This set is incredibly adorable and very detailed. I love the little book with the illustrations! There are words, sketches and drawings. The little feather pen is very light and thin and I almost didn't see it. Wish this would have been a bit larger and also maybe had some browns or blacks in it. The glass bottle with cork is the best part! I am so glad to have this in my collection at last!

This set was introduced in 2005 and retired in 2011 with Felicity's archival.
AG description: Your doll can serve these tea treats for two at her afternoon tea! Set the table with two real ceramic plates, cloth napkins, and fancy glasses filled with pretend flummery, Felicity's favorite dessert. On the metal cake plate, carefully place the tower of pretend cakes inside the ring of fruit and tarts.
This set is simply adorable! I LOVE it! The goblets are a pretty shade of seafoam green and have a ruffled rim. The tiny tarts and fruit ring is bright and colorful and I think really makes the set. It might have been cute if these were all individual pieces, but with them molded together it ensures you won't lose any of it. Next there is the cake sitting lovely on a silver cake stand. The cake looks like it is lightly dusted with confectioner's sugar. This set also comes with two white napkins faint white print. The two little dishes that come with this set matches her tea set.

I love this little blue coat! The royal blue trim is a nice contrast against the sky blue. I do have a bit of a hard time getting this on when Kirsten is wearing thicker clothing (like her Swedish dirndl which has two layers). The bonnet is very sweet and I love the eyelet lace poking out.

I am not too overly impressed with this. The flashlight does feel very cheap and plastic-y. They could have done MUCH better on that.
BUT... the tiny newspaper makes up for it! I LOVE that part and actually I am going to pad the cushion with something else because I don't want to fold up the newspaper inside and forget about it *hehe*

This set was released in 1987 and retired in 2008 with the first archival of Samantha's collection.
Wicker was the popular summer furniture found on Victorian porches and in garden gazebos. Samantha's table and two chairs are miniature reproductions of pieces that were made at the turn of the century by the well-known wicker designer, Cyrus Wakefield. Plump, comfy cushions in an enchanting cabbage-rose chintz are tied to the chairs with big puffy bows. They're perfect for the leisurely, luxurious life the Victorians loved. Won't you pull up a chair?
I have these, I got them on Ebay though, so they're used. The lady I purchased them from told me she got them back in 1997-98... so considering they are almost 10 years old, they are still in super great condition and the cushions are still fluffy and colors clean and crisp.

I wasn't sure, but is the hat supposed to flip up on the side? I thought it did this because it was in a box that was too small... so I've been trying to flatten it since I got this set...
I like it a lot though... I'm a little disappointed the scarf isn't an actual scarf...its just a piece of ribbon... but other than that, I love the colors and the ladylike simplicity.
I love that its Victorian and elegant but without being gaudy (like the ugly bridesmaid dress)

This set was released in 1987, later revised, and retired in 2001. The paints and paint box underwent an additional modification and were rereleased in 2015 as Samantha's Painting Set. Additional comparisons of this piece can be found HERE.
Even rainy days were fun at Piney Point, if there weren't too many of them! Samantha stitched pine needles into a little tuffet as a spicy-scented memento of her vacation to take back home at the end of summer. Rainy days were perfect for painting, too. Samantha would take out her paint set with its palette, brush, and five tubes of watercolors and paint pictures just like her mother had done in her sketchbook when she was a girl at Piney Point long ago. There are blank pages for you to paint in, too.I got this set off Ebay last month and I really love it! I got the first version with the two compartments and 6 tubes of paints. I love that the paint is actually real and if you wanted to, you could paint a picture. Lydia's book is so lovely as well! The paintings inside are really quite lovely and it gives you a good peek at what Sam was like as a toddler and of course see her Mom and Dad also. ;D Mod edit to remove deleted image links

Samantha's Party Treats were released in 1987, and retired in 2008 with the first archival of Samantha's collection.
Samantha wanted a grown-up party for her tenth birthday party. So instead of a regular birthday cake she had a platter of dainty petit fours and homemade ice cream that was molded into pretty bombes and topped with cherries. Samantha gave each guest two favors: a lacy fan that opened and closed and a nosegay of pink ribbon roses tied in a paper doily with a bow. You can have the same elegant party with four petit fours on a gold-rimmed platter, two ice cream bombes, two fans, two nosegays, and a special plastic holder so Samantha can hold her favors.
I have always loved this set as a little girl and thought Petit-Fours were absolutely delicous and such a ladylike dessert!
Here are photos and my review for "Samanthat's Party Treats"
This set comes with two lacy fans, two ice creams, 4 petit-fours with 4 mini candles, 2 rosettes, a gold rimmed platter, and a doily. It also comes with a plastic accessory holder (not pictured)
The petit-fours. They look good enough to eat! I wasn't sure if the one candle was suppose to look like the red rubbed off, but I sort of like that they're all different. It makes all the roses on the petit fours different.
The ice creams have a rubbery kind of sticky feel to them, so it's kind of like the syrup on top is real! The tiny little cherry is such a cute touch!
Overall Rating: *****
I think the fans are cute, but compared to the rest of the items in the set, they seemed more cheaply made. I think if they had a bit of gold to them it would go nicely with the platter.

Released in 1987 (with Quilt Kit as part of it), modified in 1998 (when Quilt Kit was removed and added to Friendship Quilt & Quilt Kit set), retired in 2007.
For pioneer children, a day without work was a special day indeed. So on her tenth birthday Kirsten was allowed to leave her chores behind and join her friends for a day of fun. Re-create Kirsten's birthday celebration with a hand-carved wooden salt box brimming with field flowers, lots of plump strawberries, and a heart-shaped cake on a wooden platter, just like Mama made.
Includes: - Salt box - Flowers - Strawberries - Heart shaped cake - Wooden platter
I really love this set. The saltbox has pretty carved details and notched edges. The strawberries are dark red and they're slightly speckled looking (so it looks like sugared strawberries) and the cake is firm and looks spongy. The flowers look exactly like the flowers that comes with Addy's "Flower Picking Outfit"

This is one of my favorite Kirsten outfits because it comes with the dress/apron/spoonbag/bonnet... all the colors just blend so nicely. My dress is from 1996-97... its held up very well, but Kirsten doesn't wear it too often so maybe thats why

Some pictures (mine came last night, yay!)
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this set as well! My foot warmer came nice and sturdy and I LOVE how authentic it is! There are patterns along the sides which would have been made with a good old nail and hammer.
My favorite part is the candle holder! I was very pleasantly surprised at how it functions! You raise the candle by sliding the little bar up and then locking the rounded knob into one of the slots. The candle does seem very fake, but what do you expect, it IS a toy candle after all.
Grade: A+! Oh, and the little stories/fables are very cute as well! If you have the patience to read the tiny writing, you should read them!

Well, I have to say I don't think mine is an AG original, I got it on Ebay and there are no AG tags on it, but I don't mind, it looks close enough if not exactly like the real one (I have never seen a tagged one in person, so I don't know how close they are)
Still very adorable, one of my favorite Kirsten outfits

This outfit is worn by Kirsten in the book Kirsten Learns a Lesson. Released in 1986, retired with archival in 2009.
Mrs. Larson probably made Kirsten’s red-print school dress out of leftover material from her own dress—the first mother-daughter styles! Since girls didn’t wear jackets, Kirsten has a plaid shawl that you can tie around her so she won’t get cold on her long walk to school across the prairie. Her outfit includes dark blue woven hair ribbons.
Review: I love how Kirsten looks in this dress. The dress is made from a heavier cotton material (to resemble Calico I suppose?) I also love the little shawl, it is a very nice touch. My only complaint with this set is that the shawl feels cheap... a little slippery even. I thought it would be thicker and more "woolen" like her napkin from her school lunch...

Released about 1987, retired in 2007.
Kirsten’s mischievous adventure began when she was sent to the stream to get fish for supper. First she filled her bait basket with three grasshoppers and a tiny green frog, tying them carefully in the little checkered cloth. Then she took her pole and her wicker basket—an early fishing creel—down to the stream, where she caught three wiggly, slippery trout. If only she’d stayed at the stream and out of trouble!
Review: Holy moly! This is SOO CUTE! Again, another set I got very excited about! The fish are rubbery and their tails are flippy because the rubber is thinner there. The baskets are super cute and the little grasshoppers and frog are simply precious (even got my hubby's approval!) The fishing pole is a bit fragile. It comes in two pieces and you just put them together (it doesn't snap or screw on though) The fishing line is white thread and there is a cute little cork piece and black hook (plastic) so you can pretend you've caught some trout! There is a little loop on the trout mouths so you can attach it to the hook on the fishing pole.

Released in 1986, retired in 2008.
Pack a lunch for Kirsten in this charming oval wooden box. In Sweden, it’s called a “tine.” Kirsten’s father might have carved and decorated hers with its traditional wood-burned design. Pioneer food was simple but hearty. For lunch, give Kirsten a piece of bread, a sausage, a wedge of cheese, and a juicy wild apple. Kirsten’s make-believe food is tucked in the tine along with a woven napkin.
Review: I honestly flipped when I saw this set! The Tine is SOOO cute! The carving details are absolutely precious, it is very well made. I'm not sure if this is actual wood though... it might be plastic that was made to look like wood... none the less... it's adorable! The food set is nice and heavy... not cheaply made. The napkin is thicker material... just love it!

Associated with Kirsten Learns a Lesson. Released in 1986, retired in 2007.
Pencils and paper were scarce in early country schools, so Kirsten did her lessons on a slate. When you play school with her, you’ll see that the slate pencil really works, so it comes with a wiper, too. A ruler completes the school supplies that come in her own brown calico slate bag. Read a tiny version of the original book that Kirsten used when she learned to read English. When Kirsten does a good job in school, you can giver her the Rewards of Merit just like she earned in the story. These were the report cards for girls and boys back then.
Review: Absolutely adorable! I was so very excited to receive this! My favorite pieces are the tiny "Rewards of Merit"... the illustrations are so lovely! My only complaint is that pulling the leather string to close the satchel can be a bit tricky at first... it might tear the leather because it doesn't pull close very easily... maybe it is because I just received this and the leather hasn't been worn yet...

Associated with Addy Learns a Lesson. Released in 1993, retired in 2002. After retirement, the slate and slate pencil were sold with Addy's Double Desk.
Addy’s striped satchel has everything you’ll need to help her practice the “three R’s”—reading, ’riting, and ’rithmetic! Her Union Reader is a miniature version of a real schoolbook used in northern schools in the 1860’s. If you have good eyes, you can really read it! Addy learned to write with a slated pencil and a big double slate. The yarn binding around the slate’s edges kept if from scraping against her desktop and disturbing her desk partner. Addy used a wooden abacus, or “numeral frame,” to learn arithmetic. Slide the little beads back and forth to help her add and subtract.
I purchased this on Ebay therefore it is incomplete, I am missing the Union Reader.
But anyhow, I HAD TO HAVE this because of the adorable abacus!!! I JUST LOVE it!
The pattern on the slate bag is very cute and the abacus is well crafted and just perfection to every detail.
I wish Addy's school supply set came with more pieces, but then I guess that would not be as realistic considering extra school supplies was probably a luxury.

This outfit is worn by Addy in the books Addy Learns a Lesson and Changes for Addy as well as the short stories "High Hopes for Addy" and "Addy Studies Freedom." Released in 1993, retired in 2006.
Inspired by Civil War uniforms of the day, Addy’s blue suit has a white blouse, a flared skirt, and a fitted jacket lined with fabric scraps from Mrs. Ford’s shop, where Momma worked. Polish up the medal Addy won in the spelling match and pin it proudly to her jacket. It says “Millions for freedom, not one cent for slavery.”
Oh wow! Wow! This is a really fantastic outfit for Addy (or for any of your girls) It is made of thick blue material (felt-ish) and the black trim is just so sweet and really adds a nice contrast. I LOOOOVE how the white blouse underneath pokes out from the bell sleeved of the suit jacket. The lining on the skirt and jacket are different swatches of fabric so you really get the feel for how Addy's Momma made this from scraps of fabric from the fabric shop.
The little medal is just SO darling too! This is one of my absolutely favorite outfits!!! The craftsmanship is just wonderful!!!

Associated with Happy Birthday, Addy! Released in 1994, retired in 2009.
Addy’s gift from M’dear was a lovely tin box painted with morning glories and tied with a satin ribbon. Nestled inside were a note and six benne candies made of sesame seeds. They’re make-believe, of course. But the best treat of all came from Sunny, M’dear’s bright yellow canary who lived in a birdcage. His special song seemed to burst with hope and gladness—a reminder to Addy to always “let her own spirit sing out.”
Very very cute! The little yellow bird is just darling! She sits perched in a metal black birdcage. You can unlatch the cage door open and close if you wish. The bird cannot be taken out though.
This set also comes with a pretty flowered tin box filled with beene candy and a sweet note from M'Dear. It is accented with a yellow ribbon.
For some reason I thought the candy box was ceramic from the website and never bothered to read if it was ceramic or tin. It is still so precious though!

Associated with Addy Learns a Lesson. Released in 1993, retired in 2007. Most components were later revised and released in 2014 as Addy's Lunch Pail.
Momma packed Addy’s lunch in a tin pail with a lid on top to keep it fresh. She tied a scrap of dotted fabric to the handle so Addy would know which lunch was hers. Spread out the cheery red-checked napkin and lay out Addy’s lunch. There’s a savory meat pie, a bunch of juicy grapes, and four little cookies shaped into letters that spell out a sweet message!
I absolutely adore this set! I knew I HAD to HAVE it after reading "Addy Learns A Lesson"
The lunch pail is really made out of tin and it's a bit heavy. The food is slightly heavy also and not made of the sticky material like some of the other playfood. The L-O-V-E letters are soo cute and if you have read the book, then you will love them that much more.
The cutest part is the tiny green ribbon with white polka dots. I am a sucker for polka dots and this little detail is just so very sweet!

Released in 1994, retired in 2006. Associated with Addy Saves the Day.
When summer came, the Walker family raised vegetables to earn extra money so Poppa could go south to look for Sam and Esther. Addy used a hoe to keep the garden rows neat and tidy, and a watering can to sprinkle the seedlings as they grew. At harvest time, Addy would heap her basket high and imagine that each ripe vegetable brought her family one step closer together. There’s a bumper crop for Addy to take to market—a bright green cabbage and two plump eggplants, a red tomato, a turnip, and a whole bunch of carrots!
This is an ABSOLUTE MUST for any collector! Mainly because most of the stories have had something to do with a Garden. (Molly's Victory Garden, Kit's Garden with her Aunt etc etc)
I LOVE this set! You have to glue the top part of the hoe on to the stick (it sort of screws in then you glue it)
The watering can RUSTS VERY EASILY! I was showing my kiddo that it really does work and put water in it and didn't get every single drop dry and a day later there are a couple rust stains inside. GRRR. So note of caution, DO NOT PUT WATER IN IT unless you plan on making sure it is completely dry each time!
Grade: A+!!!

This outfit is worn by Felicity in the DVD Felicity: An American Girl Adventure. It was released in 2005 at the Tea Lesson gown and was later called the Tea Lesson Gown & Straw Hat, then retired at Felicity's archival in 2010.
AG description: For Felicity's tea lesson, dress her in this striped yellow gown with scalloped lace and ribbon rosettes. Her straw hat ties behind her head, and satin slippers feature rosettes.
Includes: - Tea lesson gown - Straw hat - Slippers
I really love this shade of yellow, it isn't too bright and pastel-ish, but its not too dark either. The coral pink details accent the yellow very nicely. The dress is actually two shades of yellow, a darker yellow backdrop with lighter yellow stripes. The straw hat is very cute, although I feel its a little "too frilly". I don't like the slippers all that much, it just made the whole outfit "too matchy", I think slippers in a neutral tan almost yellow would have looked nice and instead of rosettes on them, a brocade design in a stitch that slightly contrasts the slippers would have looked lovely. The slippers do stay on well enough, they're not just soft cloth, they are a bit stiff since they don't have backs to them.

The Colonial Tea Set was introduced in 2005. It was later called the Tea Set, and it retired with Felicity's archival in 2010.
AG description: Help Felicity practice serving tea with this exquisite real ceramic tea set - it features a lotus flower motif that was popular in her day. Set includes a teapot, two cups and saucers, a sugar bowl and creamer, two spoons, a metal tray, and wooden tea caddy.
The set is porcelain and brilliant white with gold filligree detail and pink brushed petals motif. It's really very precious and so girly! I absolutely love it! The tea cups do not have handles and the tiny silver sthingys are just darling! The silver platter is VERY shiny almost like a mirror and there is an scroll like engraving on it. It was hard to capture that.
I purchased it along with Samantha's party treats and they both go really well together!
My only disappointment is that there isn't something more unique about this tea set than purchasing another tea set that can fit 18" dolls. Which is why I really loved the now retired Chocolate Set!
