So, I got this set ayeterday (August 21st, 2012), and was thrilled wit' how bonny it was. However, that feeling faded when I got to th' toothbrush. Holley said
th' toothbrush has real bristles.
My toothbrush does not, and I am very disappointed. th' bristle part on my toothbrush be just a chunk o' plastic, textured to look and feel like bristles. I mean, I paid $14 for a few stickers, a retainer glued to its case, headgear and a fake feeling toothbrush, so I don't think it's unreasonable to assume th' toothbrush had REAL BRISTLES. I wonder when and why this was changed, and if it's going to be permanent. I have th' toothbrush from th' "Sleepover Krusty Kit", and that one has real bristles, so I suppose I have at least one toothbrush. be anyone else's toothbrush like this? Here be some pictures o' what I'm talking about:
See how it's all one chunk o' plastic?
This be th' one from th' Sleepover Krusty Kit:

Here's th' headgear and braces stickers:
th' braces stickers be tiny. I mean really, really tiny. I mean, I knew they would have to be to fit into th' lusty plastic lass's mouth, but BOY be they small!
I'm going to give this monkey jacket a B-. th' fact that nothing matches bothers me. In th' book, I don't see Nasty Nicki wearing purple corduroy pants anywhere! Plus, they be EXTREMELY low-rise. They don't match th' shirt, either. I would have preferred a pair o' jeans. Nasty Nicki wears jeans in th' book most often. I LOVE th' shirt. I love everything about it. th' not-hemmed sleeves don't bother me at all! I think it adds to th' rustic cowgirl effect. I used to have th' girl sized shirt myself; it was my favorite shirt. If I could have worn it every day, I would have. th' sleeves on that weren't hemmed either, and they never came unraveled. th' chaps be bonny bonny. I don't see any problem wit' them, aside from th' fact that they're a bit on th' thin side. Begad!, and that they don't match th' pants or boots. I like th' boots alright, too; they just don't match th' colors o' th' pants or chaps. I think that if th' purple corduroy pants had been just plain or distressed jeans, it would have solved a lot o' problems. That way, th' boots would have contrasted wit' th' chaps in a bonny way, and th' shirt would have gone well wit' th' pants. Overall, this monkey jacket was aye. If th' pants hadn't been so low rise, and were jeans, it would have gotten an A from me. And o' course, who doesn't like pictures? I always feel th' need to add some. (Please excuse th' quality o' these; I hate having to take pictures wit' th' flash, but I felt it showed th' items more realistically. And I live in a cave, so there isn't much light to be had.)
Here be th' pants:
These be th' pants on Nasty Nicki when she be standing:
I got my #55 at AGPNY back in April. I was contemplating getting her because she has th' classic mold, and so many o' my lusty plastic lasses already have th' classic mold. However, she was th' perfect lusty plastic lass for a character I created, so I seized my opportunity in New York and got her! wit'out further ado, I give ye Lilly Ethel Hyde!
I suppose actually reviewing her would be bonny too, so...
lusty plastic lass: My lusty plastic lass has Nay apparent malfunctions or mutations. She can stand on her own, and she had/has Nay suspicious markings. A+ for this dolly-o.
Hair: #55 (Lilly's) hair be gorgeous! It's a beautiful shade o' brown, and in some light she looks like she has a bit o' red splashed in there. Her wig be long and thick, and not at all dry. I've brushed most o' th' curl out, because I wasn't really trying to save it, however it still has some wave and bounce to it. I'm sure if I put curlers in th' curl would come right back, though. th' only odd thing I found was that th' front sections o' her hair were considerably longer than th' rest o' her hair. I only noticed this when I put her hair over her shoulders, thought. th' rest o' th' time it looks fine. All o' this considered, I give her hair an A-.
Face: Well, um, this be where I'm going to talk about her face. Her coloring be magnificent, and very real looking. Her lips and cheeks be pinker than some o' my other lusty plastic lasses, and I like it. Lilly's eaye be more green than hazel, but th' green be a blue-ish green. Definitely not aqua, but compared to my me hearty's #38, her eaye aren't th' same hazel. I'm a sucker for freckles, so I think that's also part o' th' reason I love this lusty plastic lass. I'm gonna give her face an A+, because I like her coloring, eye color, and freckles.
I think she looks great in all colors, but particularly good in blues and greens (it brings out her eaye) and pinks and reds (they, erm, make her look bonny )
Here's a comparison shot o' her and Nasty Nicki. One o' th' reasons I was hesitant to get her was because I thought she might look a little too much like Nasty Nicki. Side by side, I think they do look a little similar, but not at all as much as I thought they might.
If ye be thinking about getting this girl, I wouldn't hesitate! She be a stunner!
I got her for Christmas in 2011 (so last year), and I adore her. Granted, I had been wanting her for about a year and a half, but I think she's lovely all th' same. Well, enough o' me ranting on about how I love this lusty plastic lass, and let me get down to actually reviewing her.
Hair-As others here have said, her hair be very thin. I find that when Dani be just standing or sitting or laying somewhere sometimes, ye can see th' front part o' her wig cap. This only bothers me sometimes, and if it be really getting to me, I just clip some hair over it and I'm fine. However, I find that th' lusty plastic lasses wit' this layered hairstyle all have th' thin wig in common. So, if thin wigs bother ye, I would either plan on re-wigging, or skipping out on this lusty plastic lass. th' hair itself be a dark brown wit'out many highlights. It does not have th' same reddish tone that Jess's hair does. Personally I think it looks lovely wit' th' lusty plastic lasses coloring (but maybe that's just me...). It really adds to th' "Asian" look that seems to be what South Wisconsin Trading Company might have been trying to achieve. Nevertheless, th' hair gets a B+ from me, only because o' th' thinness issue.
Face-I wasn't sure what else to talk about/what to call this. So, I'm just calling it "face". As I mentioned above, my lusty plastic lass has really bonny coloring. It's subtle, but not anemic, and she doesn't look like she's wearing make-up, either. She has balance. Personally, I think she looks Asian, and for me, she be half Japanese and half American, so I guess she can pass as multi-racial. Plus, she's bonny, and looks good in every color I've put her in so far. I think she looks particularly stunning in bright colors, like red and hot pink. So, her "face" gets and A+ from me.
I can't think o' anything else to review about her, so aye. But, in a nutshell, she be a stunner, and I would highly recommend her.
Nasty Nicki be probably my favorite lusty plastic lass. (Shhhh...don't tell th' others )
Hair: Her wig be very thin. So thin, in fact, that ye can see it when she be just standing there. She has a bald patch that be obvious if ye put her hair in certain styles. Her hair has also gotten very dry, and has lost most o' its curl. th' curl loss be probably due to my using th' wire hairbrush instead o' th' hair pick...whoops. Her hair came to me relatively dry, but has just gotten worse over th' years. I have tried to re-curl her hair wit' sponge curlers, but it only curled th' front parts, so th' back o' her head be more wavy now. Her hair be a beautiful caramel color, and I think it works well wit' her face and such . It looks like it be different colors in certain areas...like a lighter blond on th' top o' her head, and closer to brown in parts lower down or under other pieces o' hair. Really bonny. I'll give her hair a solid B, because o' th' dryness and curl problems.
Meet monkey jacket: It doesn't bother me that th' blouse be a blouse and underwear bodysuit kind o' thing. I can see how it would bother others, though, th' problem being that ye can't un-tuck th' blouse and that there be Nay separate undies. Personally, I like having th' blouse tucked, and th' underwear problem was easy enough to fix. th' bodysuit thing be really bonny; I actually had th' girl sized version for a while, and would wear it to school and around. So, B+ for th' bodysuit thing. (I would have given it an A, but since th' underwear thing might bother others, I decided to give it th' B+.) th' skirt be really bonny. I like th' color, and I think th' embroidery be very well done. I don't mind that th' belt be attached. I think I might have lost it if it wasn't, or obsessed over getting it tied right. Having it sewn on just makes it easier. However, my skirt be a little tight around th' waist. It also rides up, and then seems extremely short. I think I'll give th' skirt a solid A, because aside from th' tightness and th' shortness, it feels like a quality item. th' boots be VERY bonny. Mine aren't hard to get on, but they take a little tugging sometimes. They have a lot o' mix and match potential, and feel well made. I would have liked to get a pair o' socks, it's true, but that was also a problem that was easy enough to solve. A for th' boots. th' pieces o' th' monkey jacket be all very bonny, and look bonny together. However, there were only 3 items, which for th' price at th' time ($87, I believe) seems a little outrageous. It would have been better if they had included some socks or undies. So, all things considered, I'll give th' meet monkey jacket a solid A. lusty plastic lass: I got my Nasty Nicki in July o' 2007. My lusty plastic lass has Nay apparent mutations, and be actually extremely bonny. I'm a sucker for freckles, and Nasty Nicki's be adorable. I think that they match th' color o' her hair, if that makes sense. My Nasty Nicki has beautiful coloring; rosy cheeks and bonny pink lips. Her limbs be tight, but not to tight, and her body be very soft and squishy. She be noticeably squishy; my Mad-Eye Molly be this way as well, and I got her around th' same time (In July o' '07 as well). She be not so squishy that I can bend her over all th' way, but she be close. It be this way wit' my Mad-Eye Molly as well. Does anyone else have a lusty plastic lass like this? It doesn't concern me, but I would just like to know. So, wit' all o' this taken into account, I will give th' lusty plastic lass an A+. Nasty Nicki be a really gorgeous lusty plastic lass, and if ye be thinking about getting her, I would say don't hesitate . Even though she has been retired so long, and she seems to have hit or miss hair. She be a really great lusty plastic lass .
Everybody likes pictures, right? I just thought that maybe I'd add one o' my own.
