Pollyanna is right. I would likely return this if it had not been requested by my middle daughter for Christmas. I purchased it at a steep discount with free shipping during that glitch week earlier this month, to be given to her from her aunt. The back board is particleboard (or so it seems), as are the side pieces. The slats are a very thin plastic that I fear will break if accidentally sat on, tripped over, or any of the other normal play accidents occur. That said, the flowers on the back board are delicately done, and I do like the quality and design of the quilt, and the pull-out feature works smoothly. However, when I contrast Nanea's bed with the secondhand PC version of Josefina's bed that is also under the tree for youngest dd, Nanea's bed comes up seriously deficient as far as quality. The base of Josefina's bed had broken in a few spots, and was then repaired by the first owner with wood glue. And it is still sturdier than any part of the base of Nanea's bed! If Nanea's breaks, there will be no way to repair it. We will see how it holds up to play.
