I recently purchased this outfit from a board member, and I am beyond impressed. It is a shame that AG's more recent ballet outfits are not like this one. This set is so realistic and just truly fantastic. I love that it comes with multiple pieces.
I will begin by reviewing the practice set.
The leotard is a basic black short-sleeved leotard. It fits the doll quite nicely and is easy to get on and off. I like that it is black unlike the other AG leotards; it is much more realistic this way. I take ballet to get a PE credit for my college, and the school of dance in which I study has a strict dress code; black leotards are all that is permitted. The same goes for my sisters' dance studio. Grade: A+
The tights are basic pink dance tights. Again, these are very accurate to most studios' dress code. They fit well and are a nice shade...not too bright. Grade: A+

The slippers are basic pink ballet slippers. However, I actually don't find them to be as detailed/accurate as the slippers from the 2-in-1 ballet set. They are cute and fit just fine, but I dislike that they don't have a sole underneath. Grade: A-
Slippers from the Swan Lake set:

L: Swan Lake slipper; R: 2-in-1 ballet slipper:

The white swan tutu is very accurate and detailed. I love the little hints of sparkle around the neckline and sleeves. The tutu is nice and full, and it is attached to the bodice. Mine doesn't close with velcro, though. It closes up and down the back with snaps. I feel that the tutu is too tight and should be pulled up higher, but other than that, I don't have any true complaints. Grade: A-

The swan wigs snap onto the bodice; they are separate as green chile supergirl said. I think this is a good thing. That way, the tutu can work for other ballets, too.

Close-up of wings:

I absolutely adore the headpiece. It is so fun and feathery. I also think the detail is impeccable. Mine fits the doll's head perfectly; it's not too loose or too tight. Grade: A

The pointe shoes are accurate and have the hard toe and bottom. I just wish the color were different, but I have no complaints. They fit fine and are easy to put on and take off. Grade: A

The program is a nice touch. I like that it is printed on both sides and that it goes along with an actual ballet. Grade: A+

Overall, I give this outfit a solid A. I regret passing this up when I first saw it, but I'm glad to own it now.
