Samantha Doll - Beforever (BF)

I wasn't going to buy Samantha, but when I saw her return I had to have her. I was introduced to AG when I was about 8 (1992), so there weren't many dolls to choose from. Felicity was my first pick, but I loved that the "pretty doll" looked like me and not my sister (blond/blue) for a change. I was never able to get a doll growing up, and when I got back into dolls most of the PC girls were gone. I was surprised when AG announced that Samantha was returning. I'm not a big fan of pink, but I had a dress almost just like her new meet growing up, so I HAD to get that. While looking at the dress, I fell in love with the doll. She is going to be my time traveler/sort of mini-me/Diana Barry.

She still has pie bangs and curly hair, I know there has been debate about how curly it is now vs. Mattel v1 vs. PC, but I think it seems about the same. I don't recall much more than some wave in some early catalogs and a fair amount of curl in others-the variation seems about the same to me. The wig is smoother than my other dolls, and I am assuming, earlier Samanthas. It is easy to brush and the curls bounce back, I think her hair feels nice. Mine is a little on the thin side, but not bad thin, just enough so it lays nicely. She also still has decal brown eyes, the only major difference is the eyebrows and you can't really see them.
