My Sonali's body *looks* orangey at first glance, until you see the exact same body color on a doll who's skin it actually matches, and then it doesn't look "orangey" so much as "too light". But it still comes off to me as "orangey" without a reference doll. Her body color is an exact match with Candace, my recently purchased 2008-tagged #26 (I pantsed them and compared butts side by side), and looks the same as Marisol's as well, though Sonali's skin is, of course, much darker than either of those two other dolls.
She'd look a lot less strange if they used the same color fabric as on Addy instead, since their skin's a closer match. Rollsinsnow's Sonali may or may not have the exact same body color as mine, I can't tell from a photo, but based on my Sonali, the answer to the "orangey" question is both "yes" and "no" at the same time. Neither Candace nor Marisol come off as "orangey" to me, so it's relative. But they should be labelling Sonali as "dark skinned" and sticking her on that line to get her body fabric, she'll look even nicer in a bikini that way. I do like that bikini on her, though, is that AG or another brand?
Just for reference, who's body color does Kaya match? The dark skinned dolls or the medium skinned ones? Since there seems to be a lot of variations in her skin tone...

This is the version released in 2008 (Star Hoodie release) with the new, thinner bangs and a skin part instead of the pie wedge ones. I got mine in February 2009, she's got a 2008 body tag, I haven't beheaded her to see if she's strung with knots or ferrules, but given that she's a revised doll, probably knots. That said, she arrived nice and tight, hopefully she'll hold up well. (in the photos where she's being held or leaning up against something, it's not because she can't stand, but because there's no stable surface, or I wanted the light at a different angle) She's a *really* cute doll, I think she looks better with the new bangs, but even this version is still nearly as close to the top of the "Dolls that people would be least likely to buy if they only ever saw AG stock photos" list as the old one was. Her hair's lovely and silky, and has the shorter hairs at the back of the so you can put her hair in pigtails without the wig cap showing. It's not overly thick, and it's not thin, it seems just right. The pics seem to wash out her face color just a little, and show shadows by her eyes that aren't there when you're just looking at the doll, rest assured, she has standard Mattel face paint and no strange creases by her eyes or anything! (maybe she's just tired from being up this late?) I got her directly from AG, so I had her ears pierced, she's the only doll I have with removable earrings, and I haven't changed the silver star studs she came in. My biggest complaint is about the outfit, the way the hoodie and the shirt underneath aren't two pieces. Perfectly nice colored shirt that would go with everything. Cute little hoodie that could go with a bunch of stuff. Oh, but to save a little tiny bit of fabric, they *can't*! Just...fail. I could understand if they were some bizarre print that would go with nothing but each other, but you don't *do* that to neutral basics! Bad AG! Bad, bad! And the shoes would have been nicer if they hadn't been that pink, either. Doll: A+, outfit: B, since it's not horribly tacky and hasn't fallen apart, but it's such a waste of potential. Pictures (in which we finally learn, at the end of the shoot, that Manual White Balance Covers A Multitude of Lighting Sins - sorry, Earth, I still refuse to use fluorescent bulbs in my bedroom):

My WB Samantha just came today, and when you hold her up to my PM tan bodied Sam, they just look like different dolls. There's a huge difference in hair color, and the faces just aren't quite the same, either. Or the eyelashes. They don't seem redundant at all, now that I've seen them both together. Not that anyone ever really thought I'd sell the first one anyways, even if I had mentioned that I'd think about it. Perhaps this one will have an interest in actually *being* Samantha, as opposed to First AG And Therefore Official Dolly Overlord, as seems to be the other one's position... And her hair is in such wonderful condition, for such an old doll! Not even remotely like my WB Kirsten's rat's nest, this is soft and has more curl to it than tan-bodied Samantha's. ETA: The pics! She does actually stand up on her own just fine, much better than my PM Samantha, who's had liposuction and has one funny hip, in addition to just plain looser joints to start with, but as she was already locked into the doll stand when I decided to take the pics, she stayed there. I should have taken a pic of her hair from the back, too, it's lovely. She doesn't fit the shoes that came with the Mattel "Samantha's shoes and socks" set (and her butt's a bit of a tight fit in those tights), so I stuck Nellie's shoes on her. She'd come in a different dress, and has swiped PM Samantha's meet dress. The shoes the PM doll came in probably would have fit the WB doll, but I believe they're actually Felicity's. Samantha also isn't quite as busty as she appears - I stuck a used dryer sheet up her dress to try and freshen her up a bit, and it won't wrap tightly around the body at the top. Far from being jealous of the new "proper" Samantha, PM Sam (who had never really seemed to fit her character too much to me, but had threatened to throw a fit if I ever brought Gwen in the house and done who knows what to the other doll) seems almost relieved, if anything, to not have to play the part of "Samantha Parkington" anymore Rating for "Real" (WB) Samantha doll: A+ Can't give the original outfit a rating, since I don't have any pieces of it.

I got these since they were on sale, figured it'd be a good choice to see if I could fit into anything AG says, since I'm not a kid anymore, nor particularly tiny. I got the XL, and they fit just fine, the arms and legs are the right length, even. I'm 5'7", average build, slightly above average chest, for sizing reference. Wouldn't recommend them to anyone significantly taller unless they don't mind them being a tiny bit short, but you don't have to regularly shop the children's department to fit them.
I love the color and the Chinese style of them - around people that have never heard of AG, you could probably get away with wearing the top out of the house! The fabric's very soft and silky, quite thin, but as a result pretty snaggy - you do *not* want to let it get near velcro. My watch has a velcro strap, so I'm not sure how the one wrist will hold up. Don't dress your dolls while you're wearing them!
Overall, B, because of how it snags on *everything*. If it didn't, it'd be A or A+.
Edited to change rating after wearing them and getting more and more snags...

Ida Bean is the only doll's doll I've got, she's so much cuter than the others! And I love that she's actually got the beans in her arms and legs! She just looks like a little cloth doll of her size *should*, and Addy doesn't seem to get too annoyed when I pick up "her" doll to play with her.

I got my Addy today, and she's beautiful, she looks better IRL than in pictures!
That said, on mine, the earrings seem to sit a bit more "off" than on the others I've seen, her joints seem kinda loose (though she can still stand up) compared to the other dolls I've gotten new, the book came a little bit warped, and you can see the skin of her wig cap a tiny bit in the front which looks a little odd. Though the wig bit was easily fixed with a black Sharpie. I was testing her joints a bit and wondering if they were dumping the returned and passed over dolls on the people that ordered the Christmas specials, and briefly wondered if it was bad enough to send her back (before I found she'd still stand up) and she just shot me a look that said "Don't you dare!", so that's that. Since she's not one of the ones I might consider reselling later, I don't need absolute perfection and incredibly tight limbs to prove she wasn't played with. And I think she'd kill me if I tried!
I took her hair down to check the rest of the wig, seems to be ok. Can't figure out how exactly to stick it back up like it was before, though. Her hair's less nappy than my PM Kirsten's - it feels a *lot* like mine. It's softer than my Samantha's when you lean your face on it, as I'm doing now to keep her upright on my lap while I type.
That said, I'm changing her history so that she made it all the way to Canada, rather than stopping in Philadelphia!
