I can understand the frustration with the hat & shoes being too small for a pre-Mattel doll. However, if anyone intends to put it on a Mattel doll, everything fits fine (the boots are snug though).
The outfit looks great on my Mattel #25, and even the hat pulls on nicely and stays put. For my purposes, I love it.
The broom really does stand on it's own.
