Well, here's my new #30. I love the Jess mold, so I had to get her despite already having Jess & Ivy. ![]()
Her hair is quite long. However, it is very, very thin. When I did her hair in two braids, each looked rather paltry. Sad. I had hoped she would have thicker hair. It is very silky and soft. Her hair does have a bit of a flip to it. I was pleased to see that she has the short hairs to cover the gaps in her wig- no creepy bald spots. A closer look at the back of her wig. Another angle. #30 with Jess- you can see Jess's highlights more readily here. They are extremely similar- they have the same eye color. From the back- Jess's braids are much more substantial than #30's pigtails. Grade: A- Now, grades are so subjective that I don't really like giving them. The doll is really very lovely. Her appearance warrants an A+, but points deducted for how thin her hair is. I would prefer she didn't have layers, but that is a personal preference and doesn't speak to the quality of the doll. My second reservation about her is the tendency of the face mold to seem (and maybe not just seem) to be tilted forward so that the doll looks like she's staring downward. I found this to be the case with Ivy as well, though my Jess doesn't seem to have this problem. That said, I only noticed the looking-down when the dolls are on display above my head.
