Tights: A
Standard AG tights. They’re maybe a little thicker than more recent offerings, but not quite as thick as some of Samantha’s early tights. They’re well-made and easy (for tights) to slip on. I always love a good pair of tights!
Dress: A+
I think this is one of the prettiest dresses that AG has ever made! It’s made of soft, light blue fabric with a delicate, sophisticated lace overlay. The cap sleeves are made of the same lace with light blue trim and lace “straps” to decorate the front of the dress. Some have complained about the lace not being hemmed, but I think it’s common to not hem this kind of lace – it doesn’t ravel – and, at the very least, I probably wouldn’t hem it if I was sewing the dress. A hem would also give the bottom a much heavier look than the light, wintery pattern woven into the lace currently gives it. The satin bow is sewn onto the dress and the bow is sewn together. The front features the same white embroidery that’s seen on the bottom. It’s such an elegant dress!

Apologies for the sideways picture - I couldn't convince it to turn the right way.
It opens with non-snag Velcro, so it’s easy to put on. Even with the Velcro being non-snag, I’d advise being careful – the one downside to this dress is that it doesn’t feel especially durable. I could see a child (or careless adult…like me) easily snagging the delicate lace. The fit is a little snug, so I doubt it would fit on the chunkier PC dolls, but it’s fine on a newer girl.

The colour is gorgeous and universally flattering – I have yet to see a doll that doesn’t look good in this!
Shoes: A+
These feel like good quality, a lot better than some of AG’s flimsier offerings over the past few years. The pearls and jewels accent the dress’s elegance and the double strap gives them a very formal, different sort of look. They have a small heel, which looks nice and doesn’t impact the doll’s balance at all. Some have mentioned the threads from the pearls getting in the way of the Velcro, which I could see being an issue…but mine Velcro and stay on just fine, so maybe it’s dependent on you particular pair of shoes?

No problem with balance!
Bow: A+
I really, really appreciate the type of fastening used on this! As someone who isn’t great with hair and is therefore apt to ignore hair accessories, the pressure clip on this bow makes it so easy to use that there’s no reason not to use it! It slides in easily without ruining your doll’s hair and stays in place. The blue satin matches the ribbon around the waist of the dress.

Nice, easy closure!
Good Value?
I’ll admit, I initially balked at the $42 price tag when I bought this from AG. There’s no denying that the price increase that came with the “return to quality” launch in 2019 was a little shocking at first…but I think it’s worth it. Because this outfit is quality! The tights are thick, the shoes are sturdy, and the dress is detailed and gorgeous! I’m happy to pay a little more if it means well-made outfits with good materials again.
Overall: A+
This was, hands down, my favourite thing from the Historical relaunch in 2019. It reminded me of a Titanic dress (I’m nothing if not a Titanic nerd!) and I loved the more “grown up” look of it. It does not disappoint! It’s elegant and eye-catching. It’s well-made and the materials used are absolutely gorgeous! It does, admittedly, feel a little delicate, but I kind of like that about it – it adds to the feeling of it being something special and not often worn. I’m so happy that AG made it, I’m thrilled to have it in my collection, and I LOVE how it looks on Blaire!
