I now have the Mattel version and I didn't notice mine being as unfinished as the photo shown here. Maybe it was a bad run?
I had the PC version quite some time ago, and while the wool was (I think) higher quality, for some reason it attracted lint way more. I kind of like my new verison that is not quite as nice but stays relatively lint-free.
