I have eight #4s (including the 2002-2003 pale greenish skin). But really, you can't go wrong with any #4, IMHO. Even the pale greenish skin cast could be interpreted as a very pale, Japanese court type of complexion. Fujiko - slightly green but my newest "old" girl on your left and Kasumi on your right. Kasumi - the ultimate #4 (closeup next to Keiko, my first #4 from 1995, only with Mattel eyes because she got silver eye) This is a closeup of Keiko before she had silver eye, and Tsuki performing a Vulcan mind meld to move Keiko's memories into Cailin's mind temporarily until Keiko returned from the AG Hospital. Tsuki is half Vulcan, half Japanese. For reference, if you see a #4 on ebay wearing the Go Anywhere lavendar meet outfit and the description says that this is the doll's original outfit, chances are she might have a grayish olive complexion. There was a whole generation of dolls made when Lindsay was first released in 2002 who tend to have that problem. The undressed 2002 doll will have the Mattel body tag stitched into the side but the facial coloring will be pale. Pre-Mattel AGT dolls most often do not have a body tag. Also, the dolls made after Marisol have a longer neck than any who came before. For an Asian doll, this gives an elegant line when wearing kimonos. Facial coloring in dolls produced in 1997 and the mid 2000's (2005 - 2007 or 2008) is also prettier than the pale, pre-Mattel faces. *mod edit to remove customized doll images for review purposes* [/sub]
