Marisol's Spotlight Stage & Tiara Description of the item: The tiara is silver with "rhinestones"- it's surprisingly heavy. The stage is a glorified doll stand. It's gray plastic with a silver shiny sticker on the base, purple accents around the sides, and two small footlights that plug in to the base. It runs on three C batteries and is controlled by 3 buttons. When you turn it on, the top of the stand slowly rotates and the two lights light up. The other two buttons make applause sounds- one clapping, the other with cheering. The part of the doll stand that goes around the doll's waist was snug on my Marisol. Durability: I received the stage as a gift in 2005 and until Feb. 2008, it had pretty much been sitting unassembled in it's original box. When I finally took it out, one edge of the decal was starting to come unstuck. It seems like once assembled, it can't be taken apart again. Or at least I didn't want to risk breaking it to take apart the base and the part of the stand that snaps into it. Playability: I was annoyed that I needed to use a screwdriver to open the bottom so I could put in the batteries. (Is that standard these days for any toy that takes batteries?) I could see how a child might find it fun to play with but I wasn't wildly impressed. The stage rotates very s-l-o-w-l-y and you can hear the motor. The two spotlights don't give off that much light. The applause buttons were kind of fun but some music would have been nice to cover the sound of the motor. However, I thought the tiara was pretty and it was surprisingly easy to put on and keep on Marisol's head. In my collection, this will probably end up being used mostly as a doll stand. So when I want to dress the girls in dance costumes, this will be just the thing. Value for the money: I couldn't find Marisol's Spotlight Stage (with tiara) on e-bay at the time I was writing this review. The current JLY Spotlight Stage is nearly identical but doesn't come with a tiara. It retails for $30 and has been on sale for $22. I could see getting it at the sale price. Overall grade: B- I have some additional photos posted here: s204.photobucket.com/albums/bb41/Tchrkttn/Marisols%20Stage/

Here's a pic of Nicki wearing it, minus the fishnets and the tap shoes.

I love this outfit! I was going to wait to get it in favor of buying for the forgotten girls, but when I saw it on sale at AGPC last December I couldn't resist.
Just dressed Emily in it tonight and it looks really cute on her. The hat that stays on easily and the little red bow on the tap shoes are nice touches. I like it better than Molly's Miss Victory outfit, fits better too. I only wish it had some matching bloomers like Molly's.
Oh, to answer your question, wesew4, the hat, cape and bodice of the dress are red velvet. The skirt is white, maybe satin , but not really really shiny.

I LOVE this outfit. It was one of maybe 3 that have come along since I've been a teen or adult that I immediately had to order. (No waiting for Christmas/ b-day or telling myself that I should spend the money on something else, etc.) I really like the plaid shirt and the glove and ball. It looks really cute with the jacket and hat from the Cubs giveaways. (Since I only ever dress my girls as Cubs fans, I've never done much with the Reds jersey and hat part.)
