When seated beside a standing 18" doll, the dragon's head comes up to the doll's fingertips. I'm terrible at visualizing measurements, so hopefully this is helpful for someone else, too 
I think $12 is a very reasonable price for a stuffed animal of this quality. Young children will love exploring the different textures on the dragon - satiny wings and horns, soft body, fuzzy spine, etc. I do think $30 is steep for the dragon, but the sale price is a bargain.
