The Blue Beauty Topaz outfit is part of the special edition Birthstone outfit collection and is the outfit for the month of December. From the website:"Shimmery-blue and cool as ice, this blue topaz birthstone-inspired ensemble is a dream for December birthdays and streetwear-chic fashion fans. Premium features: A blue topaz-colored outfit featuring a satin puffer jacket with a collar and rib-knit trim, a knit tank top with gem details, and a printed ombre skirt with a side slit and gems along the waistband A satin ribbon choker with a center faux-blue-topaz gem Also includes: A pair of barrettes with three gems on each and a pair of blue platform low-top sneakers with gems, striped soles, and glittery toes A guide detailing personality traits associated with each gemstone and showcasing all outfits in the collection." Retail cost is $52. Thoughts: (Note: My #24, Susie, is modeling this outfit). You get a lot of nice pieces in this set that can be used for mixing and matching. The top is a tank top so useable for warmer weather without the jacket, as well as cooler weather with the jacket. The ombre effect on the skirt is more subtle than the ombre of the Amazing Amethyst dress. I kind of wish the slit didn't go up quite so high as it lands just about at the hip socket, however it's still a nice skirt overall. The barrettes are metal with plastic gems and look to be nicely made. While the sneakers are not my style, I still think they're nice overall. They're more suited for outings such as going to the movies or the mall rather than for outdoorsy activities like jogging or hiking. The gems are plastic and the choker is just a faux gem sewn onto a ribbon that velcros around the neck. The biggest downfall of this outfit, for me, is the lack of zipper on the jacket. While I don't always zip up my winter jackets, I like having the option to do so this jacket is just screaming for a zipper to complete it. If it was a vest with a long-sleeve top, I could see forgoing the zipper. Overall I give this outfit an A-/B+. I am going to attempt to sew a zipper onto the jacket. The Amazing Amethyst outfit is part of the special edition Birthstone outfit collection and is the outfit for the month of February. From the website: "Purple perfection! Whether honoring a birthday month or sporting a signature color, she’s sure to dazzle in this amethyst-inspired ensemble. Premium features: An allover amethyst-hued outfit featuring an ombre A-line dress with gems along the V-neckline and skirt hem, plus a sheer coat with a bold faux-fur-trimmed collar, faux-fur-trimmed sleeves, and gemstone embellishments A satin ribbon choker with a center faux-amethyst gem and two purple barrettes with gems Also includes: A pair of strappy purple platform sandals with gems A guide detailing personality traits associated with each gemstone and showcasing all outfits in the collection." Retail cost is $52. Thoughts: (*Note: my mom bought this outfit for her dolls and her revised #17, Annie, is modeling it). I love the shades of purple on the dress and sandals. The ombre print of the dress is pretty and I prefer the dress without the coat on. The coat is a thin plastic material with faux fur trim. Without the trim, it could almost double as a warm-weather rain coat, however the fur trim makes that idea not work so well. I think I would have preferred the coat to not be see-through. The sandals are simple and go nicely with the outfit. The barrettes are all plastic so are a bit fragile. The choker isn't anything special. It's just a ribbon with a plastic gem that velcros around the neck. All of the gems are plastic from what I could tell. Grade=B/B- for the coat style and price point. Although I already posted a review of the Mattel violin above, I also now have the Pre-Mattel version and took some comparison photos: *mod edit to remove dead image link
I just got my Ebay purchase of the pre-Mattel version of the violin set (I’ve already had the Mattel version for years). There are a lot of differences and pros and cons to each.
In the photos, the PM is either on the top or on the left. The video at the end is “playing” the PM violin, lol.
Right from the start, the PM version is much lighter. The Mattel case is sturdier and thicker, although the PM case stays open on it’s own.
The PM bow is thinner, made of wood, and has real horse-hair (which is fragile after all these years). The Mattel bow is plastic, thicker, and has plastic instead of horsehair. The biggest thing that bugs me about the Mattel bow is that the stick curves too much in the wrong direction, making it look as though it was tightened way too much.
The PM violin is wood whereas the Mattel violin is plastic. Although the Mattel version is less fragile, I like that the PM version actually tightened the strings a bit and the color is definitely lovelier. The bridge on the PM version is easy to lose which is probably why it’s hard to find it second hand with the bridge. It’s more realistic than the Mattel bridge.
The PM version came with a chunk of real rosin (the one that came with mine was broken smaller, however I was also able to break my old rosin into some smaller chunks). The Mattel rosin is plastic.
The music stands are fairly similar as are the two books (my Mattel books are MIA at the moment but if there are any differences, I don’t think they’re that big).
It’s neat to now own both versions of the violin. I am an adult violin student 🙂.

I just got this outfit today. Overall it has a nice classic feel to it. The dress is a little snug so most likely will not fit PM dolls. I love the gold lines in the plaid and sparkles on the ribbon. The boots are navy with hard plastic soles. They’re a shiny vinyl, along with the wristlet. The wristlet is adorable and is lined with the plaid fabric which is a nice touch. The headband is plastic and has a bit of a cheap feel to it. As with some other doll headbands, it doesn’t fit the best and can create a gap instead of laying directly on the doll’s head. I did manage to get mine to lay without the gap (or very minimal) on my #85. At the $36 price, I would give the outfit a B. At the $25.50 sale price I paid, it’s bumped up to an A-.

From the website: "Joss loves to take her pup, Murph, with her to Dog Beach. This plush bulldog has brown-and-white fur, sweet brown eyes, and her own removable life jacket to keep her safe in the waves." Retail: $30 Although I wish that Murph was a little bit cheaper, I think she is adorable! She is a plush dog like most of the GOTY pets (such as Nicki's dog, Sprocket). Side view of Murph with her life vest on (and the rediculously long tag). The vest is removable and velcros at the bottom. Murph has a purple ribbon collar attached to her. Unlike Sprocket, there is no tag attached to the collar. Murph arrives with her pink tongue sticking out. A nice feature about her mouth is that you can actually fold the tongue up to hide it if you want to. Murph is so cute and a great addition to Joss's collection! She's soft and cuddly and has a sweet little face.

From the website: "Joss is busy going back and forth between the beach and the cheer gym. She keeps her accessories with her so she’s ready for anything. Includes: A multicolored woven bag she uses to carry everything to the beach and the gym A faux cell phone in a case with a strap and interchangeable screen that she uses to check the surf report every morning before she hits the beach A pair of ombre-lens sunglasses to shade her eyes on sunny days A beach-scene notebook with five pages of notes by Joss Her ID card for the cheer gym and three dollar bills she carries with her A key to her brother Liam’s VW Surf Bus on a tassel keychain Two Surf Sister bracelets—one woven and one beaded—from her best friend, Sofia" Retail: $30 Joss's accessories go well with her meet outfit. I like the ombre lenses on her sunglasses and the purse is a nice design. I do wish the purse closed with a snap but other than that, it's nicely made. I think it could be fairly easy to make this style in human size and/or other doll versions with different fabrics. The phone is like other AG smartphones from the TM line and other collections. It comes with one double-sided insert. The notebook has a pretty cover and the decorated pages inside are a nice touch. There are also planty of blank pages that can be left as is or filled out. The bracelets are cute. The beaded one is simple and straightforward; I think it would look better made with sea-glass beads instead of plastic. The woven one would look nice with Lea's collection as well. I think I would have liked two keys on the keychain-the one for the VW Bus and also a house key. The money and ID card aren't really too special but are nice little additions that help complete the set. *Note, I forgot the bracelets in these pictures:

From the Website: "Joss is a fierce surfer girl who never backs down from a challenge—even if it means taking a chance on something new, like trying out for cheer. But landing a spot on the cheer team is harder than it looks: Joss is hard of hearing, and often misses the count. She’s determined to prove herself as a cheerleader and a surfer girl and realizes that an all-in attitude and an open mind might help her fly higher than ever before. *The 18” Joss doll has brown eyes and long layered brown hair with sun-kissed highlights that can be brushed and styled *Her favorite outfit has a zip-up hoodie top with foil-print waves and denim shorts with embroidery on the pockets *A pink print swimsuit means she’s always ready for playing at the beach *Her hearing aid comes with its own carrying case and a brush to keep the sand out of it (plus a backup hearing aid in case she can’t find hers) *Pink flip-flop sandals are perfect for wearing to the beach *She includes the Joss paperback book" Retail: $98 Joss has light skin, brown hair and brown eyes. Her hair is a long, layered style (sort of like a V-cut with layers). It does tend to be on the thin side however I don't really think that's a problem (sometimes thick wigs aren't the best either); my Joss does have a bit of excess glue near her wig cap on the back-right side and had a bit that ended up on a couple of random hair strands nevertheless it's not a big deal for me and doesn't take away from her play value. Joss has a new face mold and her ear mold allows for her hearing aid to be placed in her right ear without requiring a hole like the TM add-on. Joss comes in a coral-pink and blue one-piece swimsuit, denim shorts, a white and aqua blue hoodie and coral-pink sandals. She also comes with two aqua blue and clear hearing aids, an aqua blue hearing aid case and a pretend brush to "clean" her hearing aids. She also comes with a basic pair of underwear like most of the current modern dolls have which was a nice addition (Nicki is jealous, lol). Joss also comes with her first book. Joss's swimsuit is a simple one-piece that just slips on and off. It has a cute design and looks nice with the hoodie and shorts. Joss's hoodie is white and aqua blue. There is a rainbow foil wave print on the arms and a metallic wave logo on the left chest. I love the design and that it's shiny foil-print, although I'm not sure if the graphics might be prone to eventual peeling. The back of the hoodie is plain. Joss's shorts have three buttons down the front and closes with velcro. She has three front pockets (two on the right and one on the left. Above the left pocket is also a pink and green zigzag embroidered design. The wider pockets are shallow which is kind of a bummer however at least she has real pockets and not just stitching to look like them. Her shorts also have real belt loops (two on either side in the front and one loop in the back) so she could wear belts from other outfits. Joss's sandals are a coral pink that goes with her bathing suit. The sandals are all plastic but do stay on her feet nicely, unlike some doll sandals that slip off easily. Joss's hearing aids are aqua blue and clear. They only fit in her right ear. They stay on fairly well, although can be knocked out when changing the doll's outfit, styling her hair or doing certain activities with her. They're also small so might be easily lost. She does come with an extra hearing aid which is nice. I'm not sure if, over time and with use, the plastic could start to outstretch a little or not. The hearing aid case is a light aqua blue and holds both hearing aids as well as a small plastic brush. The bristles on the brush are a molded plastic which is a bummer, however there are some containers of jewelry cleaner that come with small brushes in case anyone ever wants one with real bristles (just be sure to wash it thoroughly first). Joss is a very pretty doll and it is nice that she has a hearing disability yet doesn't allow it to hold her back. Overall, I think her meet outfit is cute and is perfect for a day of fun in the sun at the beach (or pool). A+!

Website Description: She can explore all the outdoor market offers in this fresh and fruity outfit. It includes: A lemon-print drop-waist sleeveless dress with a pink bow at the waist and oversized pockets A pair of silver platform sandals A canvas tote with a “Buy Local” graphic A fabric headband with a bow Retail Price= $28 This outfit ties in with the Berry Fresh themed Mix and Match pieces. This is a cute, summery dress, perfect for a visit to a local farmer's market, sipping lemonade, or for other outings. The has a nice, vibrant print of flowers and lemons, with a ribbon tied into a bow at the waist and ribbon straps. I think this is a cute dress that will hopefully look nice and many dolls. It also comes with an adorable tote bag that can be used for any items your doll buys or for storing her things during an outing. I give it an A- for the hard soles on the sandals and the wrinkly fabric. The fabric on the dress is a bit thin however it is not see-through. It can wrinkle easily, however. Still it is nice for hot Spring and Summer days. The dress has grosgrain ribbon straps and matching ribbon at the waistband. The best part about the dress might just be the real pockets which I was happy to see. The sandals are silver platform sandals with a hard plastic sole, unlike Julie's original meet sandals. They were pretty easy to get on Mattel doll feet. I think they would make a nice versatile piece although in real life they would be uncomfortable to wear due to the hard soles. For a doll, that's fine though. The headband is a pink that matches the ribbon. It has elastic on the back which I prefer over the velcro headbands. The tote is a nice addition to the outfit. It says "Eat Local" over a pink strawberry graphic. The bag is a nice size to put some items in, whether it be doll food or things like books/notebooks. Your doll can help save on plastic when she uses this reusable tote bag to buy groceries. Overall, I think this is a pretty outfit with a fun floral and fruity print on the dress and bag. It would also tie in nicely with Blaire's collection.

Blaire's PJs come with a light plum floral graphic tee with ruffle sleeves, white floral-print ruffle shorts and plum slippers with gray pompoms. I think this a cute set and do not find it to be too short or tight. It fits my Blaire nicely and is easy to get on and off. I love the graphic on the shirt and the soft, fluffy pompoms on the slippers. The print on the shorts is cute as well. I would give this set a B+ as I do kind of wish that it came with a hair accessory and the shiny graphic may or may not be prone to peeling off (I'm hoping it won't however I'm not sure). The graphic on the shirt is a shiny decal with a floral design and the quote "Let your mind bloom." I love the personal growth quote and graphic and this is a nice shirt to help spread some positivity. As noted above, I am hoping that the decal will not peel off (so far mine has been fine), however I'm not sure if there might be a possibility of it happening on some shirts/with time, etc. The shorts are white with a simple floral print and ruffles that come down the sides and around each leg. I find these shorts fairly comparable in length to Saige's PJ shorts. The slippers are a velour(?) type of fabric in a pretty plum color with soft gray pompoms on top. They're a nice, simple design and the fluffy pompoms are a nice touch. Overall, I think this is a cute PJ set and looks great on Blaire. It's also a good for any doll who is working on personal growth and could use some positivity.

From the AG website description: "This festive outfit is made for twirling at holiday parties. It features: A bright-red velvet dress with sparkly rhinestones at one shoulder for a festive touch A red satin headband with rhinestones to sweep back her hair A pretty purse with silver foil accents to hold her essentials Silver shoes with crisscross ankle straps" retail: $36 I got this dress after Christmas when it was on sale for half off. It's nicely made with mesh and plastic jewels on the bodice and a nice thick velvet skirt. The outfit also comes with matching cream and silver snowflake print shoes and purse and a red jeweled headband. Overall I think this is a beautiful outfit. I like the length and thickness of it. It doesn't seem to be too tight-fits on my new #58 just fine. The purse and shoes have a cute snowflake print on them. The only thing I don't care about the set aside from "long redicu-tag" on the headband is that the purse has no closure. I may add a snap to mine but wish that it had come with one-or even a small velcro closure. Aside from that, I think it's a nice outfit that's perfect for December holidays as well as Valentine's Day. I give this outfit an A- for the lack of closure on the purse. Here are a few pictures of Kensington in this outfit:

I got my #4, Gia Natalia Kwan, in 2015 from Ebay. She is circa 2000-2002 as she came in the Urban Outfit (sans undies and socks) and has the "American Gril" body tag. I didn't get a chance to get #4 before she retired and preferred the pie-bangs over the revised bangs on her (my #19 has the revised bangs which suits her). I'm so glad I had won this cutie; she is such a pretty doll. Gia is Hawaiian on her mom's side and Chinese on her dad's side.

This is a cute accessory set, perfect for dolls who love school and/or are into writing and also love going to a cafe. The purse has a chain strap and has a little embroidered gold bow on the front. It holds the notebook and pen inside. The notebook has a butterfly graphic on the front and has pink lined pages inside. The drink says "hot cocoa" on it but you can also pretend it's a latte or coffee if that is what your doll wants/is allowed to drink (or maybe she's drinking a hot cocoa latte). I kind of wish that they had omitted the "hot cocoa" part but it's not that big of a deal. The cover does come off and the foam is in the shape of a heart. It also says "American Girl Cafe" on the sticker. The necklace is gold butterfly on a pink braided cord.

"Her doll will shine bright this holiday season in this gorgeous golden outfit! It includes: *A sparkly tunic covered in sequins with taffeta at the edges *Black leggings with decorative pretend gemstones *Glittery golden shoes with ankle straps *A bright golden ring with a single pretend accent gem *A matching black satin headband with a row of gleaming pretend gemstones" I decided to order the Golden Sparkle Outfit during the "Buy More Save More" deal, along with a couple of other items. I think it's pretty on Lena (fka Lea) and looks nice with her coloring. Overall it's a nice outfit, although the shoes are too tight/small. This outfit comes with the tunic, leggings, headband, ring and shoes. The top is full of golden sequins that are attached to black mesh/tulle material (doll hair can get caught up in it a bit though). It's lined by the gold taffeta that is also on the collar, sleeves and bottom. The velcro is the thicker/snaggy type. It's a pretty top without being too over-the-top; a nice and simple design. The ring has a plastic jewel and adds some bling to the outfit. Like other AG rings, it has the potential to become lost easily, so I wouldn't recommend taking a doll out of the house with it on. The headband is black satin with plastic jewels; It's the kind that stretches over the head. The leggings are black knit with three plastic jewels on the side. I think the jewels add a nice touch to spice up the leggings a bit while still keeping things simple. The shoes are sparkly gold vinyl, similar to Isabelle's Meet shoes. The strap moves around (it goes through a loop in the back but is not stitched to the loop). While pretty, the shoes are too tight/small. There's no way a pair of tights or socks could fit under them, say if you paired them with another outfit. You can see the shape of the doll's heel through the shoes. Aside from the tightness of the shoes, I think this a pretty holiday outfit; it's a simple, elegant style. I think the ring was a nice addition and I like the jewels on the leggings, although I'm not sure if it might cut down on the versatility of them or not. Due to the poor fit of the shoes, I would rate this an A-.

Retails for $34. From the AG site: "This spooky-chic outfit includes capri-length leggings, fingerless gloves, and a tee—all with glow-in-the-dark skeleton graphics on the front, plus a glittery pink heart in the ribcage on the shirt. The set comes with a shimmery three-layer tulle skirt, plus a headband and glittery shoes." I picked this costume up at Natick in August. It's a cute skeleton costume that seems to be on trend with ones I've seen the past few years, with the tulle skirt. I love the little star an sparkly heart on the shirt and the star on the leggings as well. The tulle skirt is sparkly black tulle layered over plain black tulle and pink tulle. I like the fingerless gloves on the costume. I do wish that the shirt was a tad longer though. I think both the shirt and tulle skirt, along with the headband and shoes, are all great for mix and matching as well. the shoes are similar to black shoes from the Spooky Fun outfit, only they're sparkly pink. The headband is plain but is the same sparkly pink as the shoes. One of the best parts of this costume has to be that it glows in the dark! I give this outfit an A.

I just bought this outfit from Ebay, after wanting it for years, and am so happy to have it! I love Addy Learns A Lesson and I love the old core six-book outfits. I'm glad I was able to get this with the hard to find medal. It's a sweet outfit and looks great on Addy. I love that the jacket is separate from the blouse, which adds a bit of mix and match potential with other outfits (such as if you have the newer School Outfit also, and Addy doesn't want to wear a jacket with that one). Mine is tagged "Made in China for Pleasant Company, 1994." The attention to detail is wonderful and it's such a classic piece for her collection. A+++++ Here are a review video and some photos: A close-up of the medal. The trim on the jacket and skirt.

Elsie is finally here! She was my Christmas 2015 doll and had been waiting in the closet, all wrapped up, since August. She's so sweet and has a nice wig with bouncy curls. While I recurled my #26's hair into the bigger sausage curls, soon after getting her, I think Elsie's will generally stay in the smaller, tighter curls. This way I can have a doll with each style of curls. Elsie is so sweet; I think I've always liked #46 a bit more than Cécile (I had a Cécile at one point but wound up gifting her to a friend. As pretty as she was, I just didn't bond with her as much as I'd hoped I would). Here are some pictures I took of her, on Christmas day: Elsie with her sister, Elara (#62). I just trimmed her front curls to even them up a bit/have less contrast between the front and back lengths, so the above photos are from before her trim.

I picked out Maryellen at AG Boston on Monday. She has a nice, thick wig that is curly and bouncy. Her bangs are a cute future; I actually like that they don't go all the way across as it adds some variety to my banged dolls. Maryellen arrives in a cute aqua green, coral and white striped dress, an aqua green shrug with a monogrammed "M", an aqua green ribbon attached to a hair elastic, white undies, and black t-strap shoes. I love her dress and the colors are really nice. Aqua green is one of my favorite colors. I do kind of wish that her hair ribbon was a real ribbon because the elastics don't last forever. Her shrug is a nice feature although the "M" does limit it a tad, when trying to mix and match. You could probably pin something to cover it, like a fake flower, or just use it on dolls who have names starting with "M." Overall Maryellen is a cutie; I like that while her coloring is close o Mia's, it's different (similar to how Nicki and Saige are). Here is a review video: And some photos of Maryellen: And a comparison of Mia and Maryellen:

Grace is a pretty doll; I love the highlights in her hair and her cute sprinkling of freckles. Her bangs are also nice on her; mine has pretty full side bangs. My mom and I ordered her with her ears pierced for the exclusive earrings. I like them but I don't get why they give her two pairs of red hearts. Why they couldn't make one pair pink or something, I have no idea. Or some pink gems. Her shirt is cute, although I wish the pink stripes were done a tad differently; I kind of wish that they went "behind" the graphic instead of in front. Still, it's a cute, casual top. I like that the stripes are glittery. The pink skirt is cute but nothing really spectacular. I like the bow on it and it would be good for mixing and matching. Grace's boots are cute. I like the bows on the sides. I haven't yet opened the bracelet so I can't really comment on that yet. Here is an opening and review video that I made about Grace (*note that my Grace isn't actually officially mine until Christmas but my mom let me open her to review her). And some photos: A comparison with my mom's Linda (fka Chrissa):

Here is a video review of Grace's Sightseeing Outfit: I ordered the Sightseeing outfit on the 18th and it arrived earlier this week. I love that it has a Paris-look to it without being overly so and it's also great for mixing and matching. The top is black and white striped with 3/4 length sleeves; the chest area is black sequined and it has a white bow on the top left. The shirt has the thinner velcro. It also has the Grace tag on the left sleeve. The skirt is a simple white cotton skirt with two layers of tulle. It is on the thin side but cute nonetheless. The top layer of tulle has flat, fuzzy polka dots. I'm not sure if they could possibly fall off over time. The waistband of the skirt is a grosgrain ribbon I think. It's white with a red stripe; the back has elastic sewn onto the underside of the waistband. The sandals are white with black soles and silver bows. I'm not a big fan of the one strip going down the feet. I would like them better if both strips were parallel instead of perpendicular to each other. I don't mind the normal flip-flops but with the way the dolls' feet are and with the bows being at the ankles, I feel like the one strip is too long and looks awkward. Other than that, the shoes are nice. They have elastic at the heel. The top is my favorite part of the outfit and the skirt is my second favorite. I kind of wish this came with some sort of hair accessory or jewelry piece to tie it together but it can easily be paired with anything white, black or red. Overall it's a nice outfit. B+/A- due to the style of the sandals and thin cotton on the skirt.

From the website: "Your girl can add a bit of sparkle to outdoor adventures with her doll! This outfit includes: A sweater top with a sprinkling of sequins Cuffed cargo shorts with lots of pockets and elastic cords at the cuffs A slim faux-leather belt Fringed fuchsia moccasins" I bought the Sparkly Camp Outfit recently, while it was on sale for $19 (originally $30). It comes with a sparkly purple short-sleeved sweater, blue shorts, a coral belt and pink fringed boots. Overall I really like this outfit, although I think it looks more like a glamping outfit, lol. The sweater has sparkly thread throughout and it has sequins along the front. There is also a faux coral tank strap on the left side. The sweater is off the shoulder. It does have the thicker snagging velcro which is a bit of a bummer but the sweater itself is still cute. It's pretty roomy (I just tried it on my PM #14, over the Valentine shirt she's wearing and it fits pretty well) which is a plus. The shorts are a blue cotton(?) and have front pockets that work. They velcro on the front and have elastic on the back. The cuffs are sewn at the seams so they cannot come down all the way. The shorts also have purple elastic on either side and the left side has two patches, a flower type design and a leaf. The belt is an orangey-coral color which matches the faux tank strap on the sweater as well as part of the patch designs. It's a bit hard to get on and like Isabelle's Metallic Dress belt, maybe prone to splitting/fraying on the end. The boots are a pink fringed moccasin type of style. While I'm not a fan of the boots myself, they seem fairly well made; I'm not sure how the fringe will hold up over time. The sole is all one plastic molded piece. The stitching detail is nice and they velcro up the back. The biggest thing with the boots is that the color doesn't match the rest of the outfit. The sandals from the 2012 Weekend Fun Outfit match the sweater more. Overall this is a cute set with lots of mix and match potential. The sweater is my favorite part of it with the shorts coming in second. From the website: "Valentine Gift Set Item# CHB01 Give a sweet gift to your girl’s doll for Valentine’s Day—or any day! This gift set includes:
A doll-sized tee with a glittery graphic of a Dalmatian puppy wearing a cute cupid costume A pretty red-and-white gift envelope with scalloped edges $12"I got this set a few days ago (ordered it online). It comes in clear soft-plastic packaging. The envelope: This is just a cute thin glossy cardboard envelope for if you plan to gift this to someone. Other than that, there's not much to it. It might be nice for storing small paper items or other small trinkets. The shirt The shirt is adorable and is perfect for Valentine's or anytime. It's a pink and gray raglan top so it's similar to McKenna's PJ top. The pink is a thinner knit than the gray and is a bit see-through if paired with dark pants or a dark skirt. I love the sparkly Dalmatian graphic (it says "I WOOF U" in the heart that he's holding) and the pink and gray colors pair nicely. The shirt has the thicker velcro; I put it on my PM #14, Gabby, and it fits her pretty well. Even though I wish the pink knit was a little thicker, it still gets an A+ from me because it looks so cute and comfy. In the package. The envelope. The shirt.

This is a lovely dress for any fancy occasion! It's also pretty on trend this holiday season. While I sort of wish that the dress had sleeves instead of the vest in the accessory set, it still looks nice sleeveless. The dress has ribbon around the waist, along with a faux jewel. Sparkly shoes with silver bows. Sequinned headband. The top layer of the skirt is asymmetrical which allows the tulle and skirt lining to peek out underneath, which is cute.

Isabelle came home with me on Sept. 8th, 2014, from Natick. Originally I hadn't planned to get her but between pretty display dolls, members' dolls, her books and her movie, I caved. She is so cute and I love her meet outfit and pretty hair and eye combo. While she isn't the most unique doll overall (blonde with hazel eyes and classic mold like Lanie), Isabelle is nevertheless beautiful. She has long straight hair that curls slightly at the ends and she has a unique-to-her magenta pink hair extension piece. I agree that the extension was nice in theory but not in execution. I would much rather have seen three magenta highlight clips a la the Bright and Jewel Highlight sets; while they wouldn't be unique to her, they look better when in the doll's hair and show more color with her hair down. Overall, Isabelle has great hair to style, for younger girls. The highlights would be better to be attached by an older child or an adult as they can be a bit difficult to get in, especially the first time. Isabelle comes in a coral A-lined tee with a ballerina graphic and mesh tulle, sequins and sparkly silver accents that she used to "upcycle" the shirt to make it her own. Isabelle also wears plain coral and light pink undies, silver denim capris with knit cuffs, and sparkly gold sling-back type of shoes with bows. Isabelle has great hair to play with and style. She has a deep side part which does mean that it can lay in her face more than some of the others, when her hair is down. When she arrives, her hair is styled in two small twists on either side that are secured with clear elastic bands. Overall, Isabelle is a great doll! Isabelle says "hi!" I think she looks just like movie-Isabelle here.
Long straight hair for styling. I bought the Bright Highlights set for Isabelle and my other dolls. A video review of Isabelle:

I picked this up at AGB-Boston (almost didn't get it until I saw it on a Caroline display table, along with a few other Isabelle pieces). I agree with others that the sweater is not as soft a knit as some other sweaters. Aside from that, it's a pretty color and a nice, casual piece to add to any modern collection. I like the asymmetrical hem. I also like that it's sheer yet not so much that it can't be worn alone. The sweater has the thinner velcro. The cons for me would be that it feels a little tight around the neckline. It also feels a tad tighter on the left sleeve, when I move my doll's arm up. Overall, I would give this sweater a B+/A-. Here is Olive (fka McKenna) wearing the sweater under her Fancy Dress. Olive does a dance pose:

"Your girl's My American Girl® doll will be oh-so-sweet in this confection of an outfit! It features:
-A dress with a glittery "love" graphic on the front, tiers of satin ruffles at the skirt, and a big printed bow tied at the back shoulders just for fun -A fancy bracelet -Pink sandals with bows at the toes -A "Strong" rectangle charm for the doll's charm-keeper necklace"
I got this outfit, at AGB-Boston (I actually got it with the intention of modifying it into a separate top and skirt). The dress is a pretty light pink color. The top is made of knit t-shirt material. The graphic is nice and has a little bit of foil print and rhinestones on it. The skirt has two tiers of satin and one of a heart print. I do wish that more of the printed tier was seen. The back of the dress features a big bow in the heart print, near the top. The sandals are pink with two little bows. The bracelet has pink sparkly plastic heart beads and closes with a clasp. My overall grade would be an A- for the printed ruffle not being more visible. I also think the outfit looks better as separates although it's pretty as a dress, too. Overall though this is a cute set. I love the color and the graphic on the dress and I think the bracelet is simple and cute. The outfit: "Love" Graphic on the dress: Back of the bodice of the dress: Bracelet: Sandal:

Here is a pic of sisters, Shirley and Mischa. To me, their hair seems "opposite." Mia's hair is reddish with blond highlights (I think of her has strawberry blond) and #21's honey blond has reddish lowlights).
