I disliked Kavi’s meet outfit from the get go. But, hey, if that’s what the young girls who make the profit meters swirl like it, if this is the 2023 style, let’s do it. Well, sadly, this gorgeous doll isn’t selling well even in trendy attire, sad to say. I did not see much interest in her at the AG store in NY and there was a decent crowd shopping including quite a few target aged girls. I had the Kavi area all to myself as I checked out the selections.
I wonder if a cuter, prettier, more traditional, classic meet outfit would hsve showcased this doll a bit better. Her top is very unusual among AG outfits and NOT what kids are wearing. The colors are not pleasing n common to me and I don’t think they are to kids either. Her meet outfit is reminiscent of Ivy’s snd I think Ivy’s green pants might go with that top.
Actually, the top wasn’t as horrible as I first considered it, but it is a tough one to match. It doesn’t particularly do we’ll with the silver satiny meet pants, imo. Much as I dislike the performance outfit with its loud pink and purple colors , I think that outfit prints out more of Kavi’s feature; much more flattering g to her coloring. This outfit, supposed to be “edgy” is really milque toast in effect. Forgettable and not pleasing. I really can’t think of anything that would make that top stand out. The pants are neutral at best. They could have been showcased better with a flashy show girl type top, but instead the meet blouse really just dead pans them.
The hot pink high top sneakers could have been a win but imo they are incongruent with that outfit. A splash of hot pink, not the more muted, hardly distinguishable pink in the top, might have pulled the look together better . The hat in the meet accessories does help but too late . I may get a hot pink vest or short jacket to try to give this a brighter more dynamic a nd yet cohesive look. The meet outfit as is now gets a D- grade from me with the possibilities that the satin pants and pink sneakers the only thing that Dave it from total failure As a complete, composite look, definitely a F from me. Only Ivy’s meet outfit is worse.
