May the luck of the Irish be with you! It’ll be your good fortune to find these accessories inspired by Ireland that include: A faux-leather messenger bag with a shoulder strap and an embossed Celtic knot on the front A metal biscuit tin with three shamrock-shaped shortbread (biscuits—what you would call cookies in the U.S.) A set of three postcards from Ireland A sheet of travel stickers to bring a bit o’ Dublin home All food items are pretend. Retail: $18 Grade: A (only because the items don't fit in the bag and the plastic packaging sucks) https://www.instagram.com/p/CJ2L6R2MfSK I went to Ireland for my honeymoon so it holds a special place in my heart. This set jumped into my cart to reach free shipping. I did not photograph the packaging but will link a thread that talks about it. Mostly unnecessary plastic that may or may not be recycled in your area. Thread here: agplaythings.proboards.com/thread/138017/pics-thoughts-new-items-packaging Bag: I need one of these for myself. It is adorable and the knot imprint is perfect. See photos though. If you put the shortbread tin in the bag, it will not close. I still love it though. Tin: metal. Bottom part is plain gold but the lid has a yellow and green tartan design. Cookies: 3 of them. Shamrock shaped with "cooked" look and texture on the leaves. The back is pale. Plastic. Postcards: 3 of your standard AG postcards. 1 for Ireland, 1 for Dublin, and 1 for rocky cliffs. Reverse features lines for address, blank space for writing a message, a stamp (Ireland has a shamrock stamp, cliffs have a horse shoe stamp, Dublin has a harp stamp), and a note saying made in China. Passport stickers: as of this writing AG has not released a passport that seems to match this collection, but there is a Dublin arrival sticker and a Dublin departure sticker.

Snow Fancy Skirt From AG There's something super glamorous about this long icy-blue tulle ballgown skirt that glitters with tiny silver dots. It has a metallic elastic waistband Retail: $16 Grade: A- http://instagram.com/p/CI-_yBrsA7O This skirt has four layers. Light blue underskirt (serged edge), two layers of light blue tulle (raw edge), and a sparkly, but transparent overskirt (raw edge). Layers sewn together with silver elastic waist band. Plastic AG tag is in a weird place (IMO) but overall nice quality. I think this skirt could be easily replicated by an advanced beginner sewer (i.e. me, but I don't have the time!) I wish they had kept the $15 price tag from older mix and match sets, but this is a lot of skirt so this one I understand the one dollar increase.

From AG Her doll can get all dressed up for winter celebrations in this pretty blue dress. It features long sleeves, a plaid skirt with a silver ribbon at the waist, and a snowflake star design. Also includes a matching silver headband and glittery shoes. Retail: (First debuted on sale for $25 (down from $36), sold in some stores for $5, last chance outlet at $14) Grade: A- http://instagram.com/p/CI9dxsbMl37 Adorable. Embroidered star and snowflake pattern on top with plaid bottom. It is one piece but very put together. Note, outfit does not come with tights but for the online price it should have (maybe that is why it went on sale as soon as it did? Maybe it was supposed to be a PWP?). My only true complaint is the shoes. They are a cheap plastic (and smell as such) with glitter that doesn't like to stay on the shoe. I put the shoes on just for this photo, then put them in a bag for storage. The headband also has some loose glitter, but not nearly as bad as the shoes. For shoes, I prefer the black patent flats I added in the last photo.

From AG Caroling party, school dance, or cookie baking at a friend's house? They all call for a holiday outfit that's comfy but a little bit fancy like this one! Includes: A blue jersey dress with iridescent foil flecks, long sleeves, and a gathered short skirt A white faux-fur vest made even more fancy with a glittery silver belt A pair of tall faux-fur-trimmed white boots A pair of white tights with silver spandex that makes them shimmer A sparkling silver headband Retail: $36 Grade: B- to a B https://www.instagram.com/p/CI9XvDLsI6S It is adorable! Soft blue dress, puffy, furry vest, glitter! It is just too small, even for new dolls like Blaire. The boots have great detail, but are difficult to get on and don't close all the way up the back (see photo) The sleeves don't come all the way down to the wrist and the dress has to be stretched to get the velcro to stick (see puckering in photos) Hairband and belt are made so that the glitter will come off, so avoid if you don't like that. I love the versatility. The belt and vest come apart and the sparkles on the dress are precious. The tights are a little thin in my opinion, but any thicker and the boots definitely wouldn't go on.

Please ignore the pies in the pictures! I thought they went with this but instead go with the city market goodies! http://instagram.com/p/CDhwdP3MUlh http://instagram.com/p/CDhvQt9s2MP http://instagram.com/p/CDhvs77seQN The market is bustling and dolls can sell their pretend fresh food and handmade wares with this set. It includes: A two-tiered market stand made of wood and metal A patterned fabric table runner to use for display A mason jar vase One bunch of flowers Three tiered display boxes for displaying jam, soap, and scones A display cloth for under the scones Four berry scones A jar each of rhubarb jam, apricot jam, and raspberry jam Two scented bars of pine soap and two bars of lavender soap with paper label wraps Two fruit containers with blueberries and strawberries A square sample plate for setting out tastes A jam bowl with a jam sample Three sample scone pieces in cups A metal spreader knife for the jam A two-sided paperboard table sign A two-sided faux chalkboard sidewalk sign A denim apron with a screen-printed graphic and front pocket Five faux dollar bills Two paper business cards Two natural brown paper boxes for packing up goodies One sticker sheet for the sidewalk sign and one sticker sheet for labeling boxes and jam jars Retail: $100 Grade: B I just had to have this set, but not at $100. I got it on sale and I'm sure it will be marked down again before it leaves because $100 is too much for what is here. Honestly, you're paying for the stand mostly. Metal supports and wood boards. It's really nice. The accessories are lacking, but cute. It is nice that pieces seaparate, like the berries from the container and jam from the bowl. But the play value in this set is really the stand. So many possibilities! Because "market" could be used to sell anything, your dolls could sell everything. I do love the apron and the stickers. Also the plain brown boxes you can put the stickers on! That increases the creativity. My two biggest strikes after the cost are the cheap plastic sign and the smelly soap. The sign already has one side written out so you can't change it, with the other side being blank. You're supposed to put stickers on it, but I would have preferred a chalk board. Putting stickers on limits the possibilities and I've never had success removing stickers all that cleanly. And it really is cheap plastic compared to the heft of the stand itself. Secondly, the smelly soap. They told us it smelled, but my nose was not ready when I opened the box! I have sensitivity to smells so I put the soaps outside to air out. They aren't so bad now, but just be warned! So yeah, great, but wait for a sale.

https://www.instagram.com/p/CDhvbBBsE8F https://www.instagram.com/p/CDhwnq-MR6i Dolls can enjoy a perfect market-fresh picnic meal with this set of pretend food. It includes: A striped canvas structured tote with faux leather straps for holding all the goodies A bright silk sunflower Two green apples A loaf of wheat bread with a paper bread sleeve A slate cheese board with a twine cheeseboard wrap and a label A wedge of goat cheese brie with a paper cheese wrap A clear container of raspberries A single-serving cherry pie and a single-serving blueberry pie both in mason jar lids A cloth napkin A bottle of lemonade Five faux dollar bills for spending at the market Retail:$35 Grade: A+ Bag = big and adorable. Holds most everything. Bread is a darker version of Rebecca's challah loaf. Be warned the bread comes in the white wrapper already so it will already be wrinkled. Apples are green version of Caroline's Cheese and slate are so cute, but missing a cheese knife! The silk flower seemed like an afterthought. It has stayed mostly flat regardless of how I try to fluff it out. I love the size of the lemonade. It is large enough that Blaire can hold it with out ties or rubber bands Two pies are cute. Identical in format to Melody's, but one is a new flavor! I highly recommend this set, especially if it goes on sale again.

http://instagram.com/p/CDhQWBHsr2c Nanea’s ‘ohana (Hawaiian for “family“) surprises her with a birthday picnic at Waikiki Beach. She wears this special outfit for the occasion: A sailor-style top with a big green bow A skirt her grandmother made from pineapple-print fabric Two red barrettes with twinkly rhinestones, a gift from her friend Dixie Strappy yellow sandals Retail: $28 Grade: A- I think this set looks great on Nanea. My only complaints are that the skirt is a little too much on the short side and I just think the red barrettes clash too much. Yeah, I know, gift from a friend and I would wear them too, but I find myself pairing them with her meet outfit and hula outfit more than this birthday dress. I love that the skirt and top are separate pieces! You can do a lot of mix and match in Nanea’s collection. Also, the sandels are just adorable! Great for Nanea or a modern girl. Do take a look at my photo showing how the ribbon is attached to the shirt. It does not come off and is not meant to be untied (don't know why you would want to, but just in case, that's the info)

This set includes: A pretty blue stackable lunch pail with a handle, decorated with yellow painted flowers A roll of seaweed-wrapped sushi Two sandwiches Pineapple slices A napkin with a flower detail Retail: $25 Grade: B+ All plastic. The flower print on the pail is only on the one side, solid blue on the other. The napkin has to be folded again if you want it to fit in the pail. The food is more realistic, but the pineapple slices are stuck together. Nice set. I like that there are two sandwich pieces instead of one large one. And the scale seems to be just right for me. But I come from the Plesant Company days and I guess I just wish the pail was metal, or at least had a little more heft than the lightweight plastic that was chosen.

This item was released in 2019.Melody is proud to wear her best jumper to school and then to the bank to close her account in protest of discrimination. Outfit includes: A gray sleeveless jumper with golden metal buttons, real front pockets, and black velvet trim, A three-quarter-sleeved red-and-white striped top, A pair of solid red tights, Two red satin hairbows that Melody sometimes wears to school with her best friend Sharon on their “Matching Mondays”, A pair of shiny black patent Mary Jane shoes.http://instagram.com/p/CDe04dRMqGM From American Girl: Melody is proud to wear her best jumper to school and then to the bank to close her account in protest of discrimination. Outfit includes: A gray sleeveless jumper with golden metal buttons, real front pockets, and black velvet trim A three-quarter-sleeved red-and-white striped top A pair of solid red tights Two red satin hairbows that Melody sometimes wears to school with her best friend Sharon on their “Matching Mondays” A pair of shiny black patent Mary Jane shoes Retail price: $40 Grade: A+ So much to love! Melody is so adorable in this ensemble. The dress has real and deep pockets! I tried to find something that most of us have seen to show the depth of the pocket and the American Girl hairbrush handle goes all the way in. The tights are thick, perfect for Detroit fall weather. And the shoes really are shiny. The undershirt is a fantastic. It does have the little plastic American Girl tag, but the dress doesn't have it. The striped shirt would be a great addition to a modern wardrobe. Lastly, the hair ribbons are not like Melody's other outfit ribbons. Instead of predone bows attached to elastic, these are just plain ribbons. I think this is more authentic, but as someone who has trouble tying bows, I was a little disappointed. Please don't judge my bow tying You won't regret having this outfit in your collection!

Released in Fall 2014.When Kit’s out and about, she always makes sure to bring her favorite accessories: A pretty cuff bracelet, A felt cloche hat trimmed with a wide red ribbon, A purse with embroidered flowers.http://instagram.com/p/CC9tGisMY-J From American Girl When Kit’s out and about, she always makes sure to bring her favorite accessories: A pretty cuff bracelet A felt cloche hat trimmed with a wide red ribbon A purse with embroidered flowers $24 Released in 2004 as part of the BeForever revamp. Grade: B+ I bought this set to go with the BeForever Meet dress. It definitely accents the dress nicely. The hat fits nicely and does indeed have a red ribbon, but it sometimes appears pink in photos. The cuff bracelet is plastic and has a pattern "etched" into surface. The pattern is a nice touch, but the color jars with the green of the dress. It doesn't quite match. The purse at first glance is nearly identical to the original, but it is taller and narrower and has different colors to better match the new dress. Both purses are lined inside but the new version also has a big American Girl tag. Reason for the grade: I really like this set but I honestly waited for it to go on sale before purchasing (or I had a coupon or rewards or something). There isn't a whole lot for $24 when we used to get a hat, purse, coin, necklace, and hankie. The quality of the bracelet compared to Kit's original necklace and the lack of story integration is my biggest dislike of the set. I don't honestly consider these her "meet" accessories in my collection as the first set is so much better, but they are nice pieces and go well with this new dress.

Three-toed sloth $20 ID #DGT35]
Lea adores sloths—shaggy, slow-moving animals that live in trees in the rainforest. This cute little 7.5" (19 cm) plush sloth has a sweet embroidered face and touch-closure front and back paws, so it can hang onto things just like a real sloth.
American Girl will donate $1 to World Wildlife Fund up to $100,000 for every Three-Toed Sloth plush sold through December 31, 2016. Grade: A+ Well made and the cutest animal AG has made yet! (in my opinion of course!) When Lea's animals were release, I knew exactly which one I wanted! There isn't much to say about him because his adorable face says it all! His feet have velcro to attach together so he can hold onto stick like objects. He doesn't fit very well around Lea's arm (see picture below), but I don't mind. And one last one! And I'm not sure if I am allowed to do this in a review thread, but if you want to see more amazing pictures of this sloth, check out agplaythings.proboards.com/thread/123388/photos-lea-sloth-favorite and agplaythings.proboards.com/thread/123591/leas-birthday-photos. Definitely worth a look if you are on the fence!

Melody's Table & Chairs Item #DKH89 $85
This two-tone metal table is Melody’s favorite place to eat, do homework, or play games. The two chairs each have a metal frame and a playful floral print on the seat. When Melody takes the table outside for the summer Block Party, she can clip on the special cloth banner encouraging people to help fix up the local park.
The table top is lime green and wood with a darker green plastic edge. The legs are metal. This table reminds me of the classic card table. The chairs have metal legs and backs with a plastic seat and floral print attached cushion (each with an attached long tag).
The banner that comes with the table set is very cute. It has two flower bundles hiding the clips to clip the banner to the table. My banner came wrinkly, but it stretches out nicely over the length of the table.
Grade: A
I really love this set! It fits the block party set quite nicely (pictures below) and I can definitely see Melody doing her homework at this table. One neat feature that would have been cool to see was actual folding chairs and table. But considering I have pinched my fingers on adult sized folding furniture, I believe AG was avoiding little fingers being pinched too.

This set was released in 2016.
Melody's Microphone Set Item #DKH91 $38
This 1960s-style microphone amplifies girls’ voices, and has buttons to press that add an echo or fun studio sound effects: applause, cheering, and laughter. It comes with a tambourine that dolls can really hold, plus tiny sheet music with one of Melody’s favorite songs. Requires 3 AAA batteries.
Since Melody hasn't arrived, Rebecca decided to time travel and check out what current celebrities are using to get to stardom. The microphone is slightly below chin level and the head swivels. There are four buttons: three are sound effects and one adds an echo like sound to anything that is said into the microphone.
The sheet music is just that, sheet music. I already wrinkled mine trying to get it out of the plastic. You could definitely create more doll sized sheet music by shrinking pictures from the internet. The dimensions are 2.9 x 3.9 inches.
My absolute favorite part and why I had to buy this set was for the tambourine. It is hard plastic with a rubber loop so that dolls can hold it and the jingles are actually metal and sound like a real tambourine!
Grade: B-
When Melody's collection was first released, I felt like this set was redundant to Melody's recording studio which also includes a microphone. However, this is a much cheaper and smaller alternative to the studio. I can definitely see girls having fun playing with the microphone and the sound effects, which for me does not add any value to my displays. I only bought this set for the tambourine which on it's own would have been an A. I was also sad to see the sheet music so easily wrinkled, even if though that is accurate to how real sheet music ends up after use.

Melody's Play Outfit Item #DKH87 $28
When summer comes, Melody can’t wait to hit the playground! This cool, colorful outfit includes: A sleeveless diagonal-striped A-line top with a tasseled zigzag hem, pale-blue shorts with a high waist and a hint of flare, casual canvas shoes with elastic T-straps, and two pale-blue hairbows.
This is such a cute outfit and I can't wait to see it on Melody when she arrives. The top is light cotton, but not see through, and velcros up the back. The tassels are a fun addition. The shorts have elastic in the back (versus all the way around) and they are longer than Melody's pajama bottoms.
The shoes have no heel and have elastic t-straps.
And finally, the blue hairbows are attached to an elastic scrunchie just like the bows in Melody's pajamas set (although much smaller than the pink ones).
Grade: B+
I think the tassels are fun, but I am not a big fan of them. Also I think this outfit would have felt more complete with a pair of socks.

This item was released in 2016 and retired in 2018.Melody's Block Party Set Item #DKH88 $68 Melody loves when her neighborhood comes together for their annual picnic, and this set is full of community fun! It includes: A tiny bingo cage that really works when you turn the handle, Bingo balls, cards, and dots, two pretend hot dogs with mustard, pretend mini apple and cherry pies, a pretend bottle of Vernor’s Ginger Ale (made in Melody’s hometown of Detroit), a make-believe Boston Cooler drink — a float of Vernor's and vanilla ice cream, and paper napkins. This is a great set and has lots of pieces...82 in total. My favorite piece is definitely the bingo cage. It feels like a mix of plastic and metal, but the cage itself is metal. It works just like a bingo cage, meaning you turn the handle a few times and the balls may or may not roll out. This definitely works better on a table than on carpet. The bingo game itself is not a traditional bingo game in that the numbers are 1-5 on each column versus the numbers 1-75. This allows for a fully functional bingo game in doll scale. The cards are modified to fit this game and up to 4 people can play. The cards are also a nicer card stock material instead of just paper. There are 25 balls and 40 "dots," both of which are plastic The food, glorious food. All hard plastic of course, except for my favorite part: the pies! The pies themselves are hard plastic, but they are in "tart" type tins meaning that there is a bottom piece and a rim piece. Both feel like metal, but the bottom piece is definitely metal. They look like canning lids that have been turned upside down to bake a pie! This would be a great addition to any kitchen set. The drinks are Vernor ginger ale and a Vernor float. You can actually still buy Vernor if you want to join Melody. Check out the history on this website. The last components of this set are hardly worth mentioning. The napkins from this set feel like they are made from cheap tissues. They almost seem like an after thought or as a way of not having to design plates. I much prefer the napkins I make out of real paper napkins for my dolls than these. Grade: A I love this set! Lots of pieces and play-ability (and can include up to 4 dolls). The food is good quality and the bingo cards are stiffer paper. The cage actually works. Lots of positive thoughts here! Definitely would have been an A+ with better napkins.

Melody's Accessories were released in August 2016 and revised in 2019.
Original Version: Melody's Accessories Item #DKH82 $24 Melody is ready to step out into the city! Her accessories set includes: A blue felt hat with ribbon trim, a blue patent purse with a bow on the front, cool cat-eye sunglasses, and a civil rights campaign button.
Revised Version: Melody's Accessories SKU#: GDV79 $36 Melody is ready to step out into the city! Her accessories set includes: A blue felt hat with ribbon trim that she feels fancy wearing, A blue patent purse with a bow on the front to carry her things, Cool cat-eye sunglasses that were popular in the 1960s, A civil rights campaign button that Melody wears proudly, A record and record sleeve featuring The Three Ravens, Melody’s brother’s group!
Original Version:
These are a great addition to Melody's meet dress. I'm not a big fan of Melody's meet dress without her accessories! The had is made of sturdy molded felt with a satiny ribbon and bow. I think that if you accidently sat on it that it would crush and be very hard to mold back. There isn't a lot of give to it.
The sunglasses are so sassy! Cool cat-eye indeed:
The purse is my favorite piece of this set. It has a velcro closure and is big enough to hold a hankie if Melody had one.
I read in several store reports that little girls were already losing Melody's campaign pin and it is easy to see why. It is a very small piece of plastic with a plastic hook to hook onto clothing. On Melody's meet dress, the only real place I see where to put it is on her bow (I will add a picture once my Melody arrives). Some of the catalog pictures are definitely bending the truth about where this pin can be placed. After I took pictures, I placed the pin in her purse so I wouldn't lose it.
Grade: A- It definitely completes Melody's meet outfit, but the minus comes from the little pin. It needs a better design so that Melody can actually wear it.

Melody's Bedroom Accessories Item #DKH86 $45
Melody keeps some of her favorite treasures in her bedroom: An adorable stuffed elephant to cuddle, a mini version of the book The Secret Garden, a 1960s-style radio that really works; it features tuning knobs and an antenna, a flyer and sticker from the Freedom March, and a music poster. Requires 3 AAA batteries
This is an adorable, albeit expensive set. The true star of the set is definitely the bright green radio. I don't have batteries for it yet, but it has all of the parts needed for it to be a real radio, including the fragile black antenna attached to the back, a volume knob, and a frequency turning knob.
The stuffed elephant is the cutest part of this set in my opinion. It is plush with a giant orange yellow ribbon that matches Melody's bedspread. It of course comes with the long tag.
If you are a sucker for tiny books like I am, The Secret Garden is a great addition to any doll sized library. The print inside is really small but does have black and white pictures at the beginning of each chapter.
And last but not least are the paper products of this set. I feel like they cheapen the set a little, but I wouldn't have Melody's bedroom set up without posters like these. Maybe they should have added one more, maybe of a famous singer at the time? All all relevant to Melody's story though.
Grade: A- This was a tough one. The price is a little high for the set in my personal opinion and I would have waited for this set to go on sale if it hadn't been bundled right at the beginning of Melody's release. Between the book and the elephant though, it was worth it. I might bump that up to an A if I can find batteries and see if the radio actually works.

Melody's Bed and Bedding Item #DKH85 $95
Sweet dreams, Melody! Her wooden bed has a sliding cabinet in the headboard for bedtime accessories. Melody can snuggle into the soft mattress and pillow, then pull up the reversible orange-and-yellow knit coverlet as she drifts off to sleep.
Melody's bed arrives in 2 pieces: the head board and the bed part. DH and I decided that they are in fact wooden as AG states, but that the paint color choices make it seem "cartoony." The bed part and headboard can each stand on their own separately, which could be an added design feature if you don't like having them together. Attaching the bed is really easy with the two screws and allen wrench provided.
To top the bed there is a plush mattress and firm pillow, each with their own long tag (not pictured). The bedspread is really large which is great for when a doll is actually sleeping since it will still cover the mattress. It is mostly reversible, but the tag will show if you have the orange side up.
The head board is wonderful! The cabinets really do slide allowing for a variety of set ups. Her bedtime accessories fit perfectly in the cubbies. There is really a lot of potential for really personalizing this set up for your doll.
Grade: A+ I can definitely see this in my mom's bedroom when she was a child in the 60s and the versatility of the piece make it a great addition to any collection. And if you are a brave enough, this piece could be easily modernized with a coat of spray paint.

This item was released in 2016 and retired in 2019. (A different version of nightwear, Melody's Plaid Pajamas, was released in 2022.)
Melody's Pajamas Item #DKH83 $24
When the city sleeps, Melody snuggles up in these blue pajamas with a shooting-star print. The short-sleeved top has pink dome buttons and a Peter Pan collar. It comes with matching shorts and blue slippers with fuzzy pom-poms on the toes. Two pink hairbows complete the set.
These pajamas are very cute and could potentially be used for modern girls as well. The top has 4 real buttons and two working pockets. The pockets seem to be reinforced so the fabric around them is very stiff. The buttons are probably better for little but gentle hands. There is no velcro so the buttons are the only way to get the top onto a doll.
The bottoms are just a pair of cotton shorts with elastic all the way around the waist. There isn't anything special about them.
The set also includes a pair of shoes with little white pom poms and two hair elastics with giant attached pink bows. The bows are larger than the bows that come with Melody's play outfit (the blue bows).
Overall, I would give this outfit a A-. The stiff pockets really threw me off, but I love the real buttons on the top!
I will be updating this review with pictures as soon as my Melody doll arrives. Her stuff got here before she did!
