Maryellen discovers a love of sledding when she visits her grandparents in the mountains of Georgia! Includes:
A real wooden sled with metal runners and an attached rope for pulling, just like Maryellen would have seen in 1950s catalogues
A metal insulated container with a removable stopper and lid that can be used as a cup when a warm drink is needed

The thermos reminds me of one my parents always took on road trips when I was growing up, which very well could have been purchased when they were teens in the 50s. I love the nostalgic value but also how it can be opened up and handled as if it were a real thermos (although according to the directions, not for hot liquids).

I also really like the sled. I’ve heard that it’s similar to Emily’s, which I don’t have, but it’s a nice combination of wood and metal, plus the rope.

Here are some pictures! The sled rope is long enough to pull the sled behind you, or to hold and “steer” while sledding. (Pulling the different sides of the rope does make the crosspiece on the sled move, but that’s all.)
