Kit loves making her own gifts—and sharing treats! This set includes a pretty outfit and sweet supplies:
A make-believe double boiler that's perfect for "melting" the two pretend chocolate squares from the candy box
A spoon that Kit can use to mix the chocolate before pouring it into the candy mold
Three faux chocolate bunnies
Three sheets of netting and three satin ribbons to wrap the bunnies
A pretty basket rimmed with fabric flowers to carry the treats
A fancy pink dress for Kit—it has a sheer yoke, a tiered skirt, and a satin bow across the waist
Shiny pink T-strap shoes to match her dress
Dress: A
Pros: I really like the fabric, and I LOVE that it's lined! It feels like a quality piece.
Cons: I think it's kind of a strange shade of pink.. I don't think it would look amazing on every doll. Also, there's no special tag. For the price, it would have been nice to have a special tag.
Shoes: A
Pros: I love shiny patten shoes, so naturally I adore these! I love the design too.
Cons: I have none, some have said that they are too pink, but I don't personally think so.
Double Boiler: A
Pros: Adorable! I'm very glad that it comes apart into three pieces. I also like the colors, and even though it is plastic, it is a high quality, heavy plastic.
Cons: none.
Spoon: B+
Pros: Well, I guess it's a good spoon..? I mean, it's a spoon. I do like that they put a fake wood grain in the plastic. I am glad that they included it because I can see kids "mixing" the chocolate in the double boiler.
Cons: It's plastic. That kind of bugs me.
Chocolate: B-
Pros: The box is very cute, and I'm so glad that there are multiple pieces of chocolate! The 4 chocolate pieces fit in the box perfectly.
Cons: The sides of the chocolate box bow out and don't lay well. The chocolate pieces are very plastic-y. I'm usually not too picky about plastic and it bothers me.
Mold: A
Pros: So adorable!! One of my favorite pieces of the set! So shiny! And the bunnies fit in perfectly!
Cons: Well, it's plastic, but it doesn't particularly bother me in this piece. The clamps are pretty small and may get lost easily.
Chocolate Bunnies: A+
Pros: The bunnies were my primary reason for buying this set and they didn't disappoint! They are adorable and fit in the mold perfectly! They are great for play or display! I love all of the detail!
Cons: None! Although it would have been cool if they were chocolate scented…
Mesh Wrappers & Ribbons: B
Pros: Fun to include something to further the play value. They are actually really good quality. I love the colors.
Cons: I probably won't use them much. The bunnies are too cute to cover up!
Basket: A
Pros: So cute! Love the details! It's plastic but the plastic has a faux basket pattern. I love the colors. Size wise I think it's right on target. All three cholate bunnies fit in it easily. A doll can easily hold it, and it's right on par with the other AG Easter Baskets (2001 & 2003). It's also comparable with past historical baskets (Felicity's Shrewsbury Cakes Basket & Kirsten's Fishing Basket).
Cons: None.
Overall: A-
Pros: I've very glad I went ahead and got this set, definitely worth the money in my opinion. It will be great to display in the spring for years to come. The only problem is now I wish that I had Kit's cookstove for the double boiler!
Cons: All the plastic.
