I got this set back in the mid '90s. My lamp no longer works. But it never gave off much light either. I've mainly used it for decoration. I remember actually filling the water bottle with water once. 
And I read the Nancy Drew book. My mom had read me some Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys books as bedtime stories in the past so I was familiar with the characters. I was just disappointed that it wasn't the whole book. That wasn't one we had and I wanted to know how it ended. I never did find a copy. I seen a copy once, but my mom didn't have enough money that day. *makes mental note to look online*
