We got these on sale for $4 as well!
The price cannot be beat for a pair of quality doll shoes from AG. These sneakers are well made miniature reproductions of real running shoes. They are fabulous in every way. My only complaint is that the white laces seem a bit too long, but that can be easily remedied. Jess has been wearing the sneaks ever since they arrived.
A+++ especially in light of the sale price

I figured I'd toss in a couple of my own pictures with the bunkbeds in them.... I got these in 1996 I think, and they have held up great being pulled apart and packed away through several cross country moves. I'm really not crazy about the color scheme anymore, but I'm working on something different... The dolls don't mind though. We usually use the reverse side of the sleeping bag/comforter. The bottom bunk is usually filled with mini dolls and other amusements.

I too LOVE Miss Marisol! Ours is Marisol Clara...sometimes called just Marisol, other times just Clara. Clara suits her because she looks like Josefina's older sister Clara, and also because she looks like the Clara character in Isabel Allende's "The House of Spirits." I really can't say enough good things about Marisol...I love her coloring, love her long silky hair, and her cute expression. This dolly looks good in clothes from any era. Marisol's meet outfit gets a big "eh". It works best when used as mix n' match peices. Here are a few pictures of our beauty: Big beautiful brown eyes: Studying in the the current GoT meet outfit: With Jess: So beautiful... Back of her hair (while she searches for something to wear): Off to a party: With Kaya: With the Isabel Allende books that inspired her moniker: Hugging her friends: We love Marisol Clara!!! A+++++++infinity pluses!

Flower Garden Dress GTSG $26 I really like this dress as its muted colors look great on all the dolls. The material is a nice cotton linen, which feels nice, and the dress is embroidered as well. The set comes with lots of little accessories and is very cute! A great little srping dress! A+! Corsage: The headband fits snugly, so it won't fall off during play, and is embellished with an enamel charm: The embroidery is a nice touch that really makes the outfit: The shoes are awesome and have really thick soles: And a sparkly flower on top! The set also includes a little poetry book, comprised of poems that girls sent in to the AG magazine.

I love my GT#20, Robyn Elaine, whom I've had since 1995. With Molly, both my gray eyed girls: Robyn also enjoys primping:

I bought this dress for Felicity, and the pastel looks really cute on her. Not sure how historically accurate the lacey apron part of the dress is though. The dress has a textured feel to it, I think it is some kind of polyester blend, but you can see little nubbins in the weave that add character to the ensemble. The apron part is not removable, but the neck kercheif part is- it has a hook closure in the front under the flower. The mob cap is the same lacey fabric as the apron. I like this dress because it's so different from the rest of Felicity's collection.

Unfortunately I do not have detailed pictures of this item, but I do own this and I can get us started reviewing and commenting on it. The set has a lot of pieces. It includes: purple velour leotard tights (which I never use with our outfit, but I believe the green ones go with this) tie around skirt Velour curl-toe fairy slippers ribboned and leaved headband flower hair snap-ins fairy wings (that slide in a special pocket on the back of the unitard) a black trick-or-treat bag Here it is on Kaya, which is the only pic I have uploaded of it so far: Here is an additional picture so that you can see all the cute little pieces that Kaya is not wearing: I love this outfit and give it an A+, but you should know that I love fairies and the color scheme so I was a goner for this set anyway. The quality is really nice on this set, as the leotard is a very plush material, and the slippers are so cute and made from the same plush material as well. My dolls wear this around Halloween but also year round. It looks good with all the doll's coloring and is a favorite at our house!

The Angelina Ballerina Mouse Doll is adorable! Her fur is a soft velour and her arms and legs swivel 360 degrees. Her tail is posable, and her dancing slippers and hair bow are sewn on to prevent the kiddies from losing them. When I was a child, I had an Angelina Mouse, but it was no where near the quality of this one. The cheaper Angelina mice available at Target are crap compared to the AG ones...I wish these were still available so that I could get Alice too! Here is Angelina sitting with some of her accessories: I believe originally Angelina came with a hardback "Angelina Ballerina" book that is still available at book stores, but the set was $24.94 from AG. We bought the Starter Set from American Girl, which came in a nice storage box filled with several books, outfits, and the Angelina Mouse doll. I give Angelina an A+! I love this little mouse and I wish her collection was still available.

I just sent my Nicki back.
The doll they sent me had a very thin wig...so much so that the wig cap was visible when Nicki was just sitting there with her hair down.
Also, her freckles had dark brown, almost black paint splotches in the middle of the bigger freckles. I 've never heard of this, but it was immediately noticable and terribly annoying when I got the doll out of the box.
Anna's doll pictured above looks 100 times better than what AG sent me. That's why I sent it back. I'm posting this here so people might be forewarned...Nicki seems to be a hit or miss in getting a good doll. When I ordered her, I was kind of expecting a thin wig because of other reviews. But the faulty freckles and my dislike of her meet outfit in person were too much. Back to AG she went.
ETA: Return shipping was free. I called AG and because I was displeased with the quality of the item, they sent out a return label that arrived in 2 days, despite the woman-on-the-phone's claim that it could take up to 10 days to arrive.

I was not impressed with Bitty Lambie. The catalog picture looked really cute, but when our creature arrived it's ear was sewn on crooked and it had, well, an overstuffed head. Look at it: The thing came with a pink bow around it's neck, with a little square cardboard book entitled "Bitty Lambie's Family Album." The book and lamb were nestled inside a little vinyl case shaped like a purse that snaps shut and has the Bitty Baby logo on it. I am not pleased with this lamb, but my daughter enjoys it. A few weeks ago we were playing with this and the arms came off. They were sewn on, and still need to be re-sewn. I like Bitty Lambie in the catalog, but the one we got shipped was bootlegged. I'm plotting to modify it into a llama somehow, since the arms are already off and everything. I'll let the next poster give this a grade, but the individual one I got gets a C. It's sliding by with that because the plush fur is soft and cute, and the little purse case was an extra surprise I was not expecting.

Bitty Bear is a cutie, and comes with Bitty Baby. Here's a poor quality image of our Bitty Bear. It seems like each Bear looks a tad different, like some are stuffed more than others or have a different facial expression or something. Ours was purchased new in 2003 and has held up pretty well to the force that is my daughter. Bitty Bear is a cutie and lots of fun to pose and dress up in the little accessories that come with many Bitty outfit sets. Bitty Bear's arms and legs are sewn on and will rotate 360 degrees if you want them to. Bitty Bear came with a peach ribbon around his neck when we got him, but currently I think the ribbon is lavender. I give Bitty Bear an A+. Because he's a cutie and Bitty's best friend.

This is a white AG cat that was available from AG around the turn of the century. She originally came with two little clear vinyl backpacks filled with nail polish and manicure accessories and was called the "Hand Care Kitty" or something similar. I think she was originally about $25 new from AG. I got mine from an estate sale for $9 because I was excited with the rareness of the thing, though she didn't have her original backpacks or accessories. Here she is next to Angelina for a size comparison: She's really floppy and fun to play with: She has an "American Girl made in China RN 92138" white tag on the back of her left leg.

I just recently found this book at a doll and toy show, and we love it! My 3 1/2 year old loves to do all the activities on each page, and the illustrations, as well as the overall quality of the book, are amazing. The book is no longer in print, and was originally $14.95. However, I willingly shelled out $20 for a mint copy, mostly because I always wanted this book when I was little and my parents never bought it for me. It is an adorable addition to the ONB or Bitty collection, and is a very durable book. It is definitely made with toddlers in mind.
Robin, the book itself does not have an age recommendation on it, but I think a one year old would be too young for it. The child should be at a point where they would not chew on the pages (they are a sturdy thin cardboard, but still chewable) and some of the tabs take a bit of manual dexterity to move. I would think the 2 year old would be more likely to play well with the book, but I would recommend an adult assist them with it. My three year old started to get rough with some of the tabs, and adult instruction is needed on some of them; the powder page and the zipper page were a bit difficult because they are different from any other books we have.
I give this an A+! I would love to see this book re-issued to go along with Bitty.

This is one of the cuter sets, IMO. We have the BB set and the outfit for girls. We really like the space dyed striped socks as well.

Bennett, Molly's dog, is associated with the book, Happy Birthday, Molly! The Pleasant Company version was introduced in 1987, with Mattel releasing a revised version in 2000. Starting in 2006, when Molly's "best friend" Emily was released, Bennett was also available as a bundled pair with Yank, Emily's dog. Bennett was retired in 2013 when Molly was archived. Bennett returned in June 2022 with Molly's rerelease. This thread includes all versions of Bennett; when adding new reviews, please specify which version you are reviewing.Pleasant Company description: Molly’s little dog, Bennett, was a special surprise on her birthday. Slip his red leash over Molly’s hand or let him sit on her lap and you’ll see that they’re made for each other. Bennett is a soft, furry pup with big brown eyes. He’s sure to win a place in your heart just like he did in Molly’s.
Mattel description: Bennet the dog is Molly's birthday surprise. Slip his red leash over Molly's hand.
Bundled description: Molly and Emily get a birthday surprise - puppies! Molly decides to name hers "Bennett," and Emily calls hers "Yank."
2022 rerelease description: Molly gets her dog as a birthday gift and names him Bennett after her new English friend, Emily Bennett. He’s plush with brown-and-white fur and wears a red ribbon collar. The original Bennett, was, well, sub-par. This pooch is not to my liking. I received him around 1993-1994 as a gift. I'm not certain what he is made out of, but the fur covering feels like real rabbit fur and you can easily see the seams from where the dog form was wrapped with the fur covering. The legs and tail are not posable. The ears can be moved from pointing forwards to pointing back. He came with a red collar and a red leash. He can be displayed easily enough, but it is difficult to pose this pooch naturally in Molly's lap. On a positive note, his face is cute. Rather than assign Bennett a grade, I'll just give him a general "Pass" since he has been redone anyway, and the original does look like the character dog in the book. As a retired piece, I do not recommend shelling out much over the original price for this item. (original code and price uncertain)

I really like this outfit because the fabric of the dress is thicker than the rest of Felicity's dresses. I give it an A+!

I just recently got this dress off eBay, minus the apron and cap, and I love it! The colors are muted and look gorgeous on Felicity! I like how the dress is cut, the length is long and the neck is higher than the Rose Garden Gown. It also has the pocket slits unlike some of the newer dresses.

My daughter LOVES Baby Polly! There are other non-AG sized babies, but Polly has the AG quality that will stand up to years of play. She is constructed much like a mini Bitty Baby. My daughter did manage to scuff her a bit, but I simply used a Magic Eraser on Polly and she was good as new. In fact, these pictures were taken after her Magical freshening. Here she is: Baby Polly in her cradle: Naked, so that you can see her neck ties and body tag: Size comparison to Bitty: And reaching out for a hug:

This was the first accessory set I bought for Felicity. It just seems so essential to her collection. It is very cute and very well made, although my daughter managed to pull out and lose one of the pig's tails. Despite that, the set is wonderful and gets lots of play at our house. A+!

I got my Kaya as a gift the first Xmas she came out. Her hair is very long, past her knees when unbraided. The ends of mine are a bit dry and snarl if I leave her hair down for a while. It's nothing that can't be brushed out, but if you take her hair out of the original braids, like Molly and Kirsten, you'll never be able to get them to look mint again. I've put her hair in one braid and it looks nice like that, and I've also done little braids all over her head. I guess like five braids on each side. I left it like this for awhile just little braids down, then I braided the little braids. Kaya's hair is lots of fun to style, but be prepared to brush out some snarls.
