Version II
This set was revised in late 2007 or early 2008. It is mostly the same as the earlier version. These are the changes:
- Whole sandwich rather than a slice
- Lunchbox lid is no longer hinged
- Vegetables are one piece rather than separate
- The vegetables are different: rather than 1 carrot and a whole apple, you get 1 carrot, 2 sticks of celery, and half an apple
Also, instead of a little pamphlet showing off Kit's school collection, you receive a generic "Kit" pamphlet.

See? Nothing at ALL about her other school things!

This is what you get in the box. I was surprised that the items didn't come packed inside the lunchbox the way the school and hobo supplies were packed inside their bags. Those two sets came in much smaller accessory boxes, while this box was rather large (but not as large as an outfit box).

There are three different pictures on the tin. The top is an airplane, the long side is a train and the short side is a boat. The entire box is green with black and grey printing on the outside and silver on the inside. I think the green is very similar to the bed's enamel color, but I don't have the bed out to make a comparison.

As maybe you can tell, I was highly amused by the "DO NOT EAT" on each of the plastic wrappers. I mean, the food isn't all that realistic!
The sandwich bread has a nice texture. The cheese is curved, so there's a "top" and a "bottom" to the sandwich! It's also outrageously orange cheese. Though there is a line in the mold, the sandwich only looks like it is cut in half. No halves here, only one great big cheese sandwich.
The oatmeal cookie looks pretty good, too, until you turn it over - the bottom isn't really molded at all, it's just got this weird waffle pattern to it, like the bottom of some of the JLY shoes. Also, the raisins are in a star shape! I don't know if they all are, but I suspect so. By the way, the raisins aren't part of the mold: they're dabs of paint on top of the brown cookie.
The underside of the veggies is decent, except the apple has a blue cast to it and numbers and letters printed in - I guess that's the mold ID or something.

Everything fits in the box pretty well, but I'd like it better if they were wrapped in wax paper first, or something! The new shape of the veggies is just barely short enough to fit. I was afraid that it wouldn't, until it dropped in!

The napkin is too big for the box when folded into fourths, the way it arrives. You have to tuck it in for it to fit, which isn't a big deal, but I thought I'd mention it.

Here's the box (with everything inside) next to Beatrice for reference. The handles are fully functional and can rotate almost all the way around the box.
I feel that it's a bit on the small side, and the food could be better (for example, not having the sandwich or veggies attached to each other!), but overall, it's decent. The apple looks a lot like the one that came with the Horselover Outfit. If you have that one, you'll be able to have the one half as part of the solid veggie V, and another half for Kit to munch on.
