I wanted to post some pictures I took of the dress and some details and give a brief overview of my thoughts. But ya, check out my blog if you'd like. I have a bit more on my thoughts and an extra picture (I didn't want to clog up my post on the review thread any further lol) 18inchStitch.blogspot.com
AG also decided to add a layer with some tulle under the main dress and it was a very good choice. the under layer helps give the overall look of the dress a better fullness and helps it hold its intended shape.
The fabric is a very rich hot pink with deeper pink ribbons criss-crossing over the waist and around to the back closure and shiny gold dots spread across the front that look like iron-on appliqués. The main color of the dress reminds me of AG's main color they use on packaging and such.
The boots are nice, shiny gold color that matches the dots with mini heels and velcro closures in the back. They feel well made and sturdy. Also, they have Saige's signature flower design embossed/ tooled/ engraved into the outer facing sides of the boots.
The necklace is very cute. I'm surprised AG made the necklace silver vs gold since the rest of the outfit has gold accents but I don't care. I think it looks good together, is a nice simple design featuring an oval with Saige's signature flower design engraved on it.
I snagged this dress when it was on sale and am very glad to have added it to my collection. I was not overly fond of it at first but it has definitely grown on me. Especially after I paired it with the crinoline and chemise set.
Overall, it is very pretty and crisp. I love the color and was glad to see AG branching out into some different choices. Unfortunately, I don't think their attempt with this dress was favored much by consumers. =/
I only have the partial outfit so I am only reviewing the shirt, pants, and shoes.
Shirt: Pro: I think it is really cute looking and I love the color combination. I like the fact it has a lower scoop neckline and I like the little knot detail at the bottom. I have ended up with a lot of t-shirts in my collection so it is a nice change. Con: I wish it was a bit longer because my doll's stomach shows easily (which isn't wrong but I prefer longer shirts). I also have an issue with the bottom hem of the shirt flipping up constantly. I'm wondering if the previous owner of this outfit machine washed and dried the shirt and pants so that may be my issue.
Pants: Pro: They are well made and sturdy. The back is elastic so you can just slide them on. The fabric has a stripe effect. Con: I don't really have any cons. Just style preferences. Im not a huge fan of the length. I wish they were either shorter or a little longer. It looks like they were meant to be long pants but my doll out grew them. Perhaps I am pulling them up to high....
Shoes: I don't have much to say. They are cute and it is nice to have another pair of sandals in my collection to mix and match with. They are sturdy and the elastic band over the heel works really well at keeping the shoes on. Although, I would be wary of taking a doll out for the day in these shoes because they do come off easier than sneakers or ballet flats.
I bought this outfit from a board member and overall I am unimpressed. Don't get me wrong! It is a cute outfit and defnitly something I would have loved to wear when I was around the age of 11 or younger.
Shirt- Its ok. I don't have much to say about it other than "ok". I have not found much I like to match t wth from my dolls' clothes options. On a PM doll it will fit but it is a little snug. B-
Skort- I loooooove it! Love it! Love it! At one point in time, I did own a dark blue skort just like this and I loved that skort. I find this skort has a lot of mix and match potential which is a big plus to me. This also is a bit snug on PM dolls but it does fit over my PM Sam's booty. A
Boots- they are decent but I don't find much they will match. But I do like them because I will use them as a rainboot stand in when completing an outfit. B
If you plan to get anything from this outfit I recomend the skort!!!
