My #40 is named Prue, short for Prudence, and I've only had her for a few days, but I think she is a great doll.
Hair: Her wig is very nice. Good thickness, silky hair, and really cute. I thought the length might be slightly awkward but it really isn't. It's just long enough to put in a little ponytail without looking silly and you can do more with it than you might expect just by looking at it. Prue's hair is definitely a very dark brown and you can see shimmery brown highlights when you look at it in bright light. The cut of my doll's hair is slightly odd- when it's all behind her shoulders, it slants down from right to left- but still looks pretty good. I thought it might be because of the side part since #26's hair is like that, but my mother has a #40 as well and her hair slants in the opposite direction! So I think it may have just been a sloppy cut job. Lucky for me (and rather surprisingly), it doesn't really bug me. Both of our dolls have sewn parts. Prue has plenty of short hairs on her wig cap so I can separate the hair into pigtails and have it look great. So far the hair on this doll is really easy to keep looking nice since it's short and doesn't have any curls! Oh and I've noticed some rather substantial differences in hair length from doll to doll. Prue's hair is barely past the shoulder, but I've seen some #40s that I thought were #30 because the hair is so long!
Eyes: Pretty brown eyes, not much to say. This mold is prone to having the left eye smaller than the right. Of the four #40s I have seen in person, Prue is the only one with even eyes. My mom didn't notice her #40 has one eye smaller than the other so I didn't point it out! The eye thing may or may not bother you. If it does, it wouldn't hurt to pick your doll out in person. Her eyebrows are feathered.
Facial Coloring: Prue's coloring is lovely. She has a nice rosiness to her cheeks and nice coral lips, but it doesn't look like she's wearing makeup.
I think that's pretty much all to say. This is a very sweet, very cute doll that looks younger than some of the other AG dolls and looks good in pretty much any color or outfit because of her brown hair and eyes. She gets an A from me!
