This coat exceeds expectations and was worth the backorder wait. It's a nice, plush velveteen in a blueish-purple color. The shade is more purple than the website picture shows. The coat is lined inside with purple satin and closes with frog closures. The matching hat is an odd style to our modern eyes but very 1910s. The faux fur on the collar, cuffs and muff is super soft and plushy. It doesn't feel real, like my vintage rabbit fur muffs (recycled from my grandmother's evening cloak) but as far as faux fur goes, it's really, really nice. I was expecting craft fair fur.

My only negative is the size of this coat. It was super difficult to get over Susanna's arms in a long-sleeved dress and didn't button over her hips. She's wearing Rebecca's original Hanukkah dress. This coat is meant specifically for a current Rebecca probably to be worn over her new Hanukkah dress.

I'm going to try it over her Beforever Meet outfit next. My only other complaint is very minor. The buttons are cheap plastic and don't look period correct. (I love the frogs!)

This coat is pretty fancy for a girl like Rebecca. If they had switched her year and Samantha's, I could see Samantha wearing this coat for a stroll through the park or to church/Christmas caroling/Christmas party but not for sledding or skating.
I disagree with Mamared and think this is worth the price. I used a Rewards certificate for $10. That covered shipping and tax plus a tiny bit extra. I considered having the coat made to Susanna's measurements but to find the materials and have someone make it would be far more costly. I wish the coat came in my size!
Grade: A
