The older set was much nicer. I give this set a C- due to it not being realistic. A+ for little girls who love horses though. 
The red jacket would not be age appropriate and is worn by adults (and very few teens) while fox hunting. Not to get too detailed, but you have to be an accomplished rider to be allowed to wear the red jacket.
The short boots are very age appropriate though, but the shirt is not "correct". Approximated equestrian stuff is a big pet peeve of mine!
