Luciana’s Accessories retailed for $25, and it was one of the last pieces of her collection that I purchased during her year. Although I love her space theme, many of the pieces in this set don’t appeal to me, and some are poorly made. Here are some additional photos and thoughts:

In my opinion, the backpack is the biggest miss. On the plus side, it’s roomy enough for the other accessories (with room to spare), the holographic material is kind of cool, and the straps are long enough to easily fit on the doll. I also like the heart constellation, which appears on several of Luciana’s things. On the other hand, the backpack is stiff, very simply constructed, and most annoying of all to me, crookedly sewn. If I try to fold the upper flap down evenly, it misses the Velcro closure, and the sides and bottom also seem permanently askew. I might just have a dud, but it seems very sloppy to me. D

The star chart is kind of cool. The wheel spins to show the position of constellations in the night sky. B

The Neapolitan space ice cream comes in a hard plastic case that has the Space Camp logo on the front. The front is silvery grey, and the back piece is clear, with a small indentation on the end to pry the two halves apart. I like that it can be taken apart, then returned to the container to play with again. B+

The two other paper pieces - the book and camp certificate, are maybe less special than they could be. They both have the Space Camp logo. The “Space Camp Space Log” is just a book with lined pages inside, and the certificate says “Space Camp Awards Luciana Vega Space Camp Wings 2018”. It would have been nice if they had some other special features or information attached. (As I write this, I’m remembering that the print catalogs during Luciana’s year had special codes to access more information online. I don’t know if this included her Accessories, but I don’t think they’re functional anymore anyway.) C
The smart watch has a clear band and constellations along with the time on its face. This doesn’t especially appeal to me, but maybe others feel differently. B

Overall, this is one of the more disappointing GOTY Accessory sets from my perspective. The space ice cream and star chart are the most interesting items in my opinion, and the rest is just kind of meh. I think I’d give it an overall C- at the retail price, but people who like the backpack or who received a better quality piece would probably rate it higher.
