I appreciate the muted colors and the handbag has zippers with 2 functional compartments. Fabric and construction do not feel cheap. The headband is kind of a throw away but as a positive the elastic is super stretchy. This outfit gets an A from me.

Doll #5.
I've been wanting Kanani on and off for the past year; I almost bought her in-store last December when she was sold out online, and finally got off the fence and decided I had to have her. I received her catalog in the mail in Jan 2011 after no AG exposure for 15+ years so I give her credit for reintroducing me to AG as an adult.
She was purchased NIB at a crazy secondhand market price (well at least for me; up to this point all my dolls have been $75 and under). I don't typically use superlatives but this doll is stunning. Unfortunately, it took a bit of work to make her look in tip-top shape as her hair was a complete tangled wreck after removing the wig cap. I am intimidated by the length of her hair (one of the reasons why I didn't get her last year) and she will definitely be a display doll in the household. Her skin tone coloring is perfect and her hazel eyes are bright enough to prevent that beady-look I dislike in Jess. She looks fantastic in her meet dress even though it is very simple and of thin material.
At this point I have to give her an A-. She is beautiful yet her hair IS a bit crazy to deal with.
Update 12/19: Her hair is not as daunting as it seems. I style it regularly with little or no hassle. I'm going to upgrade her to an A!

The necklace is the only worthwhile piece in the set. The bag and satchel are gross quality with poor printing. Luckily I obtained this set as a lot with the doll otherwise I'd be really disappointed at retail price.

Kaya is my third doll. I have an earlier model with the rosier complexion. I'm not sure if Mattel tweaked her mold but in comparison to the display dolls at AGP I think my doll has larger cheeks. The texture of her hair as indicated in other reviews is super dry and frizzy, yet I find it relatively easy to manage with heavy spritzing. Kaya's meet outfit is very detailed and made with a hefty material and her decorative hair shells are not cheap quality. She is a lot shorter than my other dolls, she stands probably a good half-inch below my tallest (Jess) which I believe is due to the lack of length of her neck.
I would love to give her an A+ but the hair and squat stature bring her down to an A.

This set has fun colors, nice craftsmanship and most importantly, it looks good on every single doll I've put it on. Grade: A+.

Julie took me by complete surprise! I recently obtained her used from a board member with the intention of creating a boy custom but when she arrived she was so groovy that I had to think twice about her "operation". Love the face mold/hair/eye combo and the meet outfit has high mix & match potential. The embroidered top is a bit transparent but it could be used as sleepwear. Julie gets a solid A.

I have a PC version and the fabric is thick with nice embroidered detailing but the fit is a bit roomy on all of my dolls though. The hat is a bit of a let down.

I love the bold colors and the collar detailing. Minus points for the stitched on ribbon around the waist that requires some adjustment before it will look right. It has a tendency to cover the bottom front button.
Grade: A

She is my second doll but is the first doll to be purchased directly from AG.
I have had MG for over a month now and haven't unboxed her yet, but I think she's friggin' adorable. She has a sweet expression and I like how the 2 teeth are less pronounced in comparison to the other facemolds. MG is a lot skinnier than my Jess doll and her meet dress is very loose around the bodice. She also has the "old and short" AG body tag. Can't comment on the hair yet since it's still in the hairnet but I'll probably will be taking her braids out once unboxed.
Not a fan of her meet dress. The color is completely off, I doubt hot electric pink was in fashion back in the 1850's. The weird vest/shoulder sausages are an enigma to me. It would give me great satisfaction to snip them off the dress completely but I won't do that.
Doll: A Meet Outfit: C
Her braids remained factory for a whole day before I took them out. Anyone else considering this, beware. The braided hair is unruly and the ends jut out at odd angles. I've been spritz/brushing it for sometime now and it still won't relax.

This is the first AG outfit I purchased along with Addy's Sunday Best. I really like this dress even though some of my family consider it ugly. The combination of the print and shoulder details are unique and remind me of a matador uniform. I have no problems with putting on the socks and shoes, they fit perfectly and slip on easily. A.

I give the whole shebang a B-. Don't like the fit of the pantaloons and I think the skirt stripes are out of scale. I actually like flipping the back of the skirt to front since the pattern forms a "V" instead of parallel lines:

Love her breezy tie-dye skirt and beach sandals. Hair is a bit dry and flyaway with an uneven distribution of hair in the wigcap. I found the wig to be thicker on the leftside part, creating lopsided pigtails. Maddening. I also wish her eyes were a lighter shade as they have a tendency to look beady from afar. Nevertheless, she has a cute and versatile face mold. Around here she's a Peruvian gal.
Overall she is a charmer and I can't complain too much about my first AG.

I like the colors and print of the dress. Too bad the hat is a bit cheap, the brim was already bent out of the box. Wish it came with shoes.
