I wasn't sure I wanted this because I hate the way AG sweatpants fit the dolls and I thought the pink sneakers and the pink on the shirt would be overwhelming. I purchased it for $20 with the February monthly special, though, and I'm quite glad I did.
I LOVE how the set looks with jeans rather than the sweatpants. It's very casual and comfortable and real, and with less of the blue, the colors of the shirt aren't so overwhelming. Also, the grey sneakers look fantastic with this.
It's not as easy to see in photos, but the zipper is kind of bulky and makes the jacket fit oddly when open. Here it is with the pink sneakers. You can see how NOT overwhelming the pink is, nor how matchy-matchy, and it looks nice.
The back of the jacket is a bit odd compared to the rest. The collar is stitched down in the front, but it persists in standing up in the back. The area near the band at the bottom is all puffy and funny, but it's not a big deal. I like how faded the logo is: it's almost unnoticeable. As you can see, the ponytail things are the same color pink as the sneakers. They're kind of small, but easy enough to use. There are two in the packet.
It was kind of difficult to zip the jacket up because it fits small. In fact, it's really tight across the middle! But once zipped, it looks okay. Nice for chilly days, I guess, or if her hotdog dripped on her shirt.
The sneakers are really nice. I didn't need to untie them or anything to get them on, but you might need to do so if you use socks (which aren't included, but I don't think socks are worn with this kind of shoe?). There's a little tab at the back of the heel which is helpful for getting them on. I think the laces are a bit long and unnecessary, honestly.
The pants are the same on either side, except the back is a bit roomier for the bum. The legs are flared a bit at the knee, which is okay, but I'd like if they were wide leg all the way down and more structured. The stripes are the same as on the jacket.
The book features two winning short stories from AG mag about pets.
Overall, I feel this is a good B+. The pants are awful, so they knock off a few points, as does the ill-fitting jacket. The niceness of the overall look with jeans bumps it back up, though. Getting it on sale is worth it.
