This piece went on deep discount prior to final retirement, and for the last-gasp price of $10, it couldn't be beat. At its original retail price of $36, it was an expensive little table. But I think it is one of the prettiest of the nightstands that AG has made, and I love the bottom shelf. It's maybe not $36-worth of pretty, though.
I actually have two tables, one that was pre-quasi-Felicity-retirement that came from MCM. The other is of the reintroduced variety that has been on the market since Felicity's DVD came out in 2005. I see no difference in the tables (bearing in mind that there can be subtle differences in finish on all furniture pieces, as is true of real-people furniture).
We use one table in Felicity's bedroom, where it has withstood 3 years of little girl play with no dings or scratches. I've used the other as a side table in a modern living room, where it looks fine next to some non-AG overstuffed chairs, and in a medieval room.
It's a nicely designed piece that actually gets an A from me, as I've not had any trouble maintaining it. I think with a little care, it should withstand any amount of display or play. The drawer is deep enough to hold her pocketbook from her rescue kit. Noah's Ark fits perfectly on the bottom shelf.
I personally would not pay more than $25 for it, tops, but of course YMMV. Prices went up once it was gone from AG and only available on the secondary market, so as always, collectors need to determine what an item is worth to them personally.
