I just got this set yesterday and it was totally worth it, if only for the look on my husband's face! (It works! It's just like yours!) Should have been metal but would have been prohibitively expensive to make so I kind of understand. The white attachment is the beater, the gray one is supposed to be the wire whip which would be used for whipped cream, etc. Real ones aren't completely "stiff" either. The sifter doesn't work, but at least it is more realistically sized, unlike the one from the earlier baking set. The measuring cups are ridiculously small and flimsy, better to have left them out or made them like the one's from Kit's Christmas baking set, which were metal. The tablet...why is it pink? Why is the stand attached? Just, duh. Little magazine is cute, and wooden spoon is really wood - awesome. Pastry cutter is plastic but at least there are slots on the bottom. If that were actually realistic, it could certainly cut little fingers so I'm glad it's not. I too think the set is somewhat overpriced and agree at the $58 price point. But what are you gonna do...gotta have that mixer.
