Our brunette Bitty Boy is quite possibly the best-loved doll in our house. Ours dates from 2005. He never wears his color-block sleeper because I don't think he ever sleeps...at least not according to my son's rules of doll play. FWIW, the 2005 Meet outfit is a nice weight velour and very soft. I love how durable and sturdy the Bitty Twins are. Not to perpetuate gender stereotypes, but in my experience little boys play with their dolls more roughly than do little girls. This doll is my son's favorite and he's seen lots and lots of action with nary a scrape. Except his one eyelid does droop a bit, but we don't fuss about that around here. Before we got him I was worried that the open mouth would give him a perpetually hungry-bird look, but IRL it's not been distracting. My son loves him, and he's held up well over many years of play, so A+ from me. A day in the life of a brunette Bitty boy:
