I eased Lanie from Em's grasp tonight for some pics with traveling Erin....so a quick brush and finger curl...and....
...remember, this is a dolly well loved for 10 months by Em, who is just turning 2.
ETA: 12/13/10
Lanie got another grooming today, this time I remembered to take before pics.

One thing that bed always reminds me of: how couples were encouraged to sleep in twin beds for public health reasons (to stop the spread of disease.) Rob and Laura slept in separate beds in the 60's. Lucy and Ricky bucked convention and slept (gasp) together on their show in the 50's. Molly's bed looks like one of a pair to me. In the book illustrations, she has 2 in her room....and that is how my grandmother had hers as well. ETA:

I think I am the only one who LOVES it. Mine is a double personal reason. My great grandmother had an almost identical set of beds (but in hunter green) in one of her guest rooms, set up in the 40's for my mom and uncle (my uncle was born in 1937 and my mom in 1939). The beds had padded headboards, exact same style bed cover, they even were corduroy...but she had the beds pushed against the walls and matching bolsters on the beds, so they created daybeds. Some day I want to create bolsters for my Molly and Emily's bed. ETA: I meant to add, I always thought it was amazing that they stayed to same for about 50 years. They weren't changed until she passed away in the early 90's.Second, my room was all done in red and white growing up, as red was my favorite color

Mine runs smoothly. It did rub on the front fender a bit, but I just stretch the fender and now it's fine.

I wouldn't call it junk, but it definitely is not worth the original price tag. My dd asked for it for Christmas. I was surpised how heavy the stool is though, ostensibly so that you can lean your doll against it- cause they certainly can't sit on it. The microphone and stand do have lots of play value though. One warning: We left some of the alphabet stickers on the marquee sign for about a month or so- and they would not peel off. Well, they did peel off- but stripped off the paper backing from the sign with them too. I promptly called cs and they sent me out a new one immediately. And they sent a prepaid box for me to ship the damaged one back to them in. At least they stand behind their products. I asked if this was an ongoing quality issue with this item. The rep did say there had been some returned with that similar problem. It has only been a few weeks since we did the exchange. I have been periodically checking to see if the stickers peel off without incident. So far so good. With the paper nature of the sign, I fully expected that to be the case. I did cover the sign with clear contact paper to avoid that. You might want to do that when the new one comes.

I bought this set when it was on sale for $32, instead of $42. Honestly, it's not even worth $12. The microphone is cheaply made and not detailed well at all. The sign and stickers are not much better. The 'stool' is actually metal and well made....BUT there is no way a doll can sit on it. JMHO, but don't waste your money. Grade: F I had to go back and re-read my review...but yep, I still stand by it. I am pretty sure it's the only F I have given, I don't think I have given any Ds and only a handful of Cs, so I am actually not a real harsh grader. Even my DS9, who loves just about all the furniture and accessories doesn't like or use it, even though he does love the guitar. I will be interested to see what others think.

I am sorry I am feeling too lazy too take extra pictures right now, but will and do an actual review in a day or so...but hope this helps in the mean time. I have it set up as Tyson's Ice cream Parlor for Sam and it gets a lot of play. It is very well made and sturdy. The table is good sized, just a bit smaller than Sam's wicker table. It can be a bit of a challenge to get the dolls to sit in them (as usually) but find it helps to tuck the dolls in tight.

This is one of my least favorite accessory sets I have gotten from AG. The tote and watering can are plastic and very smooth so they feel very plastic, and the watering car is too small. The plant had possibilities, but for some odd reason they include 4 different types and colors of flowers, that's one odd plant. Plus, the way you put the flowers on is to shove them one to the plant through a small hole in the fabric flower....that should last a long time. The seed packets are paper, as is the journal and the flower press, although it looks like it could possibly work, is just cardboard and elastic. The best part of the set is the little shovel, the handle is plastic, but is textured, so it doesn't have that cheap plastic feel to it and the shovel is metal. Grade: C-

Tinalala, the bunny's name is Lulu (in the book). On the computer screens, I thought they were static clings? Does the paper backing come off, so they 'stick' to the computer.

I was not interested when I saw it in the catalog, but after seeing it on a doll at AGPLA, I knew I had to have it. I like it, it reminds me of a recital dress for some reason.

I love this outfit! The good: The jacket is the best part. It is a butter yellow with great flower detail. The pants are soft and cozy. The mittens with the long string are a nice touch. The bad: The shoes are very plastic feeling. The Missing: This really needs an undershirt or turtleneck for under the bibs and who wears boots with no socks. Grade: B

I got this in the Cyber Monday sael for $34, and I am glad I got it at that price. It is very cute, and I actually bought it for Samantha's house which it actually is closer to in time frame. Ironically, it is almost the exact same one shown in Sam's scenes and settings. It is very cute, but I thought very plastic feeling and really needs some cookware. For $34 I give it a B+ If I had paid $68 it would have got a C-

I don't want to do an actual review since I don't actually have it, but I did play with it AGPLA and decided against it. It is the only item I don't own from Chrissa's collection (other than the actual Gwen and Sonali doll), as z 'complietest' I think that says something.
The benches are very wobbly, and fell quiet. The dolls do not sit well on the benches at all. I think the actual play-ability is very limited. Even at the sale price of $60, you might be better off looking for one of the many custom/home made tables on ebay.

We love ours. It gets used as Tyson's ice cream parlor for Sam and bakery, cafe, etc for the modern girls. My DS9 plays with it all the time and my niece was here last weekend and she played with it for about an hour and a half. Very well made

I really like this outfit. The jacket might be a bit to structured for the floaty skirt, but I like it never-the-less. Someone mentioned that the jacket was an orangy pink, mine is not. Mine is more a vibrant, deep rose color. The skirt embroidery is gorgeous. I love the shoes and ankle straps (even if it did take me a bit to figure them out). The sleeper item in the outfit is the super cute star clips...ironically, I did not know they were part of the outfit when I bought it, so I was pleasantly surprised.

Although, I am not sure about the layer look for PJs, but it is adorable never the less. The pink shirt has actual buttons instead of velcro. The waffle top can easily be used with jeans or shorts, as well.

I really like the capris in this outfit, very detailed. The top would have been much cuter without the writing. The bracelet and watch are nice extras (which I of course forgot to put on for the pics.) The sandals and match well, and I had no problem standing Melody in them. I liked how it matched well with the current camp hoodie. Grade: B

The towel is super cute, plush and nice. I like see through plastic beach bags, so the bag was a huge draw for me. The shoes are just ok...pretty plasticy

This was on my must have list for awhile..it is everything I dreamed of. Just as PJs, it is super cute. But as added bonuses, the tank and tee can be be mixed with jeans. The heart backpack is perfect for sleep-overs, it is a pillow that can hold your PJs. The wings, while not my style are cute. Grade: A

Warning: sleeper outfit alert! This outfit was very low on my list. I am so glad I ran across a good deal on ebay. It is def. on my top 10. It is so true to life. Cute, but not too cutsie. My favorite is the shirt, so perfect. Soft and comfy and the cute cute detail...yum! The pants are thin, but no more so than any other rip stop sweat pants. The jacket and shoes are secondary, but still nice. Grade: A+

I love this dress, the detail is simply amazing. I love that her panties match perfectly. Her jewlery, purse, frisbee are great...but I think my favorite is the shoes...they are a cross between sandals and espadrilles, yummy!

OK, I will admit Kailey is my least favorite LE...but then again, I am not a huge blonde fan...but I do really like Kailey. Her highlights/lowlights are amazing! It really makes me wonder why they don't do more color combos, the effect is stunning.
Her coloring is fabulous as well. I like her deep brown eyes as well.
Her hair is a bit thin, but not as bad as I feared. I do believe it is a function of making the hair lay correctly. It doesn't seem thin at all, when left in the original style...but if you start 'playng' with it at all, it does.

I am actually not a huge fan of the meet outfit.
I find the clasp on boots very hard to use, the gathering on the skirt just looks a bit odd, and frankly the tights are just ugly. The shirt is just OK...but the jacket is super cute.

I think Lindsey is so adorable. When I was on a trip to AGPLA, I saw her in the GOTY display...I knew I had to have her.
Her hair is so different and age appropriate, I think. Her eyes are so clear and bright. My used gal does have a bit of green/gray tint, which I understand is common. But, luckily her hair is surprisingly, not dry.

Love this outfit...the shoes not so much.
Each of the pieces has so much mix and match possibilities. I actually like the runching on the shorts. The cami and top are a great shade of pink, which lucky for me, is one of favorite colors.
The shoes, for me are the weak link. Honestly, I can't pinpoint anything in particular...they are just ugly.

This set was introduced in 2009 and retired in 2017.
Rebecca is given this beautiful phonograph when she visits Cousin Max’s movie studio. Girls can turn the handle to make it work—three different records really "play" songs that were popular in her day. Includes an album to store the records for next time. While it is plastic, I still like it. The tulip speaker has been referred to as pink, but is more magenta...so it's not like 'barbie pink' and matches the settee well. My great grandmother had an album just like this one, in the same color, so I think the authenticity on that is great. Because it is not wood, I can see how some adult collectors might be disappointed, but the play value is high (9 year old son, has been playing with it for about an hour).

This item was introduced in 2009 and retired in 2015.
When Rebecca visits a movie studio with Cousin Max, she finds this beautiful settee on the set. It has carved wood trim and legs, gracefully curved arms, and a velvety fabric seat. Dimensions: W: 19" x H: 12 1/4" x D: 9"Love it! It fits 2 dolls quite easily. The fabric is rich and heavy and quite appropriate for the time. The wood is stained and detailed. It is expensive, but this is what we talk about, when we say heirloom quality. Grade: A

I, also picked this up because I thought the sweater set was too adorable. As mentioned the pants are a gauzy material...that alone is fine, but they should have lined. It's too bad. They are the only thing dragging down the grade, The shoes are ok. Not a big fan of the plain elastic, but the detailing is nice. Grade: B
