I've never been quite sure why the colonial girls needed additional nightgowns, since they'd likely have slept in their shifts. Mmmm, okay, yes, I know why: so AG could sell them. So, fine, I am a sheep. I bought the colonial nightgowns. And I have to say that of all the Historical nightgowns, I like Elizabeth's the best. It is smartly cut (better than Felicity's shapeless sack of a nightgown, at least) and has a daintiness about it that I find appealing. No problems with fit. Slippers are darling. Grade A. Someone more knowledgeable than me will have to speak to the historical accuracy of a lappet cap for bedtime wear. I've seen them with lappets hanging down, pinned up, or tied under the chin, but none of that seems terribly practical or comfortable for sleeping.
