind of snap-on. Penny: Never seen the point of these, since they are human-sized. I think I have an original one though, why they would switch over to replicas is beyond me. Purse: Maybe because it's old (I think this piece of my accessories is PM), but the chain snapped almost as soon as I got it, and I am gentle with my collection. Maybe I could send it in for repair or have my dad fix it...Otherwise it's nice, but like someone else said it's that very cheap, thin faux-velvet material. Hanky: Nice but a bit big. The design is lovely, but I think mine is not PM and I'd rather my whole set have been PM. Not AG's fault though, but me buying on eBay. Edited to add hanky. Like I said, overall B from me.

I don't know what is wrong with me. I loved Nellie and wanted her so desperately...until I got her. All the catalogue photos attracted me to her because she was simply adorable in them. But once I opened her for myself, I didn't like her anymore. Something's wrong with me! I adore Samantha but her little bff is not my taste for some reason! I never much liked her meet outfit before I got her but thought I could work with it...I can't. It's so NOT blue, and though others have assumed it's post-adoption it seems pre-adoption to me- Bleck! The collar pops itself and I wonder if it's safe to iron it down? I do not like how it shows so much of her neck...I have never seen dresses that did that in 1904...they were usually high-collared and this dress would have looked better perhaps with something like Samantha's tea dress neck-line. Maybe I just need to bond with Nellie? I have only taken a couple photos of her, while the rest have their own albums by now! And even those photos she is just in group shots...She did arrive to me at a busy time in life- the holidays. And I was still marveling at Felicity who was a late birthday present from November. I don't know, I guess I just need to pay her more attention and see if we 'click.' At the moment I give her a B-

One of my favorites. Looks good on any doll. Goes great with Elizabeth's meet shoes. Worth it completely! A+++++
I love the pleats in the back! I also like how the jacket can be worn by itself and look nice! (Here on Sam as a winter coat.)

Kirsten was my fourth. I bought her literally 3 days before AG announced her archival and let me tell you I was ecstatic! I got her new off of eBay for $89.99 and just a few days later you couldn't find her for that anywhere! I'm sure the seller is still kicking themselves though!
She is beautiful. I love her braids, and when I don't, it's easy to take them out and let her hair down. It's gorgeous and wavy and she looks cute in just about anything! She looks best in period piece clothing but still is adorable in modern wear. I just love her!
My only complaint with her is that I could never re-loop her braids exactly right to have the milk-maid do. I like dressing all my girls up as they looked when they were brand new, and I can never seem to do this with Kirsten because of that.
Her meet outfit is probably the most durable of any of the historicals. A small issue for mine though is the white parts of the sleeves tend to flip up. They are easily tucked back down but you would think AG would've sewn that part down!
Still...solid A for Kirsten!

I got Sam just last year from eBay...very good price in wonderful condition. Imagine my joy upon opening her and discovering she was PM!! The eBay listing hadn't mentioned it.
I wanted Samantha ever since my best friend in childhood had shown me hers and let me borrow her for sleepovers with my first doll.
Ugh she's such a cutie pie I could post pictures of her all day! xD She gets A++ for cute factor, but since she's PM she looks goofy standing next to Nellie...she is slouchy and short in comparison! Makes them look as though there is a huge age gap between the two!

I owe (or blame) Rebecca for getting me back into American Girl. I bought Elizabeth Cole when she came out and loved her for as long as I had her, but had no desire to expand my collection to other dolls, not even Felicity. But then Rebecca came out and I fell in love with her story. I LOVE anything remotely Russian and her family being from Russia + being from the end of Imperial Russian time + being a new historical I just HAD to have her. And then I realized Elizabeth and Rebecca needed more sisters! Anyway I absolutely LOVE Rebecca. Her curls drive me nuts, I suppose I don't go for AG dolls with easy hair (not until I got Sam and Nellie could I actually ENJOY styling). Rebecca is a charmer and if you do not have her, but are a collector -especially of historicals- Ms. Rubin is a MUST HAVE! P.S. -Anyone tried putting her meet dress on Elizabeth? I had a feeling about it and tried it almost immediately. I think Rebecca's meet dress looks killer on Lizzie!! Try it, try it!

I got these from my dad for Christmas...he made a business trip to Chicago and walked right in to AGP! I expect a steady stream of dads do this, but for MY dad this was quite an accomplishment! LOL Anyway, I would not personally have bought them because of their price tag. But they are so cute and compliment Rebecca well sitting in her lap, so I'm glad someone gifted them to me. *mod edit to remove dead image link*
