I wasn't sure about this dress when it came out in August. Sam already has at least three pink or white frilly warm-weather dresses in her collection. Did she need this? I finally caved in when I saw some rave reviews online and decided that, if nothing else, the shoes were different. My best friend got this for me for Christmas.
First of all, this dress is VERY tight on my PM Samantha! I did get it on her with a little squeezing. The boots, nifty as they are, are tight too. It's worth it when you get it on her, though. This outfit is so cute! I love the soft, silky fabric and the very sweet skirt, with its tiers of lace and pink ruffles. The boots are both beautifully elegant and historically accurate. The pearl buttons aren't functional, but they're a nice touch. (I also appreciate the lavender bow scrunchie - I'm not good with bows, either.) The tights are simple white tights, but they're nice and thick.
This is a very sweet spring-summer outfit for Rebecca, Nellie, BeForever or Mattel Samantha, or other slimmer early 20th century girls.
