Grade: BI love Josefina's Winter Accessories. It's so sad that they were retired. As a Native New Mexican, I can say with great certainty that Josefina would have needed something warm in the winters. Sadly, the poor girl only has one long-sleeved camisa and the sarape to keep her warm. Josefina's hat is a lovely black velvet with a black grosgrain ribbon. It's very classy. In this picture, it's sitting a bit high on Josefina's head because she has her hair in French braids. The only downside to the hat is that it probably picks up cat hair like nobody's business, so this is definitely staying away from the furry denizens of my house. Josefina's white petticoat isn't very thick. It is, however, quite long. I'm going to venture that it's so thin because it actually needs to go under Josefina's skirts, which also have camisa and drawers tucked in. I really like the detail on the hem; I can imagine Josefina crocheting it herself. Josefina's socks are the wintriest of the lot. Unfortunately, because they're so thick, I couldn't get them on underneath her moccasins. They also look ridiculous with the dainty shoes from her shoes and socks set. The only thing they really work with are her riding boots, and even that's a strain, as you can see in the photo. I really don't care for sarapes at all, so I was surprisingly pleased with how nice Josefina's looks. I love the color, which fits into the Josefina earthy color scheme so well. The little pouch is very sweet, as is the letter inside. Like AGR said, it's sad that the letter couldn't be in Spanish, but I can see why they would make it English.
