Joss is a wonderful doll with a unique face mold and amazing disability representation! I always wished that they would have a disabled GOTY, but I understood the concern with having large items like a wheelchair or canes marketed as an "accessory set" that needs to be purchased separately. This works in the TM line where you can create your own character, but would be problematic for a GOTY who has a preset character. Joss's hearing aid is small enough that it's doable from a business standpoint, which I can appreciate: AG does have to make money, after all, and charging MORE for a doll that comes with a wheelchair or another large item probably would not be a good business move in terms of sales.
The doll herself: I appreciate that she has brown hair/brown eyes, as a lot of the dark-haired dolls we've seen in recent years seem to have a different eye color to make them more "interesting". I also think that Joss could be a lookalike doll for a large number of little girls, because brown eyes/brown hair/light skin is a rather common combination. Her hair is nice but a little too layered for my personal taste: it's hard to style and can't be braided without a ton of flyaways.
Her face mold is extremely cute. It's similar to the MG mold in some ways, I would say, with the smaller chin and smiley-ish mouth. In the second photo, the blonde doll has that mold for comparison's sake.
My Joss, Eden, looks great in a wide variety of colors but especially bright shades, which is nice considering her collection is bright and beachy.
