It took me a while to get this beautiful doll. I was ever so appreciative that AG gave her a new face mold. I believe she is truly one of the prettiest of AG dolls with delicate features. The above members have done a fantastic job with their descriptions of Claudie.
There has been much discussion about the âlightening upâ of Addy, and most of the Sonali molds are not the darkest in skin tones that AG has . I have TM85 who has the darkest coloring , my Calista, who looks absolutely terrific in that coloring. Claudie who has the same skin tone has such fine delicate features that do not show up as well in a lot of lighting. Even at the AG stores, itâs not easy to see exactly how she looks. Claudie has the features that can beautifully run the gamut from little girl on a scooter to high glamour, high fashion Harlem Row creations. Itâs not always apparent to people, however
I chose to keep my Claudie canon. I like her back story. Iâm very familiar with the neighborhood , though in a different century, where she lives. That I wanted her to be that little girl in Harlem, made iIt frustrating that she didnât have any everyday outside outfits other than her meet dress and cardigan. I do like the simple gingham dress, and the color choice for the cardigan is perfect. I think AG did well in selecting her meet outfit .
A deterrent to getting Claudie for little girls is her hair. As pretty as it is, one canât just brush it out. It doesnât require as meticulous shaping as my Cécileâs ringlets and sausage curls do, but it does require finesse.
Iâm looking forward to seeing variations of this face mold, particularly with other wigs.
Iâve now gotten all of Claudieâs collection except for her bakery which I wonât be getting. Iâve picked some sweet everyday and Sunday best outfits for her
at Etsy and other venues. Looking for a casual winter jacket which I may borrow from Kirsten or Samantha if I donât find something that works on Etsy. Eagerly anticipating new releases for her. Wishing for a doll from that time period, poet theater, a picnic basket as shown in her new book would be nice. i alway want school supplies but doubt it b
