I have been surprised by how much variation the 'same' Gabriela dolls can have so thought I'd post about my experience, maybe it will be helpful to someone! Recently I knew we needed Gabby for our collection but we are not super close to a store and there just wasn't going to be a good time to get there so I took the risk and ordered her online. I knew i'd rather pick her out in person, but sometimes that just doesn't work for our schedule! I knew she'd likely have the new fabric and I was correct, so, b/c I expected that it was not a disappointment. What was a slight disappoint was, almost immediately upon opening the box I noticed the Gabby we received had a *slight* chip in her tooth paint (or maybe it just simply wasn't applied correctly), so to me she looked like she had a chipped tooth
It was disappointing b/c our daughter had been wanting her for a while (and I had too!), then we finally ordered her, received her and.... there it was. It was really not a big deal, I noticed it right away, but I doubt our young daughter would have, but I knew it would bother me! These dolls aren't just something I buy for toys for our kids, I will keep them forever and they can be played with and enjoyed now by me and my girls so I don't want to accept a doll that will bother me (with that tooth!) every time I look at her! So I called AG and they offered to send another one & i'll send the first one back. Somehow though, the replacement order didn't go through (I noticed when I checked a day or 2 later), but I called to check on that and the lady was very helpful to get the replacement doll actually sent out. She arrived today, and this is our Gabby! I am so excited. It is thoroughly interesting to me all of the subtle differences between 2 Gabby dolls that arrived within 1 week of each other. Like I said before, I expected the new fabric and that I wouldn't be receiving a re packaged 46 (we don't have that doll anyways), but there are some obvious differences! We are keeping the second doll (note in below photo the 2nd doll that we kept is on your left!) b/c she not only had perfect teeth
but she also has an overall nicer face IMO. A sweeter expression, eyes that are not as closely set as the first and, I believe, a nicer wig. I thought i'd prefer the darker lips, but our first had darker lips than the second but I still ended up much preferring the second Gabby. The first's face was overall darker however so it wasn't just the lips. In comparing their limbs, they both seemed to be the same color. The first seemed to have a slightly narrower nose than the second too. I like how each doll really does seem to be an individual and #2 is definitely *our Gabby*. I am concerned a bit with what her pretty hair will look like after real girl play, I almost wish I could just leave her on a shelf, but alas, our girls love playing with her and, after all, that is what dolls are for so, if her hair gets messed up, I'll just have to fix it! Here are some pics.....

Here is a pic of #2 (on your left) and #1 (on your right). You can see they are both beautiful in their own right, but quite different as described above. (note, the chipped tooth issue cannot be seen in the photos...)

Above is a pic of the Gabby we are keeping! Yep, pretty smitten with her!
