Starter Collection (2005-2008)

This set is adorable. My 3 year old got it for Christmas two years ago and she has played with everything so much that we are giving her the new Starter Collection with a different Bitty for Christmas this year.
It comes with a good variety of items, although I do wish it included a more casual outfit (something like the knit onesie and pants with the new Collection--I think that was the only weak point in this Collection). Everything in the set is beautifully made and has held up really well to nearly constant playing. I love the trunk, I think it's adorable. It's also very sturdy and perfect for storing the items in (although we also got the older wicker suitcase to hold the overflow as DD has added to her collection). I would also like to say that I appreciate the construction of the clothing, which makes them easy for my 3 year old to change her doll, and although she's young and tends to pull things harder than she should at times, we've never had a problem with a seam tearing or anything like that.
I think that buying the Bitty Baby with the Starter Collection is a good value. You really wouldn't have to buy anything else if you didn't want to, and it's a perfect first doll for a little girl.
