I bought this set for my PM Josefina from 1997. I had to stretch the dress to get it to fit and there is no way I'm going to be able to fit the pantaloons from the first set under the dress - it is too tight. As Wickfield mentioned, this set has the fourth pair of black shoes for Josefina. They're taller on the sides and front than the first Christmas set. I had to struggle to get them on my Josefina's feet. The socks and the mantilla are both nice. I particularly love the mantilla for the same reasons Wickfield mentions: it goes with more of Josefina's things.
From what I have read on mantillas, Josefina could have worn either color; she would have only been restricted to wearing black were she to meet the pope or possibly at funerals.
