Ruthie Doll

Ruthie is a gorgeous girl! Her hair is black with reddish highlights. Her curls are really springy and like Samantha's, they bounce back with water and finger combing, but her hair gets messy easily. Initially, I thought her eyes were more blue/gray than Molly's, but after comparing the two, they look almost the same. I like her body size, she's not too skinny. She also doesn't have too too much facial coloring. Her outfit is pretty to look at but not fabulous quality. Her dress feels like it is made from some kind of stretchy material. The buttons on the front are fake and her dress velcros down the back. Her socks are like Samantha's socks but blue and shorter, also they slouch quickly. Her shoes are soft and have a cute little heel. I was disappointed they velcro instead of buckle. That was a definite negative for me. However, after a lot of shoving, her shoes fit my white bodied Molly over very thin socks. My Ruthie has no problems standing in her heeled shoes. I was also disappointed that her hair ribbon is just a ribbon and not a headband like Addy's striped dress ribbon. It's barely big enough to go around her head and tie a bow. That's another negative for me. Her limbs are super skinny and she looks almost emaciated compared to my other girls. Addy's clothes are huge on her.

Ruthie (and Kit) have the V shaped cut out in the back of the neck. They shipped directly from AG on behalf of Borders bookstore when Ruthie was released.

Ruthie gets an A for my first Mattel doll and a A- for her outfit.
