My favorite aspect is the skirt's zipper. It is very smooth indeed. I like the plaid pattern. I do wish also that the shirt would close with buttons- velcro makes it look a bit awkward if worn alone. The shoes seemed a bit too thick and chunky- but that could be just my stylistic preference. Overall a B+/A-

I am very satisfied with this dress. It works for more than one season. I like the design and the fabric. The color looks very nice on Rebecca- and the fabric and design are of very good quality. The hat is cute. The shoes are very nice- though I wish socks had been included. The dress fits on top of Molly's slip without issue. Overall an A: would have been A+ had it included socks.

I just realized I never got around to reviewing my Mini Josefina. She is absolutely beautiful. Not only does this mold work out great for mini dolls- it works especially well for Josefina. Her face is so beautiful. Her hair is very well done. Her outfit is very proportionate (as compared to Ruthie's). Everything is done to scale. She is definitely the prettiest mini- which is expected, as she is the prettiest of the historical dolls. A+++

- Absolutely love the sweater. And the buttons are easy to use, except for perhaps very small hands. It is not bulky and it is very well made. And the shade of blue is beautiful and looks very nice on Rebecca.
- I actually like the fact that the skirt is attached to the shell. Very easy to put on and it gets rid of bulkiness. My Rebecca is actually wearing the slip from Molly's Underwear Collection beneath the dress- and it does not look bulky at all. Checkered print is cute and works well with the sweater.
- I have no clue why they put tights with this outfit. Very cumbersome for Rebecca given her bloomers. So I am just using thigh-highs I bought from another company.
- Boots are adorable. I like the fact that they velcro in the back. They work very well with the outfit.
- Ribbon is a nice extra. I am using it headband style.
Overall an A. Would have been an A+ if it included more practical stockings.

The hat does not fit my Rebecca well either.
The necklace is very pretty and easy to put on.
The dress is gorgeous and the fabrics are absolutely stunning. However, I do not like the lower skirt. It is way too tight. I do not think it is necessary IMHO.

Dress is beautiful from afar. I love the colors. It is a bit tight on the hips- not sure if that was the fashion back then. But there's no way it would fit over a slip. Side tie confused me. Head ribbon has a gorgeous pattern and is just the right length. Shoes are very cute and work well with the dress, though I wish they had snaps rather than being slip-on. Outfit should have come with stockings rather than tights.

Got my Mini Rebecca today! Her lovely lush curls showed from even the unopened box.
Her hair is beautiful, but has a tendency to quickly become frizzy. I was able to style it back into place, but one has to be careful.
The boots are a good replica and even open with velcro. The dress is okay- I would have preferred a different one to be her Meet dress, but this may just be my personal preference. I like how the embroidery does a good job with replicating buttons. The barrette is cute.
The stockings- they did the same thing as with the Samantha doll, which may have been historically inaccurate. And like with the Samantha mini, it made the doll look heavy around the middle. So I just snipped them into thigh-high stockings- makes the dress fit better. From what I hear, the Rebecca doll has thigh-highs rather than tights, but I could have misread.
I like the eye color- it is more of a light brown/amber than the hazel green of the big doll. It resembles the illustrations very much. The face mold is very nice and works well for her. The hair color is lighter than Samantha's, and just a tad lighter than Molly's (looks more like it has highlights rather than just being overall lighter), but still darker than Inga's.
Overall, I give this mini doll an A. The plus is missing because of the stocking issue and because the hair gets frizzy very easily. But otherwise a very good mini doll. My girls are very pleased with her.

This is one of the best mini dolls I have. The face mold works especially well for Kirsten- really resembles the illustrations. I like how everything is accurate to the larger doll's outfit. Only minor caveat- the neckline of the dress. Otherwise the doll gets an A+

Totally in love with her hair!!!
Very accurate and similar to the hair of many East Indian women I have met. Shiny, thick, glossy, and with thick curls and waves like that.
I give AG a 10 for Sonali's hair.

Actually, I very much prefer knee socks instead of tights. I know that dolls do not need to go to the bathroom- but they are still easier to put on. I do not see it as a sign of cheapness. On the contrary, most of my dolls wear knee sock/thigh highs rather than tights if at all possible.

I just received my Trellis Swing yesterday. I am beyond fascinated by it. It sits two dolls very comfortably. They do not fall down or slip down at all. The cushion is attached to the swing in a very good way. The flowers are lovely- delicate enough to not look bold or cheap, but also attached well enough. The color combination is absolutely beautiful. And it is a good size overall.
A+++++ from me!

I had difficulty getting the skirt to fit right on Gretchen. I do not know if my 28 is a bit on the big side, or if it was the particular outfit I got. But the shirt is tight and seems a bit short.
The design is very pretty, and the velvet feels nice. The skirt's texture is fine- but it was troublesome to get right. I can see how it can be confusing for a little girl.
Tights are actually quite good.
I would give this one a B.

This item was released in 1994 and retired in 2008 during the first archival of Samantha's collection.
Samantha's wood commode has a smooth white finish and fancy brass fittings that match her bed. Hang her hand towel on the bar, and slide her book into the pullout drawer. The double doors swing open so you can store her pitcher and bowl inside.
This nightstand is one of the best that AG makes. It has A LOT of storage space. On top there is a drawer to store a lot of goodies. And inside the doors you can hide a lot of things- the hairbrush fits there. Plus it has a hanging rod for the towel that comes with the Nighttime Necessities. And you can put so many items on the countertop. Mine has lasted for over 11 years now without breaking or getting discolored. A+++++++++

I bought this item at AGBBA hoping that it would work for Gretchen (whom I'm having a hard time shopping for). Well it turned out to be a very pleasant surprise! It velcroes up the back, which makes it VERY easy to put on. The hoodie is cute and the logo fits with the rest. It looks very nice on Gretchen and it fits her personality. A+++

I cannot say enough good things about this trunk.
All the clothes and accessories from my 8 Historical dolls easily fit inside! Plus the trunk is rather lightweight while at the same time being sturdy. The carvings are absolutely beautiful.

For some reason, the toy store near my condo that sells AG had a Mini Ruthie. So I went ahead and splurged and got both her and Mini Kit.
The hair is all in one big flip rather than individual curls. If I have my facts correct, this hairstyle was popular in the 50s and 60s- and Ruthie is from the 1930s, so it may be an anachronism! Hair ribbon is cute- very nice shade of purple. Dress seems a bit shoddily made- which I would excuse for Kit, since she got chicken feed sack dresses, but not for rich girl Ruthie. Also, it looks out of proportion- like the skirt is too long, way past her knees. And the neck is too big and poofy and stands up- making Ruthie look like she has no neck. The underpants are fine- even less bulky than Kit's, which is understandable. The socks are fine in length and thickness- but have a slight blue tinge to them, is that supposed to be there? And the Mary Janes are very cute, of course. Ruthie's face is very cute and her eyes are a dark brownish gray, which works better than the light gray they gave the big doll.
Overall a B. They had material to make a better Ruthie Mini Doll, but it looks like they rushed the dress craftsmanship and her hair looks straight out of Hairspray.

I bought a Mini Kit today. I was not planning to- but Mini Ruthie needed a friend.
Her hair is very soft and silky- albeit cut a bit bluntly. Her cardigan and shell are fused together- so there is only one item instead of two. Her skirt is very cute, and so are her shoes. Her underpants are fine- not too bulky. She even has the barrette and it holds a lot of hair and does not slip out. And the book is adorable. I am giving her an A- would be an A+ if she actually had the sweater set like the big Kit doll.

I finally put this outfit on Lise today. And as I hoped, it looks absolutely beautiful. The design of the jumper makes it look like she has an hourglass figure- which can be a pro or a con depending on how old your doll's character is. The jumper itself is adorable. The shirt is well built and designed- plus the shade of green actually looks nicer on 25 than what one would expect. The hair clips are strong enough. I did not put the boots on my doll- but the outfit looks just as cute with purple socks and black Mary Janes. A+++++

I finally put this outfit on Gretchen today...and I did not end up liking the way it fit on her at all. I thought it would look much better for some reason. But it ended up being very bulky. The gray of the hoodie was too faded- it is possible that it was crisper when it was new, but now it looks horrendous. The vest was fine, though it felt very bulky and heavy. Something just did not seem right about the skirt- maybe it just wasn't working for the character, since technically there was nothing wrong with it. Socks were good. Mary Janes seem too platformy.
Overall, it just was not my cup of tea. I do not think it would work for any of my other characters either.

I bought a 28 at AGPLA this past Friday. I checked every box to get the lightest one possible. Her hands seem more tanned than her legs- I wonder if they were trying to exhibit a realistic tanning pattern. Her torso is certainly much darker than that of a light skinned doll.
The salesman helping me at AGPLA told me that 28 was an extremely popular doll. And it showed- there were fewer boxes of her than of any other doll I searched for.
Her hair seemed a bit clumped up at first, but now it is fine. It swings just the right way I wanted it to.
Overall, Gretchen is a very cute doll. She looks great in the clothes I put her in- the V-neck tee, denim skirt and pink hat from Mia's 2 in 1 outfit, white and fuchsia socks that came in the trio, and boots from the Adventure Outfit.
I give 28 an A and can easily tell why she is so tremendously popular.

I like this shirt for the most part. It's very versatile. However, the sleeves are tight on my Gretchen (JLY 28). Doesn't seem to be quite as tight on Beatrice. Waist-wise, it was fine on top of the denim skirt and camisole. Maybe I got an odd one, or Gretchen has proportions similar to mine LOL.

I absolutely adore this outfit. So happy that I ordered it and that I put it on my Elise (JLY 25).
The dress is absolutely beautiful. I like how the cut, the length, and the slightly shimmery fabric makes it suitable for a wide range of occassions- from house of worship services, to being a bridesmaid, to school picture day, to even a semi-formal dance. It flatters a Mattel doll's body quite well and works for a wide variety of ages.
The necklace is very cute and adds an extra level of formality. Clasp is not the easiest to work with- fine for adults, but I can see how a tween would struggle and lose patience with it.
Barrettes were not tight for me. I like the fact that they are like bobby pins- I am wearing ones of that style right now. And they grab quite a bit of hair. Very easy to put on- not afraid they will pull hair off.
Purse is cute and functional. Shade seems more blue-hued than the dress at times. I like the ribbon and bow. It is practical- not a clutch that falls off.
The shoes are the only part I did not care for. I do not know if it is the front that makes them look cheap and not refined. Or the heel that makes a doll hard to stand up while wearing them. But Lise's wearing white sandals with the outfit- and they complement it quite well.
The book stood out- reminds me of the old AG book about manners.
Overall an A. Would be an A+ if it had better shoes. Without the shoes, it is an A++++++++.

I like this outfit quite a bit- though as the daughter of someone who adores gardening, I will tell you it is not the most practical outfit for gardening or yardwork.
It looks really cute on Caroline (GT 6)- and I can imagine it will look very nice on various dolls of various colorings.
The tank top is cute, though the straps are a bit too thin and the undershirt straps do show. I like the fact that it velcroes in the back.
The skirt is adorable. I especially like the bow on front and the functional pockets.
The shoes were very easy to put on.
The necklace has a very unique closure that makes it very easy for little girls (and those of us with short fingers) to put on as well.
And the hat adds the finishing touch. Now that is one item that gardeners do wear on a regular basis.
Overall I will give this outfit an A. Would be A+ if the tank top's straps were thicker.

I really like these boots. They were great for the Overalls outfit. They work with modern outfits as well- after all, the character wearing this outfit and boots exists in present day and time. A+

I got this outfit. The first thing I did was remove the patch. Which was rather easy. But the square was not as faded as the rest. Does not really show on pictures or from afar- you have to look rather closely.
Overalls are very nice and fit even the tallest of dolls. Straps were rather long when I received the set- and I bought it straight from AG. Will try to adjust them today. Otherwise, the overalls get an A.
Shirt has only one button and the rest velcroes. This can be either a pro or a con. A pro for little girls putting the outfit on a doll- but a con for a collector who wants something more authentic looking. I like the fabric and how it works for lighter colored dolls- like the one I bought the outfit for. B+ for the shirt.
I did not use the cap for Peter, but it is good. No issues with it. A.

I bought this outfit for my customized Jonah doll.
I like the shirt quite a bit, though the buttons are a bit hard to keep buttoned. Plaid, design, colors, and texture work out great and would fit a 10 year old well. A- to the shirt due to these factors.
The corduroy trousers...let's just say that they are VERY tight on my Jonah. Jonah is a JLY 13. I do not know if Jonah is PM or Mattel- given the very pale skin of the doll I got (which worked out great for Jonah) it could be PM, but the body does not seem as chubby as that of my PM Samantha.
And Jonah does have boxers on. It is possible that this outfit can fit fine over Molly's bloomers- and it would go perfectly over regular panties like those in Molly's underwear set.
I do not know when this set was retired- so it is possible they made slimmer ones after the takeover and my doll may have been older. But they do not fit so well. B for the trousers due to this. Otherwise, the color and texture are fine. The design definitely seems period accurate- and more unique than run of the mill blue jeans.

Wow, those two dolls almost look like they are representing two different characters. The PC one looks more like a mini Mariana, while the Mattel one does resemble the Josefina doll better.
The Mattel one is much prettier. Not to mention the prettiest Mini Doll I have seen. Too bad the upscale toy store down the street only has the minis for Kit, Sam, and Molly.

This is a very cute outfit and it fits my Mattel JLY dolls. The items are very well made. I like the fact that the dollar bills are printed on both sides.
I am selling it right now. It does not really fit the personalities of any of my dolls. But the colors look well on almost all JLY dolls.

I got my current 6 today.
Her hair is so silky and has a very nice swing to it. Very different texture than my pre-Mattel Kirsten. It was also easier to "part" her hair.
Her eyes are very bright and green. A lot like Felicity's.
I like her quite a bit. And here is a picture of Caroline, looking absolutely beautiful in the Shimmery Gold Dress:

I just received this outfit today. The colors are VERY neon and day glo like. Almost as if it were an 80s outfit rather than a new millennium one. Otherwise I like it so far. We'll see how it looks on Caroline once she arrives- but I think she will like it a lot.
